Episode 224 - Is There a Giant?

Ben, Brad, and Nate are back to their regularly scheduled podcasting. But here's the thing, Ben and Nate are a little rusty with their assignments. Of course, it's a whole thing with Ben as to why he didn't watch his movie, but somehow still had time to watch four hours of a TV docuseries about American Gladiators. Meanwhile, Nate watched a movie with Denzel Washington but didn't watch the right one with Denzel Washington. However, Brad came through with flying colors by watching two assignments, going to the theater four times, and watching a horror classic and an indie gem from this year. This guy loves movies and the podcast, and he respects you, the listener. Nate and Ben, on the other hand? We'll let you be the judge. Ben wouldn't even do a good trailer song when we watched the previews for Thunderbolts* (FULL! FILLED!) and Mickey 17 (SO MANY ROBERTS PATTINSONS!). Do you want to come and play? We'll hop hop hop hop, whaddya say?

[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey everybody!

[00:00:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey everybody!

[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey everybody!

[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Go Flix Yourself!

[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey everybody!

[00:00:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It's another episode of Go Flix Yourself.

[00:00:19] [SPEAKER_04]: My name is Ben Conowitz and with me as always is the Stegosaurus to my Velociraptor Bradford

[00:00:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Hohme.

[00:00:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey that's me!

[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I got a spiky tail and a spiky back.

[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And the Tyrannosaurus Rex to my Velociraptor.

[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Nate Laus.

[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah buddy!

[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, here's the thing.

[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_03]: You stupid herbivore.

[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah but you know what the Stegosaurus fucking swings that tail and he'll fucking tear your

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_03]: shit up.

[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what that tail is called?

[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_05]: A tail.

[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It's called a thagomizer.

[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_04]: You're making that up.

[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_05]: I know, is that right?

[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_04]: You know why?

[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Because Gary Larson called it that.

[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Well now this is definitely made up.

[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Nope, look it up.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Gary Larson called it that and then the scientific community realized we don't have

[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_04]: a name for that so we're going to call it that.

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at him Nate.

[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_05]: The tail of a Stegosaurus is called a thagomizer.

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_05]: A term that comes from the far side cartoon by Gary Larson.

[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_05]: This is given to me by Google.

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh interesting.

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_03]: So.

[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_03]: It sounds better coming from Nate.

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Fuck you piece of shit!

[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm over here spitting facts!

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah but like you don't make him sound interesting.

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I hate you.

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Nate's good at like he knows how to preach to the people.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh I wonder why.

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_03]: He's better than you.

[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Both in life and in speech.

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Death?

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh trust me he would be way better than you in death.

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_04]: We already a little bit earlier off air we talked about what we're going to do.

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Life and death.

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Fred's grave.

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man I can't wait.

[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean it's fantastic.

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_04]: We have plans.

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I have plans to poop on it most days.

[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_04]: This is a fine grave for me to poop on.

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_04]: For me to poop on.

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So hey welcome back to GoFlecht yourself.

[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the second week in a row we're recording.

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah and would you guess how long it took?

[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_03]: It took for Ben not to watch the movie he was assigned.

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay listen.

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Was it one week?

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_03]: If you had one week on your bingo card you win.

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_04]: This guy.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't get this movie until what Saturday.

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_03]: You didn't ask for it until Saturday.

[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_03]: That's not how this goes.

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_05]: No but that's not how Brad does it.

[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Here's the thing and also if Nate was in this position you would be giving him

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_03]: so much shit for avoiding responsibility.

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_03]: You should have thought of this way earlier this week but you were like oh I gotta

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_02]: do Ben Khan and putting on my own gotta convention and all the people that come

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_02]: from out of state.

[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I got Bonnie from West Side Gutters.

[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I got Steven from Honky Tonk Gutters.

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey Steven from Honky Tonk Gutters is a friend.

[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_02]: You take that back.

[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I got I got Quebec Bill coming in from Quebec Gutters.

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Well they do good work.

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_05]: By the way he's French.

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_05]: He doesn't go by Bill.

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_05]: It's Bill.

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah exactly.

[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_05]: You're my better Bill.

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah so just just so you're aware before we into it Ben didn't watch his assigned movie.

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Fuck you because the nice people from French, Canadian up there and the gutter people they

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_04]: donated three thousand two hundred forty dollars to the PAC Center.

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_05]: They did.

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean they don't know they don't know the PAC Center from nothing.

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_04]: They just said Ben you seem to know you got the your thumb of the pulse charity in

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_04]: La Porta Indiana.

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_05]: What's a good charity.

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_05]: By the way far listeners that don't know this the PAC Center is an organization that

[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_05]: I help run that helps feed the hungry and Ben very kindly used his influence at Ben Conn

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_05]: a conference he named after himself.

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Actually to be fair Ben didn't have to do anything.

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_03]: They the I was there and they were asking about this charity stuff that Ben does.

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I was gonna say this for the first time ever.

[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Bracken actually legitimize what I'm saying so I'm not I'm not being a piece of

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_04]: shit.

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I have nothing to do with it really though.

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I know yours that are they came up to me and.

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'll do my worst you know French Canadian accent but they up in what is the charity that

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_02]: you are into what was it which local one.

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_04]: They cross on what do you want and I'm like well I support the PAC Center like

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_04]: we give you so we's going to give you money for the PAC Center.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_04]: That's exactly true.

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_04]: It's true.

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah they were great.

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And so yes I didn't watch my movie but I raised money for charity Brad so how about

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_04]: that.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a strawman argument though.

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_03]: That's like yeah sure I didn't do what I supposed to do but I did something

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_03]: to be different and unrelated.

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah I live my life by the strawman argument.

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_03]: We just established that you didn't do anything for this though so.

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I'm a strong man.

[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh did we get you in a trap.

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_03]: No I'm a strong man.

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah welcome to M. Night Shyamalan bitch.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_03]: I love strongman arguments.

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Brad tonight is wearing a blockbuster T-shirt.

[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Do you at all miss video stores.

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh gosh do I miss video stores man.

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I love going to video stores when I was a kid.

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I love going when I was a teenager because they would always sell tapes after they were

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_03]: uploading like the new releases that they had like a hundred different tapes for and

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I would you know buy 90 of them.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Seriously I would buy so many video tapes from family video.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah I was a.

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_04]: He bought 90 copies of Homeward Bound.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_03]: It's an incredible journey.

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_05]: I was going into the CBS the other day and I saw a very lonely red box and I thought

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_05]: they're going the way of the blockbuster.

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_04]: You can tell that they're going the way because now they're so sun bleached.

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_04]: They just because there's no money going into them.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Making them look good.

[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_04]: There was no way.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Plus no who actually watches DVDs.

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_03]: No but grandparents people who don't have good Wi-Fi in the country.

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_04]: The good Wi-Fi in the country people and so those there still will be a market for

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_04]: that in small towns like the port.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like probably the next 10 years honestly but after that it'll be done.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Well I would say five years but like it was like my dad was still doing Netflix DVDs

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_05]: up until yesterday.

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah it was.

[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_04]: They told him sir you're the last one.

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_05]: It was like when they canceled he's like how are we going to watch videos now.

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm like dad they've been doing like digital.

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah but honestly though it's a big loss though because there were a lot of movies

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_03]: that were available on disc that simply aren't available on streaming and there

[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_03]: are the percentage of movies that are not available on any streaming service

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_03]: even if you have all of the paid streaming services is absurd.

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Like and that's a big part of the reason why.

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Hold on.

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a big part of the reason why physical media is actually still doing

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_03]: pretty well and actually is seeing a bit of a resurgence in sales because people

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_03]: are starting to realize that not all the movies they want to watch are available

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_03]: on those streaming services.

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_03]: No no even digitally but you just buy it on the app.

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_03]: No but that's the thing is like there's even some movies that aren't

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_03]: available on digital.

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Name four.

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Anyway I want to see.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Name one.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Four of them.

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Physical media.

[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Name one.

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Dogma.

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_04]: That seems like a winestein choice.

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_03]: By the way you.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Not winestein choice but the reason is winestein.

[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_03]: That's what I said.

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not a choice though.

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_03]: No it was a choice by winestein.

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Well no it's just because like they can't get the rights to get it.

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Because winestein won't give it up.

[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Well I mean they're kind of in some trouble.

[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_03]: What happened?

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_05]: By the way you just said something that's not true.

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Go on.

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Where you said physical media sales are doing so well.

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't say they were doing so well they're having a bit of a resurgence I said.

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_03]: They're doing better now than they were previously.

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_03]: So it went from dumpster fire to garbage fire.

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean but previously by how?

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_05]: They're significantly significantly less than they were in 2010.

[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah that was 14 years ago.

[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm talking about in recent years there's been like.

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Most like in the last two years.

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah in the past like two to five years.

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_03]: If there's been a slow rise as people realize streaming services aren't as plentiful as they thought.

[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Nate will you ask AI if that's true.

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_03]: If you do anything with AI I will kick you in your uprights.

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_03]: What does that even mean?

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Where's Dick is?

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_04]: He's not very white.

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_04]: He's not white hips.

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to split the uprights.

[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_04]: OK that makes a little bit more sense.

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Sports.

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_05]: OK US Home Entertainment Market OK.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_05]: DVD what's BD by the way BD.

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Bluray disc.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Down 25% from last year.

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_04]: What year.

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_04]: 23 to 24.

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Well no this is from 23.

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_05]: US Home Entertainment Market up 17%.

[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_05]: DVD Bluray disc down 25%.

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_05]: What about 4K.

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_04]: What about beta.

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_03]: What about laser disc.

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_03]: No 4K 4K 4K I like.

[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_05]: OK but like there's seven 4K discs sold a year right.

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_05]: And so if they.

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_05]: And one of them.

[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Garfield.

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_05]: It's like they sold 10 of them and they're up 30%.

[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Keep watching movies on your phone you piece of shit.

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_05]: It's just join us.

[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Join us in the new world we're building.

[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm perfectly fine though if that's the new world you're building.

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Fucking take it and shove it in your ass.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Shove it in your ass not up in.

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I unlike some members of this podcast don't like things.

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_05]: In there however.

[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_05]: I just think.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_05]: There are more and more.

[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_05]: What do you try to say nothing.

[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm not out in anybody but like.

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_04]: There's only two other people on the podcast name.

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Ben likes in the ass.

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Not at all what he was saying.

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_04]: No that's what you say.

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I know but you're saying it.

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_04]: No you.

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm saying I didn't say it.

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_04]: We're going to call the willy walker stuff.

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_04]: If there's kids in the car.

[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Brad loves the willy walker stuff.

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I like Willy Wonka the chug factor.

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Say no more.

[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_04]: We're talking about dicks in my ass right.

[00:09:21] But.

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I could never share this podcast ever again.

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Who are you sharing with it before.

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_04]: It was going on Facebook and now I can't even.

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah this is the point where it's just we can't share it anymore.

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Give me a break.

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_05]: So anyway.

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_05]: The DVD physical DVD 4k.

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_05]: They're allowing like that's happening with digital media now.

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Right.

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_05]: So you can do 4k and digital.

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Willy Wonka and the chocolate fuck.

[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_03]: No it's what are you doing.

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_03]: That's the porn title.

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not even that good.

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Like you guys you were so excited at this bullshit.

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like you're a fucking child who runs in

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_03]: off the street with half a dead bird.

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Mom look what I found.

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like what the fuck are you doing.

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Go wash your hands and make sure you don't have bird flu.

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_03]: It's time for dinner.

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Willy Wonka.

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_03]: You think Wonka is a good name for a porn.

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_03]: You're like a six year old who came with a porn title name.

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_04]: That would be hilarious.

[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god.

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Imagine if he was having sex.

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was so bad.

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_04]: But it was just like Gene Wilder when he was walking.

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Here's my other issue.

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I actually just tweeted about this dude.

[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_05]: There's a.

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_03]: First of all you're on Twitter more than almost anybody.

[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_05]: No I've given up on Twitter.

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Just this week.

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_05]: That's a good burn though.

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_03]: First of all no you didn't.

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I know because you liked and replied to one of my tweets.

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_03]: This week after that though.

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_03]: It was yesterday.

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_03]: After that.

[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_03]: No no.

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_03]: I am on threat.

[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_03]: There is a quality control.

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't like to support Elon Musk like you.

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_03]: He's gonna get killed today.

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna murder him.

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Just for the record me or Elon Musk.

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Both.

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_03]: As far as I'm concerned there's no difference these days.

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Brad is a musketeer.

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a great name for people who support Elon Musk.

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_05]: I've never heard it.

[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like if no one's done that what are we doing?

[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_03]: What are we doing?

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_03]: We're kind of brilliant.

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_04]: We're cleaning every time.

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm fucking stupid.

[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_04]: But every once in a while.

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_03]: A musketeer is really good.

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Can you tell him that he's smart?

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I told him it was great.

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_03]: So there's a bit of a laziness and a quality issue with certain digital media.

[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_03]: One of the things I've noticed this before but just recently it really bugged me

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_03]: is when you have movies that have subtitles on them

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_03]: if you're watching them on disc or you've seen them in theaters

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_03]: the subtitles are part of the movie.

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_03]: If you're watching a movie digitally

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_03]: the subtitles come from the closed captioning tool

[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_03]: on digital movies.

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_03]: So if you were to watch a movie with closed captioning on all the time

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_03]: the subtitles show up in the same way.

[00:12:01] [SPEAKER_03]: They're not actually part of the actual film

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_03]: on what you would call the print of the movie.

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Let me ask you an actual question that is not a bit.

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I have had closed captioning on a lot lately

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_04]: because I watch it with volume down

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_04]: because it's actually sleeping or the boys doing homework whatever.

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_04]: On streaming stuff

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I will notice that it's distracting

[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_04]: not because it's on the screen

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_04]: it's distracting because it's coming way too early.

[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So a lot of times the punchlines are ruined.

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that because it's not part of the actual theater?

[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and sometimes that's part of the timing issue

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_03]: with closed captioning because it's using the closed captioning function

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_03]: and it's not like a subtitle that's ingrained as part of the copy of the movie.

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Because I would much prefer it if the filmmaker said something to do with it

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_03]: so it was like oh hey.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_03]: No, exactly.

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Especially because sometimes

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_03]: like for example John Wick is one of these

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_03]: John Wick has stylized subtitles

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_03]: but certain digital copies

[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_03]: just use the subtitles

[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_03]: so you don't see them in that cool way

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_03]: takes away from part of the experience.

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Another thing that happened

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_03]: and I just realized this again recently

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_03]: because I watched Men in Black

[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_03]: and I put on a digital copy of it

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_03]: and in the opening scene

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_03]: where K, Tommy Lee Jones's character speaks Spanish

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_03]: to try and figure out who the alien is

[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_03]: that scene is supposed to have

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_03]: translated subtitles.

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_03]: If I didn't have the subtitles

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_03]: on the entire time of that movie

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_03]: it wasn't giving me translated

[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_03]: words. Same with the alien scene

[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_03]: later in the movie in the diner.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Didn't give me the translated alien dialogue

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_03]: later in the movie either.

[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_03]: That's necessary to understand what they're talking about

[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_03]: unless I turned on subtitles.

[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_04]: That's Fox with the exposition of the movie.

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly and I guarantee you

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_03]: similar to how when people go to the movie theaters

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_03]: and they don't know when they're getting a shitty experience

[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_03]: because the screen hasn't been masked properly

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_03]: or something like that

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_03]: people don't know. They're like, oh I guess I'm just not supposed to understand this

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_03]: and I'll figure it out later

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_03]: and you don't know if you're missing something

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_03]: when you're watching the movie.

[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_03]: It's shit like that.

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't like the digital movie experience

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_03]: and that's why I like physical media

[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_03]: because it's a better version of the movie.

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I just didn't have the subtitles on during the with itch

[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_04]: so that's probably why I just did it.

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a great movie either way.

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, that was

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_03]: digital movie ownership is dog shit.

[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_04]: To put a book end on that.

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_03]: You know

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_03]: we haven't dug into the most important part of this podcast yet

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_03]: which is a movie podcast.

[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_03]: What's the last movie you saw?

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_03]: No, it's a games time?

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_03]: No, trailers.

[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Nate, what do you think we've got to do here?

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_05]: It is time to talk about the things we love most about Ben.

[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Finally.

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh this segment is over before it starts.

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_05]: You go first.

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I love that Ben gets excited about the sponsored part of the podcast.

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh we have sponsors?

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Which is what we're doing right now.

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_05]: I've never gotten any money from this.

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Guys!

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_05]: It's very genuine though.

[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Let me ask you something.

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_03]: We've had the fun part of the ice cream cone before

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_03]: on this show right?

[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_05]: The chocolate at the bottom?

[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you remember.

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_03]: He's so excited about the chocolate at the bottom of the ice cream cone.

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Sometimes I get the generic ones and

[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_05]: like are they going to do it?

[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_05]: And they do!

[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_03]: They're so good.

[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what the great thing about the chocolate is

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_03]: and those ice cream cones?

[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Not only is it delicious but it serves a practical function.

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Do you know what it is?

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, it stops the ice cream from coming out

[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_05]: at the bottom of the ice cream cone.

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly, it keeps the ice cream from soaking into the cone

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_03]: and making it soggy.

[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_03]: It keeps it weighted.

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Shut up ugly that a guy named Ernie Feldstein

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_05]: actually designed that.

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Is that true?

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_03]: No.

[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Speaking of Ernie Feldstein,

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_03]: he would love these little treats that I'm about to give you.

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Alright, Ben and Matashu

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_03]: one of these little ice cream titties.

[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Why only one?

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_05]: You're going to see if you like it first.

[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_05]: These are bugles.

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Here's a little ice cream tittie for you Nate.

[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Ooh!

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Just take a bite.

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Just munch it up.

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not into that one.

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_04]: That's peanut butter.

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_04]: That's PB&J.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I'm going to need those.

[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I'm on need those.

[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm on need those.

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_05]: You like these?

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Hey, one more.

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm on need those PB&J waffles.

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Those are delicious.

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_03]: You get a nice little treat.

[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_03]: You've been a good boy.

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Another one?

[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_03]: What?

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_03]: They're good.

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_03]: So these are just the fun part.

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_03]: It's one of the many brands out there who is doing these ice cream cones.

[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_03]: They have the chocolate on them, the very bottom part.

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_03]: This is PB&J.

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_03]: It's peanut butter with strawberry jelly inside of waffles.

[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_05]: It's the only jelly to really use.

[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_03]: I would like it if it was grape jelly too though.

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I think I prefer grape jelly.

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_03]: You prefer grape jelly?

[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Do you prefer grape jelly or peanut butter jelly?

[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Ben?

[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm literally a 50-50 guy.

[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I have both in my fridge.

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_04]: No, that's fair.

[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I have both too but I prefer grape.

[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I have like depends on the day.

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_03]: What?

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Strawberry is the best.

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_03]: That's fine.

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_03]: What's interesting about these is the chocolate

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_03]: in the ice cream cones usually it's a lot more firm.

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_03]: The peanut butter cream in here

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_03]: because it's not actually peanut butter

[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I think it's like a peanut butter flavored whatever.

[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but it's softer and so like it's

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_03]: It's just chemicals.

[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_03]: It's just chemical peanut butter.

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_03]: The one thing that I think is just a tad disappointing

[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_03]: is the jelly's a little too chewy

[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_03]: inside of the cone.

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Just a little bit.

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_03]: I like a more liquidy jelly.

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Wait, what is the name of that?

[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Just the fun part?

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, fun.

[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_03]: What do you think it said?

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_03]: It just looks like a different word from over here.

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_03]: What word?

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Just the diaper part.

[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_05]: It just looks like a different word.

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_04]: What word?

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Just the fuck part.

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_05]: No, it looks more like cunt.

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Whoa!

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_05]: It looks like an M at the end there.

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Fum, C-U-M.

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Just the cump part.

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I love how adorable he is.

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_03]: He's a cutie.

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_03]: You see what it says?

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_04]: He's fine with it.

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Would you have an ice cream cone on it?

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Almost did it.

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_04]: The water hit the bed.

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_04]: He got so excited.

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_03]: The water hit the back teeth and I was about to...

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_03]: You're salivating.

[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_03]: That implies he knows the taste

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_03]: and he doesn't want it again.

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_05]: No, that's just so disgusting.

[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Why do you salivate like that though?

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_04]: When you're going to throw up because your body is about to produce the water.

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_05]: The water is more salivation.

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_04]: No, it's so you can throw up.

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_04]: What's wrong with the both of you?

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_04]: You're the one that's salivating.

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Right before you throw up, you don't get a little water in your mouth?

[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Probably.

[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm concentrating too much on the shit coming out of my throat.

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_05]: It's the worst feeling, isn't it?

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_05]: You know you're going to throw up.

[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_05]: That's terrible.

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_05]: When was the last time you guys threw up?

[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Yesterday.

[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Did you really?

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_03]: It's been a while actually since I've had a good stomach flu honestly.

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm overdue and you just try and get one probably.

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_05]: I was going to meet Frank Mervin

[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_05]: who is our congressperson.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, I see his commercials all the fucking time.

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Tell him to knock it off.

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, he's a good one.

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_03]: He's fine. I actually don't need the commercials.

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_05]: So I was going to meet him at an event with Joe Donnelly, our former

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Senator and I was going to Maraville to do it

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_05]: and I was writing with two friends.

[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Shout out to

[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_05]: non-listeners of this podcast

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Shaw Freeman and Karen Bernanke

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_05]: and I was going there and I was sitting in the back of Shaw's car

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_05]: and I don't do well in a car

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_05]: unless I'm in the front

[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_05]: like I'm also big right?

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm a six foot five guy

[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_05]: so I'm in the back and actually had to ask them

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_05]: to pull to the side because I was so car sick.

[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_05]: It's where on the side of the interstate

[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_05]: and I get out and I just

[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_05]: heave-ho.

[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_05]: And then you give out like, hey Shaw, I'm going to drive.

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_05]: And he's like, I'm sorry,

[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_05]: it wasn't driving bad.

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_05]: I just, I get car sick really, really easily.

[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Were you reading your phone?

[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_05]: I may have been.

[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_05]: That'll do it.

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_05]: My daughter reads in the car.

[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Like reads books in the car.

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I used to be able to do it more when I was a kid

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_03]: and not anymore.

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_03]: It takes a little while, but yeah.

[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I can't do it so much anymore.

[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I can still do it.

[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_03]: No, it's a brag.

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_04]: The Pandora ride at Disney,

[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_04]: fuck that.

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't go on that.

[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I get so sick.

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_04]: The flying one?

[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Where it's like 270 degrees in front of you.

[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Really?

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I got sick at the Simpsons ride at Universal.

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_04]: So fun.

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that shit.

[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_04]: But I can read in the car.

[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_05]: I would rather have it the opposite way.

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Are you asking for you to ride fair rides?

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_05]: And would you do that?

[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_05]: I would rather have

[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_04]: a thumbtack

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_04]: placed into my scrotum.

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Like inside?

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Like pierce my scrotum with a thumbtack

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_04]: rather than ride any.

[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And I mean this.

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Any fucking Carnival ride at a fair.

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Any Carnival ride?

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I hate them all.

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Any of them are faster than a walk.

[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_05]: What?

[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_04]: It's dirty.

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: It makes me so sick.

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_04]: The scrambler?

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_05]: The scrambler, the moonwalk, the big big big big.

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Content for our Facebook page.

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Next year we're going to get you riding.

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we got to do Ben's fairs.

[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_05]: And we'll put it on Facebook page.

[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Slack Jog Yocl put together something with three rivets

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_04]: and I'm supposed to ride it and not die?

[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Most people don't die.

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_05]: So like, but you agree

[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_05]: right here on this podcast

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_05]: that next summer we're going to do that?

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_05]: No. In no way, Shaper 4.

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_05]: We're going to do a majority win votes.

[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_05]: No.

[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Out of the three of us who votes at Ben?

[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_03]: No, we win.

[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_03]: We call it Benpod.

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it'll be before BenCon.

[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Everyone comes, they watch you on rides.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And then everybody leaves because I just don't trust a guy

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_04]: that can't take it like in a layup.

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Do you think you would throw up?

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I would just be very queasy.

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I would just feel bad for like three days.

[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_04]: When I was little.

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_04]: What else is new?

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_04]: When I was little.

[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_05]: I was riding the swings at the La Port County Fair

[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_05]: and I threw up on the girl behind me.

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I was so embarrassed.

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he turned 28 years old that next year.

[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I've never thrown up because of a ride.

[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_05]: I get so sick.

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_03]: It's only because of stomach flu.

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Or alcohol?

[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, definitely alcohol.

[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_04]: That's probably, the last time I threw up for real

[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_04]: was when I was, I absolutely was sick.

[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Just stomach flu stuff.

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't remember the last time I threw up from alcohol though.

[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_04]: It's probably been a long time.

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_05]: You've done a great job conditioning though.

[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh yeah, no, no.

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a seasoned professional.

[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_04]: We're calling it conditioning.

[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_04]: This is at his first ride.

[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_04]: When I was 18 years old,

[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I stayed the night at a girlfriend's house.

[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, a girlfriend's friends house.

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Easy now.

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I won't mention any names.

[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_04]: But it was New Year's and the dad-

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_04]: You were married?

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, before he was married.

[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And the dad would have been in his 40s

[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_04]: and I remember we were all drinking

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_04]: and he just, he shot for shot for shot for shot.

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I'm at 18 thinking

[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm king of the world here.

[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Hammered, wasted, throw it up all this

[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_04]: and I remember he woke us up

[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_04]: at like five o'clock in the morning

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_04]: because he had to go to work.

[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And we went to bed at like two

[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_04]: and this man was like

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_04]: didn't face him at all.

[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And now I'm like, oh no, I get it.

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_04]: So did you guys sleep in the same bed or?

[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_04]: That's not the point of the story at all.

[00:23:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I know but

[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm just curious.

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like a big sleepover in the basement.

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Everybody just kind of passed out.

[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I was hammered drunk.

[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_03]: So did he kiss you?

[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, it was a fun anecdote

[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_03]: and now you've ruined it.

[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just asking questions that people want to know.

[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay Joe Rogan.

[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_05]: By the way, you've got kids that you're not their dad clearly.

[00:23:54] Jesus.

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean because they told you

[00:23:56] [SPEAKER_05]: they told you you're not their dad.

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_05]: That's very true.

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Would you host a party

[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_05]: for them and their kids to drink?

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_05]: And would you do shots with them at 18?

[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Do you think you would?

[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_05]: No, no.

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Is it funny at 18 you thought they were the coolest dads?

[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Looking back I'm like

[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_04]: that's not a great example.

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_05]: But at the time you're like

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_05]: these guys are freaking cool.

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_05]: This dad is awesome.

[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm like is that a real Rolex?

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_04]: No, that's fake it looks real.

[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Anyway.

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Nate what's the last movie you saw?

[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Last movie I saw was a movie that I was

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_05]: assigned to.

[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Now let's be clear

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Was it the movie that you were assigned

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_03]: that you watched?

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Because I'm pretty sure we found out on the way down

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_03]: to record this podcast that you didn't

[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_03]: watch the movie you were assigned.

[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_03]: You thought you were assigned.

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I was assigned to the movie starring Denzel

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Washington with the word man.

[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_03]: And honestly I'm kind of surprised

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_03]: it worked out this way because

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_03]: you still got to watch a good movie

[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_03]: with Denzel Washington.

[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't the movie I wanted you to watch

[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_03]: but I'm not mad that you watched it.

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Also just can't believe the half assery

[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_04]: that goes into this because

[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not I'm definitely got to scroll back

[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_04]: to my text there

[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_04]: and the title is listening.

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm pretty sure it's this one.

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And honestly he probably thought

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not joking Brad I think he went like

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not sure it's this one

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_04]: and still didn't go back and look.

[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Our listeners don't know this

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_05]: because they're not in our text.

[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_05]: We text a lot.

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Not as much as we used to.

[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_05]: You want to talk about something or what?

[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just saying I only know

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_03]: ever since Nate got a girlfriend

[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_03]: and Ben got two kids that aren't really his

[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_03]: that would have been a lot less texted around.

[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_03]: And sure

[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe it's because my girlfriend's not

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_03]: and so I have a lot of spare time in my hands

[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_03]: and I'm sitting here just hoping I can text

[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_03]: my buddies and I just don't get any more

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_03]: satisfaction from it the way that I used to.

[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_05]: All right that's not true if I look at our

[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_04]: text right now.

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Actually it's a lot of Brad Brad Brad

[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_04]: then brent says hello send send the links

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_03]: no response hey guys what are we recording

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_04]: do you want to do assignments

[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_04]: also my funny the funniest of our that Brad

[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_04]: sends so he'll send one on all right

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_04]: there's a lot of great remember tomorrow

[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_04]: as we talked about 7 p.m.

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_03]: See you there yeah but sometimes I'll try and do it

[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_03]: in a way that makes it sound like I'm excited like

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_03]: can't wait to pocket with you guys tomorrow

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_03]: at seven o'clock on Monday September

[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_03]: please don't be on me I need this friendship

[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_05]: by the way I was feeling like

[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_05]: there was an equal amount of pain

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_05]: sure with all three of us

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_05]: and clearly right now Brad is carrying

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_05]: a lot of the way up he sure is

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_05]: now I had

[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_05]: a lot going on I did too

[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_03]: trust you know I've been I know

[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I know did because I got

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_03]: see been kind of action and there was some

[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_03]: stuff that was going on they don't know what you're doing

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I got a family

[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_03]: they're not around all the time

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_05]: half the time they are and they do take

[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_05]: her and the other half the time

[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I text you man on fire

[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_03]: so you watch what do I

[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_04]: should you watch Man on Fire right

[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_04]: because that's the movie we gave you

[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_05]: that way by the way you need to be

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_05]: careful tonight all right because

[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't I got real I got

[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_05]: I thought maybe I get away with it a little bit

[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_05]: don't worry we'll get back to you buddy

[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_05]: his time's coming don't worry

[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_04]: everybody don't worry

[00:27:14] [SPEAKER_03]: don't worry hey you'll get

[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_05]: your come okay so you'll get your for now

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_03]: don't worry Papa's got two belts don't worry

[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_03]: about it

[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_03]: well for now fuck

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_04]: it I'm the kid on waiting on that second

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_04]: belt so hey fuckface

[00:27:27] [SPEAKER_04]: you watch the stupid fucking movie we gave

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_04]: you

[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_04]: jack it all up and make me a bad person

[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_05]: I watched the movie I was

[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_05]: given

[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_05]: starting to

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Washington with

[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_05]: the word man in it yep

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_05]: from 2006

[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_05]: directed by Spike Lee

[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_05]: it's a movie called inside man

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_03]: you were supposed to watch the 2004 movie

[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Man on Fire directed by Tony Scott

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_03]: but we'll get to that

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_05]: a different day I guess this

[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_05]: film stars

[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Denzel Washington

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_05]: and Clive Owen and Jody Foster

[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_05]: what happened to Clive Owen

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_05]: I liked him he's still kind of around

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah but he went you know 2010

[00:28:10] [SPEAKER_04]: was like

[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_04]: it some of it I think is they

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_03]: they stopped making

[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_03]: some of the movies that he was making

[00:28:18] [SPEAKER_03]: at the time like

[00:28:20] [SPEAKER_03]: huge blockbusters but like kind of like

[00:28:22] [SPEAKER_03]: shoot them up mid-level action

[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_05]: yeah I mean since city though

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_05]: that guy since

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_05]: city inside man

[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_05]: we do you think children of men was like

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_05]: at children of men is the best

[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_04]: movie ever because the movie

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_04]: itself is tremendous

[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_04]: but that man's really good

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_04]: and he's great in it yeah it's so like

[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_04]: after children of men we've got

[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_04]: shoot them up was that good it's okay

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_04]: it's a it's a it's bombastic and silly

[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_04]: and that's why I like it the international

[00:28:50] [SPEAKER_05]: yeah duplicity

[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_05]: the boys are back

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_05]: I've heard of it I'm sure

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_05]: trust killer elite

[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_05]: so that's when we started

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_05]: rolling on B-movie territory

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_04]: right after children of men right

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_04]: you would think that he'd still have

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_04]: a shingle to hang his head on you know

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_05]: particularly after children of men

[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_05]: he would be getting five or six good films

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_04]: maybe he filmed a couple of these around that time

[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_04]: and then maybe they just got released

[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_03]: but then what happened after that

[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_03]: at some point I think he was on track

[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_03]: to be James Bond and then Daniel Craig got it

[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_03]: instead and that might have been like a real

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_03]: shot in the dick for him well also Clive Owen

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_04]: probably went up for

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_04]: or was considered for a lot of the things

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_04]: that Gerard Butler got maybe around that time

[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_05]: yeah Jerry Butts

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_05]: and him are you know they can be pretty

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_03]: similar anyway Inside Man

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_03]: it's a heist movie yeah

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_05]: so this is a lot of fun love this

[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_05]: film Spike Lee

[00:29:43] [SPEAKER_05]: that guy he can direct a film

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_04]: again and she's got a future

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_05]: so this films about

[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_05]: a heist

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_05]: genuinely a heist

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_05]: a bank heist but it's done and told in a way

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_05]: that it keeps you on your

[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_05]: seat right there's a mystery

[00:30:01] [SPEAKER_05]: yeah exactly you don't understand why

[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_05]: but what I loved about it is

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_05]: you've seen a lot of

[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_05]: I've seen a lot of heist movies and I've seen

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_05]: films that kind of do one of my favorite genres

[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_05]: by the way we love a good heist film

[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_04]: what's your favorite

[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_04]: maybe

[00:30:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean I really do think

[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_04]: that Ocean's Eleven the remake Ocean's Eleven with George Clooney

[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_04]: is a very very good heist movie

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I like

[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_04]: usual suspects

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_04]: is probably way up there as far as

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_04]: that's not necessarily a heist movie

[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_04]: but the whole reveal is so fun

[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_04]: that I would still categorize like that

[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a sucker for the movie Heist

[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_04]: No, Heist is good

[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_04]: You mean Robert De Niro?

[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_04]: No that's the score

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_04]: isn't he also in Heist?

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Heist is Gene Hackman

[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_04]: and Danny DeVio

[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_04]: the score is Edward Norton, Marlon Brando

[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and Robert De Niro

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I thought Robert De Niro was also in Heist

[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_03]: but the score another good one

[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_04]: so anyway sorry Nate

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_04]: did me to

[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_05]: do you guys like the film Italian Job

[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_05]: with Mark Wahlberg because I do

[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_05]: I think it's fun

[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_05]: I think they could have

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_05]: I was really hoping for one of the most enjoyable

[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_05]: things that Mark Wahlberg is doing

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I was hoping for a sequel out of that

[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I think we all were

[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_04]: very very fun

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Charlie Saron, Donald Sutherland

[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_05]: what's his name

[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Bald Head guy

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Seth Green

[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh it's me and some Rob

[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Con

[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Scott Con

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_05]: oh that's why I'm confused

[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_03]: there are two movies called Heist

[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_03]: one of them has Gene Hackman

[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_03]: and Dan DeVito

[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_03]: the other one has Robert De Niro in it

[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_04]: when is Heist from

[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_04]: De Niro that's from like 2015

[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Heist with Gene Hackman is 2001

[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_03]: and Heist with

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_03]: De Niro is 2015

[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_04]: and the 25th one is not good

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_03]: but it's a good cast

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Dave Bautista

[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_03]: your favorite, Gina Carano

[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_03]: that one's not good

[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I haven't seen it

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_04]: so how was Inside Man

[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_05]: loved Inside Man

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_05]: again Heist

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_05]: How was Man on Fire?

[00:32:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Man on Fire was okay

[00:32:13] [SPEAKER_05]: but Inside Man was better I thought

[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_05]: because I actually watched Inside Man

[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_05]: next week I'll watch Man on Fire

[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_05]: it's not a perfect film

[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_05]: there's some elements there

[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_05]: that I understand like there's not

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_05]: not everything

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_05]: in every Heist film gets

[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_05]: like T-Crossed

[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_05]: I was reading some reviews of this

[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_05]: and

[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_04]: what about the security guard?

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_04]: why wouldn't you just go back in?

[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_05]: I tend to love Roger Deaver's

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_05]: reviews

[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I like Roger Deaver a lot

[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_05]: and I grew up watching

[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_05]: but he kind of points to some of those flaws

[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_05]: as like a criticism of the film

[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_05]: but when I was watching it though

[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_05]: because I don't read the reviews before I watch it

[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_05]: yeah it's something

[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_03]: if you don't think about it while you're watching it

[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_03]: then the movie has done a good job

[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't feel that way when I was watching it

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_03]: right and it's crazy to how that Nazi shit

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_03]: resonates even harder today too

[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_05]: I was thinking that actually

[00:33:07] [SPEAKER_05]: and

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_05]: so

[00:33:10] [SPEAKER_05]: I get a little nervous anytime like Jewishness

[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_05]: in banks

[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_05]: because we're such a right wing

[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_05]: such a right wing

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_05]: period right now

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_05]: well only one of us

[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_05]: but

[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_05]: it's such a weird time for that

[00:33:26] [SPEAKER_05]: and I'm like where is this gonna go

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_05]: fortunately it was on the opposite

[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_05]: but

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_05]: I really loved it

[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_05]: I love Christopher Plummer

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_05]: it was just all good

[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_05]: everyone everything did in this film

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_05]: was good

[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_05]: and at the end of this film

[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_05]: I was like this is just an enjoyable film

[00:33:47] [SPEAKER_05]: so

[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_05]: I wish you would have given me this film

[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I probably would have gotten around to it at some point

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_03]: but I'm not upset that you watched it

[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I wish you still would have watched Man of Fire

[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_05]: can you tell me this

[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_05]: are you more upset at me or Ben right now

[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_03]: oh yeah it's probably Ben

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_03]: here's the thing

[00:34:03] [SPEAKER_03]: you get paid to watch films

[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_03]: well sure

[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_03]: but also like you watched your movie

[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_03]: someone here

[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I did watch a movie

[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I was gonna say you can't say that

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_03]: he didn't watch his movie

[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_05]: you watched a movie

[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_05]: that was close to no

[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_03]: you came to the podcast

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_05]: I tried to bring myself

[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_05]: I tried to bring my whole self to this podcast

[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_03]: absolutely and I appreciate that you at least

[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_03]: like you prepare in some fashion

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_03]: I do

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_03]: you're dedicated to the cause

[00:34:34] [SPEAKER_03]: you love the podcast

[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_03]: I genuinely do and I love you

[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_03]: you put your best foot forward

[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_03]: not everyone on this podcast

[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_03]: does that

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_03]: does F. Gout

[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_03]: and if Gout was in your eyes

[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_03]: I think I would be more understanding

[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_03]: but it's

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_03]: he

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_03]: he rose a stink

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_03]: in the text thread

[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't even first of all

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_03]: raise a stink

[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_05]: yes you did

[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_05]: I will read

[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_03]: from the book of Ben

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_05]: from the book of Ben

[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_03]: because he also tried to put it on me

[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_03]: like it was my f**king fault

[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_03]: it was though

[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_03]: but not in a way where like

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't give you one

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I just gave one to Nate instead

[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_03]: because I didn't realize that I was supposed to give you

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_03]: what's up splittin' hairs

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_03]: or Nate was supposed to give you one and not me one

[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_03]: a little bit of a

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah let's say what Ben said

[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_05]: on Saturday at 10.40 AM

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_05]: which is a little late

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_05]: no 10.40 AM is over

[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_05]: well first of all

[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_03]: all you're doing is pinpointing that you didn't think of this earlier in the week

[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I just realized I was scrolling back to find out the movie

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_04]: sounds like your fault

[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_04]: and I was gonna go watch it

[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_04]: sounds like your fault

[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_05]: by the way

[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_05]: at 10.40 AM Ben responds to a text

[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_05]: from Brad from Saturday

[00:35:54] [SPEAKER_05]: at 9.35 AM

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_05]: so over 24 hours later

[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_04]: you mean Friday

[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Jesus Christ Nate

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_04]: no I don't respond to my text

[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_05]: anyway Ben says

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm good

[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_05]: and then Ben says

[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Nate why doesn't Brad love me

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_05]: he said you don't deserve a movie to watch

[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_05]: this weekend you piece of dog shit

[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_05]: it's true that I did text that

[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_04]: because Brad said that

[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_03]: doesn't that sound like he's whining

[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_05]: then Brad says

[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_05]: oh wait

[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_05]: somewhere I got my wires crossed

[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_05]: taking blame

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_05]: and Ben gave me blown away

[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_05]: and Nate was supposed to give Ben a movie

[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_05]: but I asked him for a movie last week too

[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_05]: so Nate is supposed to give

[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Ben a movie

[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_05]: since I gave Ben

[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_05]: the last one

[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Ben you can always take the movie

[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_03]: this is horrible

[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_05]: you're right

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_05]: thank you Ben

[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_05]: and I'll just watch it

[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_05]: too for good measure

[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_05]: have you seen that

[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Ben says I have not

[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Brad says cool

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_05]: there we go

[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_05]: that way we don't have to interrupt Nate's marathon

[00:37:07] [SPEAKER_04]: you know what Andy Tolski is a listener

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_04]: of this podcast

[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_04]: and he's my favorite commenter

[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_04]: because when he says something

[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_04]: it's not the deepest cut in the world

[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_04]: but it's something he heard

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_04]: he has such slim pickings this time

[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_04]: this is so boring

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Andy I'd like to personally apologize

[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I think you should apologize

[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_03]: to everybody for your laziness

[00:37:27] [SPEAKER_03]: and your lack of dedication

[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_03]: how much of your assigned movie did you watch

[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Ben

[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched a River Wild

[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_04]: and it's got the word river in it

[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_04]: so according to the Nate paradigm

[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm fine

[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_05]: by the way you didn't watch a River Wild

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I did I watched a River Wild and I watched the remake

[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_03]: that was like four weeks ago

[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_05]: that was a long time ago

[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_03]: how much of a River Runs did you watch Ben

[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_03]: 20 minutes

[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_03]: how many other things did you watch this week

[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_03]: two

[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_04]: both of them were before I got a movie

[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_04]: assigned to me

[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_05]: but that's also your fault

[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_05]: for the record

[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_05]: I do want to say

[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_05]: I did give Brad that film earlier in the week

[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_05]: so I wasn't late to give a film

[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_05]: but Brad said I owe him a film

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_03]: you would have had your movie

[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_03]: on time if you would have asked for it

[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_03]: it's not how it works you need to know it

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_04]: you didn't get a film

[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_04]: hey you didn't get a film

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_04]: the first 20 minutes

[00:38:22] [SPEAKER_04]: of a River Runs through it

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_04]: is boring as shit

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_04]: and that's all I have to say about that

[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_04]: why because time is scared

[00:38:30] [SPEAKER_04]: hopefully it gets better

[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_03]: first of all I think Ben is going to hate this movie

[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_03]: this is not a movie for Ben

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't have given this

[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't give Ben this movie

[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_04]: this is some Bible Belt preacher

[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_04]: teaching fly fishing to

[00:38:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Joseph Gordon Leavitt

[00:38:45] [SPEAKER_03]: who gives a shit

[00:38:46] [SPEAKER_03]: he didn't even get to the part of the movie

[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_03]: so I watched the River Runs through

[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_03]: and I would like to make a joke

[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_03]: at first before I get into appreciating the movie

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_03]: that thank you Nate for assigning me

[00:38:57] [SPEAKER_03]: a book to watch

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_03]: but that's a mean reaction

[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_03]: to this but this movie is actually very good

[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_03]: thank you

[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_03]: what's the book part

[00:39:07] [SPEAKER_03]: when you watch a movie

[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_03]: it plays out very much like

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_03]: as if you were reading a book

[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_03]: it's that boring

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_03]: no I mean it is dry

[00:39:17] [SPEAKER_03]: it's just it's a very

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_03]: standard

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_03]: it's a very standard

[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_03]: family drama

[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_03]: that's like set

[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_03]: you're just following these two brothers

[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_05]: pretty popular in the 90s

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_05]: there's a lot of these movies out there

[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I kind of miss them honestly

[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I've actually always liked movies like this

[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_05]: no you do have to be a little patient with this film

[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_03]: but that's I like movies like that

[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't need

[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_03]: John Wick shooting guns at me

[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Vampire sucking on titties

[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Ben always needs

[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I just love it when Brad comes out of any film

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_04]: and he's like you know what

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I love these type of movies

[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_04]: where it feels like I was reading a book for two hours

[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_04]: that's just the best kind of movie

[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_03]: well that's kind of something he doesn't like to read though

[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_03]: you know he has to listen to his books

[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_03]: to learn more about information

[00:40:03] [SPEAKER_03]: but in this world do you think that

[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_03]: reading a book for two hours passes for good entertainment

[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_04]: like a movie should

[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_03]: this is a really good example

[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_03]: of like

[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_03]: just a family drama where like

[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_03]: you have these two brothers

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_03]: played by Craig Shephard and Brad Pitt

[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_03]: and they get young Brad Pitt too

[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_03]: good looking Brad Pitt

[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_03]: just watching them

[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_03]: as they like grow up

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_03]: and figure out their lives

[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_03]: the setting is gorgeous too

[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_05]: it is almost a character of this film

[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Missoula, Missouri

[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Montana

[00:40:38] [SPEAKER_05]: there's not a lot of films set there

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_05]: it just feels very

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_05]: set to the space it's in

[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah it's just a very home grown movie

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_03]: and I appreciate

[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_03]: this kind of low key story

[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_03]: the one thing that was interesting

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_03]: is like I was kind of waiting

[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_03]: even halfway through the movie for like

[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_03]: something terrible to happen

[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_03]: because it feels like a kind of movie

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_03]: where they're going to have to endure these hardships

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_03]: but it's just for the most part

[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_03]: normal life stuff of them

[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_03]: figuring shit out

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_03]: but no this is not a Ben movie

[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_04]: 20 minutes in nobody slipped on a banana peel

[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_04]: not one

[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_04]: plenty of opportunity by the way

[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_03]: they're running a lot of running

[00:41:16] [SPEAKER_03]: bananas were pretty expensive import around this time

[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_03]: so it's true

[00:41:19] [SPEAKER_03]: especially in Montana

[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_05]: it's acted well

[00:41:23] [SPEAKER_05]: I think the cinematography is beautiful

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_03]: one thing to find strange is

[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_03]: four different people

[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_03]: essentially playing the same character

[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_03]: because even though Robert Redford is doing the voice over

[00:41:34] [SPEAKER_03]: from the perspective of the main director

[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_03]: the old man that

[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe should have been played by Robert Redford

[00:41:40] [SPEAKER_03]: is not Robert Redford

[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_03]: at the end of this movie

[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I wonder if it's because Robert Redford has

[00:41:46] [SPEAKER_04]: an older voice

[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_04]: but maybe this was the 90s

[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_04]: he wasn't that elderly yet

[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe but they can make him look elderly

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_03]: because they have a whole team of makeup people

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_03]: who do that for a living

[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe he just got hired to do the voice

[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_03]: NBC show

[00:42:01] [SPEAKER_04]: oh yeah he directed it

[00:42:02] [SPEAKER_05]: yeah so this film

[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_05]: he had a lot going on

[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_05]: he was directing Brad Pitt's character is Norman

[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_05]: and he

[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_05]: is based on a real life

[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_05]: person

[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Paul isn't it

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_05]: we're going to get into this huh

[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_05]: one of them is Norman

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_05]: because it's either Brad Pitt or his brother

[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_05]: but

[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_05]: it's a real life character that's a University of Chicago

[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_05]: professor

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_05]: who wrote Brad Pitt as Paul

[00:42:31] [SPEAKER_05]: the book about this

[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_05]: and so

[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_05]: and it is just some life lessons

[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_05]: it's patience

[00:42:38] [SPEAKER_05]: about this is

[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_05]: the story of complicated families

[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_05]: but families

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_05]: and I liked this film

[00:42:48] [SPEAKER_05]: actually was young when I saw this film

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_05]: I love this film

[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_05]: and I remember being 13 or so watching this film

[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_05]: 12 or 13

[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_05]: and being caught up in

[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_05]: the setting of it

[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_05]: the illustrative

[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_05]: kind of nature of fly fishing in this

[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_05]: and actually thinking

[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_05]: wow Brad Pitt

[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_05]: that guy

[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_05]: just starting to come up

[00:43:12] [SPEAKER_05]: and loving this film

[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_03]: and like 20 minutes into it

[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_03]: where Ben is

[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't have given this film

[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I came here

[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_03]: knowing he wasn't going to have watched it

[00:43:27] [SPEAKER_03]: because there was no way he would have made time to get through it

[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_04]: no

[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_04]: listen

[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched Fiddler

[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched other boring shit

[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_04]: but I sat through

[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_04]: not this time though

[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_03]: so when did the disrespect start taking over your life

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_04]: pretty much when you start giving me movies

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_04]: instead of Nate

[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't give you this movie

[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_04]: very technically you can't do that

[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I gave that to you and you then

[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I told him if you wanted one because I didn't know when you were going to respond

[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_03]: because I don't get response to my text anymore

[00:43:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought oh this is a movie

[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_04]: that's not really given to me

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_04]: so like it doesn't really matter if I watch it

[00:44:01] [SPEAKER_04]: it's not that important to them

[00:44:02] [SPEAKER_04]: so go out of their way to find something that I would like

[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_04]: or like to think about me as a person

[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_04]: it felt very secondhand shopped

[00:44:10] [SPEAKER_04]: so that's why I just kind of

[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_04]: that's kind of cute that's coming up with that

[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_03]: excuse now

[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_05]: you guys don't often think about

[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_05]: whether I'm going to enjoy a film

[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_03]: actually that's not true even if I give you something

[00:44:20] [SPEAKER_03]: that I know it's a subject that you are terrified of

[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_03]: but I know you're going to come out of the other side

[00:44:25] [SPEAKER_03]: and like it

[00:44:27] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't always

[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_05]: but you give me space

[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't remember

[00:44:32] [SPEAKER_05]: yeah exactly

[00:44:34] [SPEAKER_05]: I gave you gravity I think

[00:44:35] [SPEAKER_04]: no I'm pretty sure I gave you gravity

[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I gave you aliens

[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_03]: we both gave them alien and alien

[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_03]: I gave them alien

[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't love

[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_05]: space films

[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_03]: anyway

[00:44:50] [SPEAKER_03]: did you watch anything else

[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_05]: no

[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_05]: I thought we were on him

[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_03]: we were finishing you

[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_03]: we just brought up a river on Sirot because we knew that he wasn't going to say anything about it

[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_04]: but no I did not

[00:45:01] [SPEAKER_04]: how about you Brad did you besides the river run through

[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_03]: oh yeah

[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_03]: did you watch the movie I gave you

[00:45:06] [SPEAKER_03]: not only did I watch the movie you gave me

[00:45:08] [SPEAKER_03]: but I watched the movie that Nate gave me

[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_03]: because I'm dedicated to this podcast

[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_03]: what river on Sirot

[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah I just talked about it

[00:45:16] [SPEAKER_03]: did we just have a whole fun conversation about this

[00:45:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I just remember who gave it to anybody

[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't care

[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_05]: I gave it to Brad

[00:45:21] [SPEAKER_05]: well that's the problem

[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_05]: he re-gifted my film

[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_05]: but I still watched it

[00:45:28] [SPEAKER_04]: your retelling of that fucking text message

[00:45:30] [SPEAKER_04]: is the low point of this podcast

[00:45:32] [SPEAKER_04]: you reading the details

[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_04]: of oh I must have got my wires crossed

[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know I think he got

[00:45:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I almost got my gun out and blew

[00:45:41] [SPEAKER_04]: both of you away and then took my own life

[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_04]: that's an every statement

[00:45:45] [SPEAKER_04]: that's how terrible that was

[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_03]: the thing is Nate really captured

[00:45:48] [SPEAKER_03]: the lack of pathos

[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_03]: in your general demeanour

[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_03]: if I knew what that meant

[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_03]: I would be mad

[00:45:54] [SPEAKER_05]: but also Ben's next text

[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_05]: is it pathos

[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_05]: do you see Nate

[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_05]: how he just easily weasels his way out of all

[00:46:02] [SPEAKER_05]: responsibility

[00:46:04] [SPEAKER_05]: but I didn't though

[00:46:06] [SPEAKER_04]: you just passed the buck

[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_03]: I said I was still gonna watch that movie

[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I was the only one who figured it out

[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_03]: otherwise it was sat there

[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_03]: what else did you watch

[00:46:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Ben later assigned me top gun

[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_03]: because you live top scared

[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_05]: what else did you watch

[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_03]: you're a joke

[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_03]: you're a sack of shit

[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_03]: so I'm gonna talk about the movies that I saw in theaters

[00:46:34] [SPEAKER_04]: hey did I ever tell you

[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_04]: my ex-girlfriend

[00:46:37] [SPEAKER_04]: the very first time she heard the podcast

[00:46:39] [SPEAKER_04]: she

[00:46:40] [SPEAKER_04]: questioned our relationship

[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_04]: smart

[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_04]: is it like that every time

[00:46:46] [SPEAKER_04]: do you I mean I thought you and Fred were friends

[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_04]: oh our relationship

[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah

[00:46:52] [SPEAKER_04]: no she questioned our relationship

[00:46:54] [SPEAKER_04]: it's just like you're the dumbest person

[00:46:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I've ever known now

[00:46:58] [SPEAKER_04]: no in Bailey first heard

[00:47:00] [SPEAKER_04]: go flicks yourself

[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_04]: we had a very serious conversation

[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and she was like are you guys okay

[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_04]: like is that really how you

[00:47:07] [SPEAKER_04]: do you choose that relationship

[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_05]: I usually tell people you guys aren't friends though

[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_05]: it's so fun though

[00:47:11] [SPEAKER_05]: you're more lovers than friends

[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_03]: we've been kind of that several times where people don't know how we interact

[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_03]: and they think they were actually fighting

[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_03]: but we're really just fucking around each other

[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_04]: good good good friend of mine

[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_04]: and you know him pretty well as well now

[00:47:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Dan White from the arcade

[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_04]: he's a professional pinball player that's how I met him

[00:47:26] [SPEAKER_04]: he's the probably I call him the nicest guy in pinball

[00:47:29] [SPEAKER_04]: like he's just a gem of human being

[00:47:32] [SPEAKER_04]: and the awkwardness

[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_04]: of Brad and I playing pinball

[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_04]: kind of around each other

[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_04]: and really just giving each other

[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_04]: such a hard just like fuck you

[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_04]: you piece of shit

[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_04]: to fuck out of my way fat ass

[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_04]: hardcore

[00:47:47] [SPEAKER_04]: he took a step back he didn't know how to respond

[00:47:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and I forget that we

[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_04]: people don't know that dynamic

[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_04]: so for the listener I fucking hate this guy

[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_03]: oh yeah Ben is a

[00:47:58] [SPEAKER_03]: fucking child

[00:48:00] [SPEAKER_03]: he shits his pants

[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_03]: and I gotta clean up after it

[00:48:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I went to the theaters several times

[00:48:07] [SPEAKER_03]: over the past week

[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_03]: and I saw Speak No Evil

[00:48:12] [SPEAKER_03]: the new horror thriller

[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_03]: starring James McAvoy

[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_03]: and Mackenzie Davis

[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_03]: and Scoot McNair

[00:48:20] [SPEAKER_04]: and wait Scoot McNair

[00:48:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Scoot McNair

[00:48:24] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah the guy from the Batman movie

[00:48:26] [SPEAKER_04]: where he blows up

[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_03]: correct it's a good pull

[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_03]: but yeah so this is actually

[00:48:31] [SPEAKER_03]: a remake of a foreign film

[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_03]: but it's a great remake

[00:48:35] [SPEAKER_03]: I haven't seen the original

[00:48:36] [SPEAKER_03]: but I want to go watch the original

[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_03]: and this one just worked

[00:48:40] [SPEAKER_05]: oh yeah this is the one where in the trailer

[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_05]: they are

[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_05]: like this couple goes to visit a couple

[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_03]: and it just kind of starts going downhill

[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_03]: and they get more uneasy

[00:48:51] [SPEAKER_03]: this kind of may be uneasy

[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_03]: MackAvoy is so good and this kind of role

[00:48:54] [SPEAKER_03]: as he slowly becomes more and more unhinged

[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_03]: like just the insane looking

[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_03]: his eyes

[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_04]: some acquaintance on Facebook was like

[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_04]: we were so excited from the trailer

[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and then we went to go see it

[00:49:05] [SPEAKER_04]: it just wasn't very scary

[00:49:07] [SPEAKER_04]: so is it a scary movie?

[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_03]: it's not scary in the sense of

[00:49:10] [SPEAKER_03]: that main line stream horror movies are

[00:49:14] [SPEAKER_03]: it's suspenseful

[00:49:16] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah like it's very uneasy

[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_03]: like it's

[00:49:19] [SPEAKER_04]: would you say that's the pathos of the movie?

[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_04]: or the pathos

[00:49:25] [SPEAKER_04]: no we're just gonna keep doing stupid bits

[00:49:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm still just trying to figure out what that word means

[00:49:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I also saw Transformers 1

[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_03]: cause

[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I heard nothing but good things

[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_03]: the one with the child above?

[00:49:36] [SPEAKER_03]: no

[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_03]: this is the new animated version of Transformers

[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_05]: I know you hate the animation from the trailer

[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_05]: but I did hate it

[00:49:45] [SPEAKER_03]: and I kept seeing great reviews

[00:49:47] [SPEAKER_03]: from people

[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_03]: whose opinion I respect

[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_03]: especially when it comes to animated movies

[00:49:51] [SPEAKER_03]: you're welcome

[00:49:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I needed to go see it

[00:49:57] [SPEAKER_03]: honestly it's just okay

[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it's particularly great

[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_03]: the animation is not as bad as I thought it was

[00:50:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm still very frustrated by the faces

[00:50:04] [SPEAKER_03]: the way that they design

[00:50:06] [SPEAKER_03]: the character faces for the Transformers

[00:50:08] [SPEAKER_03]: they just feel very plastic

[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_03]: and not super emotive

[00:50:11] [SPEAKER_03]: the voice work is solid

[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_03]: and the environment and the action is incredibly well done

[00:50:15] [SPEAKER_03]: but I don't know if it's just because

[00:50:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't care about Transformers as much

[00:50:19] [SPEAKER_03]: as certain people

[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_04]: do you think

[00:50:23] [SPEAKER_04]: this is a real question

[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_04]: do you think

[00:50:26] [SPEAKER_04]: that Brad

[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_04]: has such an opinion on the trailer

[00:50:31] [SPEAKER_04]: he just doesn't want to be wrong

[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_04]: even if he loved this movie

[00:50:34] [SPEAKER_04]: he'd just have to say

[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_04]: here's the good points about it but it was just fine

[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_04]: because he can't be wrong

[00:50:40] [SPEAKER_03]: there are so many times where I've seen the trailer

[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_03]: where I ended up loving the movie

[00:50:44] [SPEAKER_03]: name 4

[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_03]: okay name 1

[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_03]: anyway Transformers 1

[00:50:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I've acted on a one though he can't do it

[00:50:52] [SPEAKER_05]: but also I do think there's times

[00:50:54] [SPEAKER_05]: where you go into a film

[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_05]: and you have already predetermined

[00:50:58] [SPEAKER_04]: even though you say

[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm able to do it

[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm actually seriously going to get

[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to get super pissed off

[00:51:06] [SPEAKER_03]: that is the opposite of my job

[00:51:09] [SPEAKER_03]: and I will fucking destroy you

[00:51:11] [SPEAKER_03]: no

[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I go into every movie wanting it to be good

[00:51:14] [SPEAKER_03]: even I'm expecting it to be bad

[00:51:16] [SPEAKER_03]: because A. I would love to be surprised

[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_03]: and I would much rather see a good movie

[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_03]: than see a movie that I think that's gonna be shitty

[00:51:21] [SPEAKER_04]: but over everything else you'd much rather be right

[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_03]: no honestly

[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_03]: when it comes to movies especially not

[00:51:28] [SPEAKER_03]: especially not

[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_03]: especially not

[00:51:30] [SPEAKER_05]: my evidence counter to that

[00:51:34] [SPEAKER_05]: is Transformers 1

[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_05]: where you went in

[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_05]: with a preconceived notion

[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_03]: and honestly I went in

[00:51:41] [SPEAKER_03]: wanting to like it even more

[00:51:43] [SPEAKER_03]: because of all the different people that I saw

[00:51:45] [SPEAKER_03]: giving it so much praise

[00:51:46] [SPEAKER_03]: oh well then maybe it's actually gonna impress me

[00:51:49] [SPEAKER_03]: and there are things that are good about it

[00:51:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I do think Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry

[00:51:53] [SPEAKER_03]: are really good as

[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_03]: the characters that basically become Optimus Prime

[00:51:57] [SPEAKER_03]: and Megatron

[00:51:58] [SPEAKER_03]: and there is a decent story at the center of it

[00:52:01] [SPEAKER_03]: but it just wasn't enough to like

[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_03]: wow me like something like

[00:52:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse

[00:52:07] [SPEAKER_03]: or even like the Lego movie or something like that

[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_05]: what about TMNT

[00:52:11] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah that's another one

[00:52:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I absolutely adored that movie

[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_03]: and for me I think that I would have appreciated

[00:52:16] [SPEAKER_03]: something that felt a little more

[00:52:18] [SPEAKER_03]: innovative and I think that it's

[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_03]: both a mix of just not liking the animation as much

[00:52:22] [SPEAKER_04]: they're just running out of animation styles

[00:52:24] [SPEAKER_04]: you just can't do it anymore

[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_03]: there's part of me that wishes

[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_03]: this would have been like a 1980s

[00:52:30] [SPEAKER_03]: 3D cell animated kind of style thing

[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_03]: that was similar to old school cartoons

[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_03]: but with a 3D contemporary vibe

[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_03]: to it in a way

[00:52:38] [SPEAKER_03]: but I also think it's just like

[00:52:40] [SPEAKER_03]: there's not a lot of

[00:52:42] [SPEAKER_03]: interesting story at the center of Transformers

[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_05]: I hope you're happy though because they were planning

[00:52:47] [SPEAKER_05]: a sequel and now have canceled it

[00:52:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean is that true?

[00:52:50] [SPEAKER_04]: See that's the way it's been made all the time

[00:52:53] [SPEAKER_03]: when did they say that they were

[00:52:53] [SPEAKER_03]: actually Transformers won't originally

[00:52:57] [SPEAKER_04]: title Transformers in Uendo

[00:52:59] [SPEAKER_04]: it just said that it's

[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Archipelago

[00:53:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't trust Archipelago

[00:53:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I can't imagine it would happen now

[00:53:06] [SPEAKER_03]: because it did not do well at the box office

[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice beat it out

[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_03]: in its third weekend

[00:53:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice beat it out

[00:53:13] [SPEAKER_03]: It has not done well

[00:53:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I think that's just more as far as like

[00:53:16] [SPEAKER_03]: the tired legs of the Transformers franchise

[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_03]: than it is this particular movie

[00:53:20] [SPEAKER_05]: It is I think that's the hard thing

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Blood from a turnip at this point

[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Everyone's kind of done with them

[00:53:27] [SPEAKER_03]: I also saw Super Man

[00:53:29] [SPEAKER_03]: the Christopher Reeve story

[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_03]: which was a new documentary

[00:53:32] [SPEAKER_03]: that hit theaters as a fathom event

[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_03]: and will be streaming on max

[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_03]: sometime in the near future

[00:53:38] [SPEAKER_03]: and this is just the story

[00:53:40] [SPEAKER_03]: of Christopher Reeve and his career

[00:53:42] [SPEAKER_03]: and how he became Superman

[00:53:43] [SPEAKER_03]: and then unfortunately had a terrible accident

[00:53:46] [SPEAKER_03]: that left him completely

[00:53:48] [SPEAKER_03]: paralyzed from the neck down

[00:53:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Don't fuck with horses man

[00:53:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Horses scare me

[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_04]: They're huge

[00:53:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Equine beasts

[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll fuck with a horse

[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_04]: No you won't

[00:54:00] [SPEAKER_04]: We know you will

[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_03]: You said it

[00:54:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Not in the way that you think

[00:54:06] [SPEAKER_04]: We're not going to do anything with horses

[00:54:08] [SPEAKER_03]: We're talking about butt stuff

[00:54:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Can that be the podcast title?

[00:54:14] [SPEAKER_03]: That's actually my new Oreo

[00:54:15] [SPEAKER_03]: that I'm gonna pitch

[00:54:18] [SPEAKER_05]: That bed's gonna dry next to me

[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Nooo

[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_03]: You think you're throwing up

[00:54:23] [SPEAKER_03]: The water in the teeth

[00:54:26] [SPEAKER_03]: But no

[00:54:26] [SPEAKER_03]: This was a really

[00:54:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Touching heart breaking

[00:54:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Interesting too

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_03]: There's just things I didn't know about him

[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_03]: as a person

[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Any anecdotes with Robin Williams?

[00:54:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Their relationship was legendary

[00:54:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Some of the best stuff comes from

[00:54:42] [SPEAKER_03]: runners with Robin Williams

[00:54:43] [SPEAKER_03]: How did they become friends?

[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_03]: They went to school together

[00:54:47] [SPEAKER_03]: They were at Juilliard

[00:54:50] [SPEAKER_05]: They knew each other before they were famous

[00:54:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure the documentary touches on this

[00:54:54] [SPEAKER_04]: part of it but if I remember correctly

[00:54:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Robin Williams was one of the first people

[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_04]: to come to the hospital to visit him

[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_04]: He came in and did a Russian doctor

[00:55:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Act like a proctologist

[00:55:04] [SPEAKER_03]: As only Robin Williams

[00:55:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Great story

[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Glenn Close

[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Susan Sarandon

[00:55:11] [SPEAKER_03]: A lot of famous talking heads

[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_03]: All three of his kids are a big part of it

[00:55:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Listening to them recount

[00:55:18] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not just Christopher Reeve

[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_03]: that had a tragic life

[00:55:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Dana Reeve died very shortly after

[00:55:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Chris did

[00:55:24] [SPEAKER_03]: They just had a rough go of it

[00:55:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Of course

[00:55:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Think about that

[00:55:30] [SPEAKER_04]: You killed someone who was played Superman

[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It's pretty rough

[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Cancer

[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_02]: It was a tank enough jump

[00:55:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god

[00:55:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Anyway

[00:55:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't care it's funny

[00:55:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I also watched Never Let Go

[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what Christopher Reeve should have done

[00:55:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Jesus Christ

[00:55:54] [SPEAKER_03]: What are you doing?

[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just making jokes man

[00:55:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I love it

[00:55:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I love a good insensitive joke

[00:56:02] [SPEAKER_03]: about a dead man

[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_04]: It's fine

[00:56:05] [SPEAKER_04]: We're all heaven

[00:56:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen, I respect Christopher

[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Sounds like it

[00:56:11] [SPEAKER_04]: He would laugh at that joke

[00:56:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know

[00:56:15] [SPEAKER_05]: He used me suits

[00:56:16] [SPEAKER_03]: He used to take up a lot of machines

[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Fucker

[00:56:20] [SPEAKER_05]: I can't do that

[00:56:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I watched Never Let Go

[00:56:24] [SPEAKER_03]: A new horror thriller starring Halle Berry

[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_03]: The premise is basically

[00:56:29] [SPEAKER_03]: She's in a house

[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_03]: with her two young sons

[00:56:33] [SPEAKER_03]: And

[00:56:35] [SPEAKER_03]: There's some kind of evil presence

[00:56:37] [SPEAKER_03]: in the wood surrounding them

[00:56:38] [SPEAKER_03]: and the only way they can stay safe

[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_03]: is by having these ropes

[00:56:42] [SPEAKER_03]: tied around them

[00:56:43] [SPEAKER_03]: that are tied to the house

[00:56:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Somehow keeps them safe

[00:56:47] [SPEAKER_03]: as long as the rope is tied to it

[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Weird premise

[00:56:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Does it make sense?

[00:56:54] [SPEAKER_04]: The way they shoot it

[00:56:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah

[00:56:56] [SPEAKER_03]: The story itself has some interesting

[00:56:59] [SPEAKER_03]: turns and things you don't expect

[00:57:01] [SPEAKER_03]: The story keeps you guessing

[00:57:04] [SPEAKER_03]: and wondering exactly what's going on

[00:57:06] [SPEAKER_03]: It's really compelling

[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of like a quiet place

[00:57:09] [SPEAKER_03]: but with a twist

[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_03]: where you're not sure what's happening

[00:57:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Really thought you were going to say

[00:57:14] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like the quiet place but with ropes

[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Kind of

[00:57:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Authentic question here

[00:57:21] [SPEAKER_05]: I had a huge crush on Halle Berry

[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_03]: She looks like shit in this movie

[00:57:26] [SPEAKER_05]: That's what I was asking

[00:57:27] [SPEAKER_05]: But she's supposed to be eight now

[00:57:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Not because she's old at all

[00:57:30] [SPEAKER_03]: If you follow Halle Berry on Instagram

[00:57:32] [SPEAKER_03]: like I do

[00:57:34] [SPEAKER_03]: You know that she still looks banging

[00:57:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Brad, how many female celebrities

[00:57:38] [SPEAKER_04]: do you follow on Instagram?

[00:57:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Halle Berry, Britney Spears

[00:57:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Dua Lipa

[00:57:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't do this because it's a pretty girl night

[00:57:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Alexander Dario

[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_03]: No

[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Selma Hayek

[00:57:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Over or under 50

[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_03]: For real?

[00:57:54] [SPEAKER_03]: You have to be a special girl

[00:57:59] [SPEAKER_03]: But she's not supposed to look

[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_03]: good in this movie

[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_03]: They live in the middle of a cabin

[00:58:02] [SPEAKER_03]: They're kind of like on their last bit of food

[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_03]: She's supposed to look

[00:58:07] [SPEAKER_03]: like Mel Noorash

[00:58:09] [SPEAKER_03]: No bikini scenes, Nate

[00:58:11] [SPEAKER_03]: So don't get excited

[00:58:12] [SPEAKER_03]: No swordfish action?

[00:58:14] [SPEAKER_03]: No, definitely no swordfish action

[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Huge Jackman

[00:58:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll bet you you were Jackman

[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I was huge

[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Medium

[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Small Jackman

[00:58:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Adequate Jackman

[00:58:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Adequate Jackman

[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_03]: That's my name

[00:58:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Adequate Jackman is a pretty good name

[00:58:34] [SPEAKER_03]: What else do you watch?

[00:58:35] [SPEAKER_03]: I also watched an American werewolf in London

[00:58:37] [SPEAKER_03]: for the first time

[00:58:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I'd never seen this

[00:58:41] [SPEAKER_03]: So good

[00:58:42] [SPEAKER_03]: So much more weird than I thought it was

[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, crazy

[00:58:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Legendary creature effects

[00:58:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Amazing creature effects

[00:58:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Still stunning creature effects

[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Incredible work

[00:58:54] [SPEAKER_03]: You mean the remake with Tom Evers

[00:58:56] [SPEAKER_03]: That's an American werewolf in Paris

[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_03]: No, I don't mean that one

[00:59:00] [SPEAKER_03]: But no, this movie is

[00:59:02] [SPEAKER_03]: So cool and so weird

[00:59:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I was so thrown off by the

[00:59:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Nazi creatures

[00:59:09] [SPEAKER_03]: that happen in his

[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_03]: little weird dream sequences

[00:59:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I was like what the fuck is going on

[00:59:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I wasn't expecting it to be

[00:59:15] [SPEAKER_03]: quite that weird

[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I was expecting to be a little bit more of a straightforward werewolf thing

[00:59:19] [SPEAKER_03]: But there's some interesting

[00:59:21] [SPEAKER_03]: metaphors there that ties into Jewish identity

[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_03]: and stuff like that

[00:59:25] [SPEAKER_03]: that I read about afterwards

[00:59:26] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, it's a great movie

[00:59:28] [SPEAKER_03]: I dug it a lot

[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_04]: People still talk about

[00:59:33] [SPEAKER_04]: the werewolf transformation

[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_04]: in this film as they should

[00:59:37] [SPEAKER_04]: It is a master class

[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_04]: in that

[00:59:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I remember when I first saw it

[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I was in college, I think

[00:59:43] [SPEAKER_04]: and I had just come off watching The Thing

[00:59:47] [SPEAKER_04]: for the first time

[00:59:47] [SPEAKER_04]: and it went down this trove

[00:59:51] [SPEAKER_04]: of monster movies

[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_04]: from the 70s, 80s and 90s

[00:59:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god, there are so many good ones

[00:59:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Rick Baker, Clyde Barker

[01:00:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Wes Anderson

[01:00:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Nope

[01:00:03] [SPEAKER_03]: What's Craven?

[01:00:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh I mean he's not really like

[01:00:06] [SPEAKER_03]: a creature, effects person

[01:00:08] [SPEAKER_03]: he just directed movies that had

[01:00:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought he had more to do with

[01:00:12] [SPEAKER_04]: not besides directing, I thought he actually did

[01:00:14] [SPEAKER_04]: have the sketch ideas for what they were going to become though

[01:00:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh I mean like any director

[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_03]: has sketches and stuff like that

[01:00:21] [SPEAKER_03]: but when it comes to doing the actual

[01:00:22] [SPEAKER_03]: practical effects, Craven is not an effects person

[01:00:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, interesting

[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah I like this movie a lot

[01:00:29] [SPEAKER_03]: It's the same John Landis as a piece of shit

[01:00:31] [SPEAKER_03]: but you know

[01:00:33] [SPEAKER_03]: and then one other movie I wanted to mention

[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_03]: because it's good and it's really

[01:00:37] [SPEAKER_03]: flowing under the weight

[01:00:37] [SPEAKER_03]: and I hope people will see it

[01:00:39] [SPEAKER_03]: is a movie called Snack Shack

[01:00:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh yeah I saw

[01:00:44] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't see this

[01:00:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah we talked about it a while back

[01:00:47] [SPEAKER_03]: and then I don't think any of us actually saw it at the time

[01:00:49] [SPEAKER_03]: but this is a movie

[01:00:50] [SPEAKER_03]: it's basically a coming of age

[01:00:52] [SPEAKER_03]: summer teen comedy

[01:00:54] [SPEAKER_03]: it's set in like the early

[01:00:57] [SPEAKER_03]: 90s

[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_03]: follows Gabriel Labelle

[01:00:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Which year on that train?

[01:01:01] [SPEAKER_03]: The Gabriel Labelle train? Oh 100%

[01:01:03] [SPEAKER_03]: This kid is going places, he's gonna be awesome

[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_03]: he's gonna be around for a long time

[01:01:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Incredible actor

[01:01:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Cut to next week where we find out he domestic violence

[01:01:11] [SPEAKER_04]: about 15 women

[01:01:12] [SPEAKER_05]: As they always do

[01:01:13] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I'll forgive him

[01:01:16] [SPEAKER_04]: First job of the majors

[01:01:17] [SPEAKER_04]: and now Gabriel Labelle

[01:01:19] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, Gabriel Labelle is great

[01:01:22] [SPEAKER_03]: and it's basically a two handed

[01:01:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know who that is

[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_03]: He's playing Lord Michael

[01:01:28] [SPEAKER_03]: in the Saturday Night Live movie

[01:01:29] [SPEAKER_03]: And he's the proxy for Steven Spielberg

[01:01:32] [SPEAKER_05]: When you went to Toronto to see

[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_05]: the sentence

[01:01:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I did just watch The Fableman

[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_04]: It's great isn't it

[01:01:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Fuck this movie I watched this week

[01:01:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I gotta tell you about

[01:01:43] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll get to it then

[01:01:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes he is

[01:01:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't recognize him either

[01:01:47] [SPEAKER_03]: He got a little bit

[01:01:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Thicker I guess you could say

[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Not chubby but he's aged

[01:01:55] [SPEAKER_03]: a little bit

[01:01:56] [SPEAKER_03]: At first I didn't recognize him

[01:01:59] [SPEAKER_03]: But this is just a really fun movie

[01:02:01] [SPEAKER_03]: It has the vibe of

[01:02:03] [SPEAKER_03]: a summer comedy that would have actually

[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_03]: come out in the 80s

[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_03]: You have these two smart ass teenagers

[01:02:08] [SPEAKER_03]: who they decide to

[01:02:10] [SPEAKER_03]: buy the rights

[01:02:12] [SPEAKER_03]: to run this snack shack

[01:02:14] [SPEAKER_03]: at the summer pool

[01:02:15] [SPEAKER_03]: and one of them is a scheming person

[01:02:17] [SPEAKER_03]: always trying to come up with the next thing

[01:02:19] [SPEAKER_03]: to help them out

[01:02:20] [SPEAKER_03]: The other one's kind of along for the ride

[01:02:22] [SPEAKER_03]: There's a girl who's the crush

[01:02:27] [SPEAKER_03]: But no

[01:02:28] [SPEAKER_03]: This movie is a lot of fun

[01:02:30] [SPEAKER_03]: And it also took a surprising turn

[01:02:32] [SPEAKER_03]: at the end that I was not expecting

[01:02:34] [SPEAKER_03]: that really adds an extra dose of heart to it

[01:02:37] [SPEAKER_03]: In addition to it being

[01:02:38] [SPEAKER_03]: very funny as well

[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Is there a giant?

[01:02:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh I'm light headed

[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm actually light headed

[01:02:54] [SPEAKER_04]: because I laughed too hard

[01:02:56] [SPEAKER_04]: That was the stupidest thing

[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_04]: ever

[01:03:00] [SPEAKER_04]: That was something I would say

[01:03:02] [SPEAKER_03]: But the fact that that was Nate's first thought

[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh is it a giant?

[01:03:06] [SPEAKER_03]: But is it a giant?

[01:03:09] [SPEAKER_04]: In no way shape or form

[01:03:12] [SPEAKER_02]: You know how often it's a giant

[01:03:14] [SPEAKER_02]: that adds a dose of heart to a movie

[01:03:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Well colossal better than that

[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay

[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh wow buddy

[01:03:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Was it a giant?

[01:03:27] [SPEAKER_04]: This is

[01:03:28] [SPEAKER_04]: What do you think of Tom's carrot level

[01:03:30] [SPEAKER_03]: That was good stuff

[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Good for you

[01:03:33] [SPEAKER_03]: But Snack Shack is streaming on

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Prime Video right now

[01:03:36] [SPEAKER_03]: So if you haven't watched it

[01:03:38] [SPEAKER_03]: You should go check it out

[01:03:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Snack Shack

[01:03:42] [SPEAKER_03]: And the last movie I talked about

[01:03:43] [SPEAKER_03]: was the one that Ben assigned to me

[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_03]: and it was called Blown Away

[01:03:45] [SPEAKER_03]: and it's okay

[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Do you rent that or does it come free

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_05]: on Pornhub?

[01:03:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I paid for it because I wanted it in 4K

[01:03:55] [SPEAKER_03]: You really just don't get the glistening

[01:03:58] [SPEAKER_03]: What?

[01:04:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Blown Away

[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_03]: No so

[01:04:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Blown Away is

[01:04:04] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a 1994 action thriller

[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_03]: starring Jeff Bridges

[01:04:09] [SPEAKER_03]: and Timely Jones

[01:04:09] [SPEAKER_03]: and it's great to see Timely Jones

[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_03]: in like unhinged like Mad Man mode

[01:04:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause this is I mean 94

[01:04:16] [SPEAKER_04]: right so this was

[01:04:18] [SPEAKER_04]: 92 was under siege

[01:04:19] [SPEAKER_04]: where he played a mad man type

[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_03]: And this was just before Batman Forever

[01:04:23] [SPEAKER_03]: So he was in the Mad Man era

[01:04:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Early 90s Timely Jones

[01:04:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Timely Jones was busy in the early to mid 90s

[01:04:29] [SPEAKER_03]: He was doing tons of stuff

[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Fugitive

[01:04:31] [SPEAKER_03]: US Marshals

[01:04:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah other things

[01:04:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah Cobb

[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Men in black was a little later

[01:04:38] [SPEAKER_03]: But so Timely Jones plays this guy

[01:04:42] [SPEAKER_03]: who breaks out of prison

[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_03]: and starts messing with

[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Jeff Bridges who works on the bomb squad

[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_03]: in Boston

[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_03]: and he starts planning these devices around town

[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_03]: and trying to kill people on his team

[01:04:55] [SPEAKER_03]: They have a history

[01:04:56] [SPEAKER_03]: that goes back to Ireland

[01:04:58] [SPEAKER_03]: and there's an interesting plot

[01:05:00] [SPEAKER_03]: that unfolds their force Whitaker is also in it

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_03]: and this movie is solid

[01:05:04] [SPEAKER_04]: This is Cuba Gooden Jr

[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_04]: He's a bit part

[01:05:07] [SPEAKER_04]: This is classic

[01:05:09] [SPEAKER_04]: mid 90s

[01:05:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I dig the vibe of this movie

[01:05:13] [SPEAKER_03]: and I like this kind of movie

[01:05:14] [SPEAKER_03]: cause it's the action thriller

[01:05:16] [SPEAKER_03]: that you don't really make much of anymore

[01:05:17] [SPEAKER_05]: It's only like a 38% on Rotten Tomatoes

[01:05:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Could have been better in a lot of ways

[01:05:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah so the things that are detriment to it to me

[01:05:24] [SPEAKER_03]: is first of all

[01:05:25] [SPEAKER_03]: the accents are not great

[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Timely Jones

[01:05:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Not the best Irish accent

[01:05:31] [SPEAKER_05]: He's famously known for his accents

[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah a lot of Boston accents in this

[01:05:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Jeff Bridges is really going for it

[01:05:38] [SPEAKER_03]: The thing that didn't work

[01:05:39] [SPEAKER_03]: the most for me was

[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_03]: there's this romantic aspect to it

[01:05:43] [SPEAKER_03]: where Jeff Bridges has a girl

[01:05:45] [SPEAKER_03]: that he asks to marry him and everything

[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_03]: and she's a daughter

[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_03]: That's absolutely a 90s studio note

[01:05:50] [SPEAKER_04]: It really does not fit in with the rest of it

[01:05:54] [SPEAKER_03]: especially when they create drama

[01:05:56] [SPEAKER_03]: between them because Jeff Bridges

[01:05:57] [SPEAKER_03]: character is on the edge

[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_03]: and she doesn't know about his past

[01:06:02] [SPEAKER_03]: so he's a little bit

[01:06:04] [SPEAKER_03]: unhinged because of it

[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_03]: but whenever they have to talk about it

[01:06:08] [SPEAKER_03]: it just doesn't feel like it really connects

[01:06:10] [SPEAKER_03]: but the suspense

[01:06:12] [SPEAKER_03]: is there

[01:06:12] [SPEAKER_03]: The bomb sequences especially are great

[01:06:14] [SPEAKER_04]: It's at its best

[01:06:16] [SPEAKER_04]: when the drama and the suspense

[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_04]: will this actually blow up

[01:06:20] [SPEAKER_04]: They did a very good job there

[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I enjoyed watching it though

[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't love it but I appreciate it for what it was

[01:06:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Cool cool cool

[01:06:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Ben so what the fuck did you watch?

[01:06:29] [SPEAKER_03]: I watched Blown Away

[01:06:31] [SPEAKER_03]: I watched Swept Away

[01:06:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I guarantee you would hate Swept Away

[01:06:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched

[01:06:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Can't think of another away movie

[01:06:40] [SPEAKER_03]: You didn't watch a River Runs Through It

[01:06:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I definitely didn't do that

[01:06:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Is Far and Away a film?

[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman

[01:06:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah

[01:06:50] [SPEAKER_04]: The Frontier

[01:06:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched

[01:06:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I did watch the Pale Women's

[01:06:56] [SPEAKER_04]: What made you watch that?

[01:06:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Ashley was sick and tired

[01:07:00] [SPEAKER_04]: of me watching just action movies at night

[01:07:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Tell me about it

[01:07:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Can we put on something that I would want to watch?

[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And she loves vintage

[01:07:08] [SPEAKER_04]: stuff she likes the 60s and 70s

[01:07:10] [SPEAKER_04]: So anything like that

[01:07:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I think the Pale Women's is set in the 50s and 60s

[01:07:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I couldn't remember

[01:07:15] [SPEAKER_04]: But I thought that's probably a good setting

[01:07:19] [SPEAKER_04]: So we watched that

[01:07:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't love it

[01:07:21] [SPEAKER_04]: It was good

[01:07:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I was never bored by it

[01:07:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched it

[01:07:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought it was clever enough

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I could see

[01:07:31] [SPEAKER_04]: It's definitely a love letter to Steven Spielberg's childhood

[01:07:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I get it

[01:07:36] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a Spielberg movie

[01:07:39] [SPEAKER_04]: That's his best though

[01:07:40] [SPEAKER_04]: No, it just wasn't

[01:07:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Catch me if you can

[01:07:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It's good

[01:07:44] [SPEAKER_03]: The worst Spielberg movie is better than 90% of the movies made

[01:07:49] [SPEAKER_03]: We all know you suck his dick

[01:07:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I get it

[01:07:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't have to suck his dick, he presents it

[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Duel

[01:07:56] [SPEAKER_03]: 1941 is the worst movie

[01:07:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It's in the middle of the stack

[01:08:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Duel is at least like

[01:08:02] [SPEAKER_03]: A good

[01:08:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Action

[01:08:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Duel is

[01:08:07] [SPEAKER_04]: This is how sycophantic he is

[01:08:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Duel is actually

[01:08:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a joke, let's move on

[01:08:13] [SPEAKER_04]: It's in the middle of the pack for me

[01:08:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't satiate like that

[01:08:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, they have to have a middle

[01:08:20] [SPEAKER_03]: No, not that

[01:08:21] [SPEAKER_03]: The other stuff that is bad

[01:08:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Do you know what his worst rated film is?

[01:08:27] [SPEAKER_05]: 1941

[01:08:27] [SPEAKER_03]: No, I think it's probably

[01:08:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Is he in movie 43

[01:08:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Like of a film that he's directed

[01:08:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

[01:08:36] [SPEAKER_03]: No

[01:08:36] [SPEAKER_03]: The Terminal

[01:08:38] Always

[01:08:42] [SPEAKER_03]: 13%

[01:08:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Really his worst reviewed

[01:08:45] [SPEAKER_03]: That movie is better than 29%

[01:08:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I know Spielberg himself, honestly, doesn't like that movie

[01:08:51] [SPEAKER_05]: 1941 has a 39%

[01:08:54] [SPEAKER_05]: These aren't films that he

[01:08:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Because he's executive produced every film

[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Since

[01:08:59] [SPEAKER_05]: A certain time

[01:09:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Since the Dreamworks

[01:09:02] [SPEAKER_05]: SKG

[01:09:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Era

[01:09:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Who is SKG?

[01:09:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Spielberg

[01:09:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Geffen

[01:09:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Kibble Bottom

[01:09:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Kleister

[01:09:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Cats

[01:09:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched that

[01:09:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched

[01:09:22] [SPEAKER_04]: 20 minutes of a River Runs Through It

[01:09:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched Orion

[01:09:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Orion in the Night

[01:09:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Orion

[01:09:30] [SPEAKER_04]: He didn't even know the name of the movie

[01:09:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Orion and the Dark

[01:09:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Netflix Movie

[01:09:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Anxiety Riddled

[01:09:41] [SPEAKER_04]: 10 year old

[01:09:42] [SPEAKER_04]: 11 year old

[01:09:44] [SPEAKER_04]: That is just

[01:09:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Terrified of the Dark

[01:09:46] [SPEAKER_04]: The story is

[01:09:49] [SPEAKER_04]: The father telling a

[01:09:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Orion is an adult man

[01:09:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Voice by Colin Hanks

[01:09:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Who's telling a story

[01:09:56] [SPEAKER_04]: About his daughter

[01:09:58] [SPEAKER_04]: His fear of the Dark

[01:09:59] [SPEAKER_04]: The story is

[01:10:01] [SPEAKER_04]: This magical journey

[01:10:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Of Dark as a character

[01:10:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Taking him around the world

[01:10:09] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a little like Inside Out

[01:10:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Where everything has

[01:10:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Sweet Dreams

[01:10:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Quiet

[01:10:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Sleep

[01:10:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Sleep is a character

[01:10:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Ike Barron Holtz

[01:10:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Voice is light

[01:10:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Compared to Dark

[01:10:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Mark David Foster

[01:10:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Paul Walter

[01:10:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Mark David Foster

[01:10:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I could remember

[01:10:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Voice is dark

[01:10:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Immediately

[01:10:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Perfect

[01:10:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Larger

[01:10:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Gravitas

[01:10:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Pathos

[01:10:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Not much pathos

[01:10:47] [SPEAKER_05]: This film is well rated

[01:10:51] [SPEAKER_05]: I've heard it's very good

[01:10:53] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sad because I've not watched it

[01:10:55] [SPEAKER_05]: If I had kids that are that age

[01:10:57] [SPEAKER_05]: I would have watched it by now

[01:10:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Kids would still enjoy it

[01:11:01] [SPEAKER_05]: They've not brought this up

[01:11:02] [SPEAKER_04]: A little bit more

[01:11:04] [SPEAKER_04]: At first I was like

[01:11:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Why am I turning this off

[01:11:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Because 7 and 10 year old watching it

[01:11:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It got into some pretty like

[01:11:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Like kids experience that shit

[01:11:14] [SPEAKER_04]: The anxiety part of it

[01:11:16] [SPEAKER_04]: It kept going though

[01:11:17] [SPEAKER_04]: When he was building it

[01:11:18] [SPEAKER_04]: He spends a good probably 3 or 4 minutes

[01:11:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's these real kind of

[01:11:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Visceral scenes of him drawing out suicide

[01:11:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Good

[01:11:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Kids need to be scared

[01:11:28] [SPEAKER_04]: It's also written by Charlie Kaufman

[01:11:31] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a lot of extra stuff

[01:11:33] [SPEAKER_04]: That maybe wasn't necessary

[01:11:35] [SPEAKER_04]: But I'm glad that it was there

[01:11:36] [SPEAKER_04]: We had conversations

[01:11:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's what it's about

[01:11:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I understand and I appreciate parents

[01:11:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Wanting to protect their kids

[01:11:44] [SPEAKER_03]: And maybe not wanting to have

[01:11:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Certain conversations yet

[01:11:48] [SPEAKER_03]: But I feel like more recently

[01:11:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like some

[01:11:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Avoidance is not necessarily

[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah exactly

[01:11:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I think that kids are prepared to

[01:11:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Understand and confront things

[01:12:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Much sooner than parents think

[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Always

[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_04]: In the history of the world

[01:12:05] [SPEAKER_04]: My strategy

[01:12:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it actually wasn't there for the first part of the movie

[01:12:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Was

[01:12:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Well let's see how this goes

[01:12:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't tell your mom

[01:12:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Once it gets thick and heavy

[01:12:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a pause

[01:12:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I can see like Ender

[01:12:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Teeth the bottle

[01:12:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Drinking out of it

[01:12:25] [SPEAKER_04]: He's got his prime drink

[01:12:26] [SPEAKER_04]: So I pause him and say

[01:12:29] [SPEAKER_04]: What did you think about that scene

[01:12:30] [SPEAKER_04]: It was pretty scary

[01:12:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Well because Dawg seems like he's a pretty bad guy

[01:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: But do you think he's going to turn into a nice guy

[01:12:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And then ruin his 10 years old

[01:12:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's like well of course

[01:12:41] [SPEAKER_04]: It's because he gets it man

[01:12:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Well yeah sure man it's the hero's journey

[01:12:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not joking

[01:12:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously he doesn't say that right

[01:12:49] [SPEAKER_04]: You're not my dad

[01:12:50] [SPEAKER_04]: But he says things like that all the time

[01:12:54] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a movie so of course

[01:12:55] [SPEAKER_04]: He gets movies so

[01:12:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that kid

[01:12:58] [SPEAKER_04]: He is flabbergasted

[01:13:01] [SPEAKER_04]: When animated characters make bad choices

[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_04]: He's like well of course

[01:13:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Of course the bridge is halfway gone

[01:13:08] [SPEAKER_04]: It's going to fall

[01:13:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Why would they do that

[01:13:11] [SPEAKER_04]: It's so funny at his age

[01:13:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything is that

[01:13:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And also if something is incongruous

[01:13:16] [SPEAKER_04]: We're just as un-sensical

[01:13:19] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the funniest thing he's ever heard

[01:13:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Because he just doesn't know how to process it

[01:13:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So he's like what

[01:13:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's so organic and I love it

[01:13:28] [SPEAKER_04]: By the end of it

[01:13:30] [SPEAKER_04]: They loved the movie

[01:13:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I highly recommend it

[01:13:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched Mr. Deeds

[01:13:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Whatever a couple weeks ago

[01:13:37] [SPEAKER_04]: So I watched Big Daddy this time

[01:13:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And the reason I wanted to watch it

[01:13:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Because obviously

[01:13:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm doing the parenting thing now

[01:13:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It was actually really fun

[01:13:47] [SPEAKER_04]: To watch Adam Saylor

[01:13:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Be kind of a dropout

[01:13:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Slash loser character

[01:13:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Inherit let's say

[01:13:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Of a five year old kid

[01:13:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And have to deal with it

[01:13:57] [SPEAKER_04]: There were so many stupid parallels

[01:13:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Where I'm like I thought that

[01:14:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't know how to do that

[01:14:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Especially when Ash is not around

[01:14:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Where I'm trying to figure it out for myself

[01:14:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I liked a lot more than I used to

[01:14:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Just because of that

[01:14:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And I never hated Big Daddy

[01:14:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Big Daddy is phenomenal

[01:14:12] [SPEAKER_04]: It also stars John Stuart

[01:14:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah, John Stuart is a supporting part

[01:14:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Which is unique

[01:14:19] [SPEAKER_04]: He's in the beginning heavy

[01:14:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he's gone in the middle

[01:14:23] [SPEAKER_04]: For most of the film

[01:14:25] [SPEAKER_04]: John Stuart connects

[01:14:27] [SPEAKER_04]: He's not just a comic

[01:14:29] [SPEAKER_04]: He's got chops for sure

[01:14:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I love this film still

[01:14:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It holds up, it's so fun

[01:14:34] [SPEAKER_04]: The kid Dylan whatever his name is

[01:14:36] [SPEAKER_04]: The twins

[01:14:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Wonderful act

[01:14:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully they didn't

[01:14:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Turn into meth heads or whatever

[01:14:44] [SPEAKER_03]: They're big stars now

[01:14:46] [SPEAKER_03]: They're on Riverdale

[01:14:48] [SPEAKER_04]: They're huge

[01:14:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Dale and Tucker were zeeble

[01:14:55] [SPEAKER_04]: A mix of those two movies

[01:14:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway

[01:14:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So I watched that

[01:14:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I also watched

[01:15:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I just remembered

[01:15:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched because

[01:15:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I had time

[01:15:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I know you had time

[01:15:11] [SPEAKER_04]: But I watched the four part

[01:15:13] [SPEAKER_04]: American gladiators documentary

[01:15:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And I watched all four parts

[01:15:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It's TV

[01:15:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I know, I just got sucked in

[01:15:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll throw this one while I'm eating a sandwich

[01:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Late at night and I watched all four

[01:15:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Is this the one from Netflix or the other one

[01:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: About the steroids

[01:15:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And how big they got and they got no money for anything

[01:15:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a fascinating watch

[01:15:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It is, it's just crazy

[01:15:35] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not a river runs through it

[01:15:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Definitely not, it's way better

[01:15:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So

[01:15:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched that

[01:15:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Muscles in mayhem

[01:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Worth your time

[01:15:46] [SPEAKER_04]: It's only four parts, it's four hours long

[01:15:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And the talking heads

[01:15:51] [SPEAKER_04]: That they get to do it from the gladiators cast

[01:15:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Are definitely one in particular

[01:15:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Asian American

[01:15:56] [SPEAKER_04]: He clearly gets it

[01:15:58] [SPEAKER_04]: He knows he was kind of a dick

[01:16:00] [SPEAKER_04]: He knows he was kind of pompous

[01:16:03] [SPEAKER_04]: He's very coy about his answers

[01:16:05] [SPEAKER_04]: But in the right way where he's very engaging

[01:16:07] [SPEAKER_04]: The guy knows how to tell a story to this day

[01:16:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And so they really focused on

[01:16:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It was kind of him telling the story a lot of times

[01:16:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And then kind of everybody else was talking heads around it

[01:16:15] [SPEAKER_04]: But I really enjoyed it

[01:16:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought it was interesting

[01:16:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Also just where the impetus for the show

[01:16:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And when it became

[01:16:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah

[01:16:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Nobody really had an idea

[01:16:25] [SPEAKER_04]: What to do

[01:16:26] [SPEAKER_04]: It was just an idea on a napkin

[01:16:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was fascinating to hear about that

[01:16:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I loved me some American gladiators

[01:16:34] [SPEAKER_04]: We watched it every week

[01:16:36] [SPEAKER_04]: That was kind of its household staple

[01:16:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Is nitro in it

[01:16:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah

[01:16:40] [SPEAKER_03]: A key part of the doc

[01:16:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Some would say

[01:16:46] [SPEAKER_05]: We're all at least

[01:16:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, absolutely

[01:16:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Ice

[01:16:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh yeah

[01:16:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Laser

[01:16:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, you want to talk about some trailers?

[01:16:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not doing the song at all

[01:17:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I did it last time

[01:17:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Hold on

[01:17:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just getting out of it

[01:17:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, you didn't even watch your movie

[01:17:06] [SPEAKER_04]: You didn't watch your movie

[01:17:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there's gotta be some kind of punishment for not doing what you're supposed to do

[01:17:12] [SPEAKER_04]: This is not an argument

[01:17:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I do it all the time

[01:17:13] [SPEAKER_04]: You know why you do it all the time though

[01:17:15] [SPEAKER_03]: No, I said it in a row

[01:17:17] [SPEAKER_03]: 10 times in a row, do it

[01:17:19] [SPEAKER_03]: We've only just been back for two episodes

[01:17:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Brad does the editing

[01:17:23] [SPEAKER_05]: I do the producing during the show

[01:17:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and you do nothing

[01:17:26] [SPEAKER_05]: You can't even watch your movies for the podcast

[01:17:29] [SPEAKER_05]: You're the musical director of this show

[01:17:32] [SPEAKER_05]: First of all

[01:17:34] [SPEAKER_04]: This is my show

[01:17:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that's hilarious

[01:17:37] [SPEAKER_04]: It's my show

[01:17:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I allowed you to be a part of it from the start

[01:17:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And I definitely allowed you to be a part of it

[01:17:43] [SPEAKER_04]: 90 episodes in

[01:17:44] [SPEAKER_03]: If Nate and I weren't part of the show, there wouldn't be a show

[01:17:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, the show would be better

[01:17:48] [SPEAKER_03]: No, because you would just be sitting upstairs still trying to watch movies with the kids

[01:17:52] [SPEAKER_03]: You're not wrong

[01:18:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I love Nate and Brad

[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I love Nate

[01:18:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes Brad

[01:18:11] [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of times

[01:18:12] [SPEAKER_01]: He makes me say

[01:18:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know what this song is

[01:18:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Good

[01:18:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Good time

[01:18:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I might

[01:18:21] [SPEAKER_01]: This is what I'm gonna do

[01:18:23] [SPEAKER_01]: From now on

[01:18:25] [SPEAKER_03]: You have to do is sing it to the tune of a song that people know

[01:18:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't want to do that

[01:18:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm trying to be bad at it like I do with the dishes with Ashley

[01:18:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Here's the thing, you don't have to try

[01:18:33] [SPEAKER_03]: You are bad at it

[01:18:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Just pick a famous song

[01:18:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And sing the lyrics to it

[01:18:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Every time you're gonna get that or

[01:18:42] [SPEAKER_04]: So pick it

[01:18:43] [SPEAKER_04]: You can choose dying angel

[01:18:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Dying angel

[01:18:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Or you pick it

[01:18:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'll do either one, buddy

[01:18:52] [SPEAKER_04]: From now on, that's your fucking present

[01:18:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Shitting on your grave

[01:18:57] [SPEAKER_04]: That's coming

[01:18:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't like this, Nate

[01:19:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Poop on your grave

[01:19:03] [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, I just don't like this

[01:19:04] [SPEAKER_03]: This piss poor attitude he has

[01:19:06] [SPEAKER_03]: He's not even gonna give us any

[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Any musical

[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Effort? Yeah

[01:19:10] [SPEAKER_03]: You shocked? Not shocked, I'm never shocked

[01:19:13] [SPEAKER_04]: It's hard to do and you guys never get to do it

[01:19:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Whenever me and Nate do it we make

[01:19:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Musical fusion

[01:19:19] [SPEAKER_04]: No, you don't, it's just as hard

[01:19:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And you just love that I have to do it so you don't have to

[01:19:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Literally had record producers contact us

[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't

[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Think that you've ever had a good version

[01:19:32] [SPEAKER_03]: One time we did it so good

[01:19:34] [SPEAKER_03]: It made you mad

[01:19:36] [SPEAKER_05]: It makes me mad every time

[01:19:38] [SPEAKER_05]: You got so mad because you're like

[01:19:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Why do you guys do that with me

[01:19:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Why do you do that with me? I just get mad because

[01:19:43] [SPEAKER_04]: You come in and double

[01:19:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Him and help

[01:19:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm a man on an island over here

[01:19:49] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not that I help him, we are in sync

[01:19:52] [SPEAKER_05]: It's like we speak the same language

[01:19:54] [SPEAKER_05]: We're having a musical conversation

[01:19:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry, yeah, we just understand each other

[01:19:58] [SPEAKER_03]: And we just feel each other's vibes

[01:20:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Go ahead and feel each other's vibes then

[01:20:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you want us to feel your vibes?

[01:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I do not because my vibe is

[01:20:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Anger right now

[01:20:10] [SPEAKER_04]: What else is new Hulk?

[01:20:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So fucking pissed off

[01:20:12] [SPEAKER_04]: You should be

[01:20:13] [SPEAKER_04]: If I live with myself

[01:20:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Forced to do this every time

[01:20:18] [SPEAKER_04]: By the way, no listener likes listening to this bullshit

[01:20:23] [SPEAKER_05]: But also

[01:20:24] [SPEAKER_05]: This is what you bring to the podcast

[01:20:26] [SPEAKER_05]: We all have our thing

[01:20:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Mitch, if you're still a listener for some reason

[01:20:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I haven't heard from Mitch in a long time

[01:20:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Are you probably not listening?

[01:20:33] [SPEAKER_04]: No, because this is bullshit

[01:20:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I imagine how much happier it would be

[01:20:36] [SPEAKER_03]: If you did the song like you're supposed to

[01:20:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Mitch is a supporter of me

[01:20:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if that's true

[01:20:41] [SPEAKER_05]: But I don't think Mitch is listening anymore

[01:20:42] [SPEAKER_05]: No, he is

[01:20:44] [SPEAKER_03]: He always likes and checks in

[01:20:47] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what? I pay attention to the Facebook page

[01:20:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Unlike you

[01:20:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Facebook is like a cesspool

[01:20:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, because of Mitch? How dare you

[01:20:56] [SPEAKER_05]: No, not Mitch

[01:20:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Wow, Mitch, I'm sorry

[01:20:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Everything

[01:20:59] [SPEAKER_05]: You like the Facebook, he likes the Twitter

[01:21:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And Instagram of celebrities over 40

[01:21:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Or under

[01:21:07] [SPEAKER_03]: How far

[01:21:11] [SPEAKER_03]: You're disgusting

[01:21:12] [SPEAKER_05]: So we watched Dark Adventures

[01:21:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I've never found Drake attractive

[01:21:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Even when he was in the wheelchair

[01:21:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, we did it

[01:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: We watched Dark Adventures

[01:21:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Here comes the trailer time

[01:21:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Watch movies from the future

[01:21:29] [SPEAKER_03]: I already matched

[01:21:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Here comes the trailer time

[01:21:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god

[01:21:35] [SPEAKER_03]: The movies that we're excited to watch

[01:21:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well at least it ended shitty

[01:21:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause right off the bat within the first

[01:21:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Two seconds you were already ch-ching

[01:21:46] [SPEAKER_04]: You already had his back

[01:21:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I've never had that level of support

[01:21:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but because he went for it, you don't go for it

[01:21:54] [SPEAKER_05]: You're like a sad little boy

[01:21:55] [SPEAKER_05]: And then there was a song

[01:22:05] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what you're gonna get from now on

[01:22:07] [SPEAKER_03]: So congratulations men in black

[01:22:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Way to go

[01:22:10] [SPEAKER_03]: We watched two trailers today

[01:22:11] [SPEAKER_03]: The first one that we'll talk about

[01:22:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Is a new film from Bong Joon Ho

[01:22:17] [SPEAKER_03]: And this is a movie called

[01:22:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Mickey 17 starring Robert Pattinson

[01:22:21] [SPEAKER_03]: It is a sci-fi movie

[01:22:23] [SPEAKER_03]: That I was not expecting to have

[01:22:25] [SPEAKER_03]: So much comedy in it

[01:22:26] [SPEAKER_03]: But it does

[01:22:27] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a movie that takes place

[01:22:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Sometime in the future

[01:22:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Where certain people are

[01:22:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Used as

[01:22:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Expendables

[01:22:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And not in the way that you would know the

[01:22:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Term from Sylvester Stallone

[01:22:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, where basically

[01:22:43] [SPEAKER_03]: You have a job

[01:22:45] [SPEAKER_03]: And if you happen to

[01:22:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Die or get hurt on that job

[01:22:49] [SPEAKER_03]: They'll just create a new version of you

[01:22:51] [SPEAKER_03]: And you return to work

[01:22:53] [SPEAKER_03]: The next day do whatever jobs that are dangerous

[01:22:55] [SPEAKER_03]: It seems like a very fun premise

[01:22:58] [SPEAKER_03]: It does

[01:23:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Like movies that

[01:23:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Bong Joon Ho has done

[01:23:03] [SPEAKER_03]: There's definitely something deeper

[01:23:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Like it's not just a silly comedy

[01:23:07] [SPEAKER_03]: There's commentary on capitalism

[01:23:10] [SPEAKER_03]: And humanity

[01:23:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean that would be hilarious

[01:23:14] [SPEAKER_03]: But there's always some kind of commentary

[01:23:16] [SPEAKER_03]: On the status quo of society

[01:23:18] [SPEAKER_03]: In some way

[01:23:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Typically something that is very much against capitalism

[01:23:22] [SPEAKER_05]: By the way, he has not done a film

[01:23:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Since

[01:23:25] [SPEAKER_05]: 2019

[01:23:27] [SPEAKER_05]: That's a long time

[01:23:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's been well

[01:23:30] [SPEAKER_03]: But I'm very excited about this

[01:23:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I was not expecting the trailer to have this kind of tone

[01:23:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I definitely wasn't expecting Robert Pattinson

[01:23:36] [SPEAKER_03]: To have whatever that voice is that he's doing

[01:23:39] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like a Tom Hardy voice

[01:23:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm very excited

[01:23:42] [SPEAKER_03]: He's really going for it

[01:23:45] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, great cast, Mark Ruffalo

[01:23:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Looks like he's having a blast too

[01:23:48] [SPEAKER_03]: It appears to be

[01:23:49] [SPEAKER_04]: A Jeff Goldblumist take

[01:23:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Whatever Mark Ruffalo's doing

[01:23:54] [SPEAKER_03]: You haven't seen Poor Things yet, have you?

[01:23:56] [SPEAKER_03]: No Mark Ruffalo is

[01:23:58] [SPEAKER_03]: A riot in Poor Things

[01:24:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Because he's such a phenomenal douchebag

[01:24:03] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah

[01:24:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I can't wait to see this

[01:24:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Incredible cast

[01:24:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Nate, what do you think?

[01:24:10] [SPEAKER_05]: I've definitely seen this

[01:24:12] [SPEAKER_05]: But it's got space

[01:24:13] [SPEAKER_04]: The final frontier which you do not like

[01:24:15] [SPEAKER_03]: We watched this trailer just before the podcast

[01:24:18] [SPEAKER_03]: And we were both surprised that you were super excited

[01:24:20] [SPEAKER_05]: But it's because of the comedy of this

[01:24:23] [SPEAKER_05]: And the

[01:24:25] [SPEAKER_05]: The

[01:24:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Pathos of this film

[01:24:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Still don't know what that means

[01:24:30] [SPEAKER_04]: But it sounds so funny to say it

[01:24:32] [SPEAKER_05]: It just fits the cultural zeitgeist

[01:24:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Of

[01:24:36] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm just trying to use it

[01:24:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Everything about this film

[01:24:42] [SPEAKER_05]: The way that

[01:24:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Robert Pattinson is choosing

[01:24:45] [SPEAKER_05]: To perform as a character

[01:24:47] [SPEAKER_05]: The humor that's coming about in this film

[01:24:50] [SPEAKER_05]: The direction

[01:24:51] [SPEAKER_05]: It just all looks really

[01:24:52] [SPEAKER_05]: It looks interesting

[01:24:55] [SPEAKER_05]: And I don't see a lot of trailers that make me think

[01:24:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh that film looks interesting

[01:25:00] [SPEAKER_05]: So that's what I'm excited to see this

[01:25:01] [SPEAKER_05]: I know it's about space

[01:25:02] [SPEAKER_05]: But it seems to be about Robert Pattinson's character

[01:25:06] [SPEAKER_05]: More than it's about space

[01:25:07] [SPEAKER_04]: So space is the setting

[01:25:10] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's definitely not a character

[01:25:12] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not a character like a lot of the films

[01:25:14] [SPEAKER_05]: And they're not using space as like a

[01:25:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Like I watched Star Wars

[01:25:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Love Star Wars, Star Wars is a setting space

[01:25:20] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not though like space is

[01:25:22] [SPEAKER_05]: A villain in the character

[01:25:24] [SPEAKER_05]: In Alien Space

[01:25:26] [SPEAKER_04]: In Gravity Space is a character

[01:25:28] [SPEAKER_04]: They are using it as

[01:25:29] [SPEAKER_05]: And it is the scary version of space

[01:25:32] [SPEAKER_05]: It is the void of

[01:25:34] [SPEAKER_05]: All of that

[01:25:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And I get not a slam on this movie at all

[01:25:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Because

[01:25:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure the reason that it's set in space

[01:25:42] [SPEAKER_04]: It's going to allow for a lot of things

[01:25:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Futurism

[01:25:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Things of that nature that are going to take over

[01:25:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I love the idea of

[01:25:49] [SPEAKER_04]: The playfulness that they can have because of that

[01:25:51] [SPEAKER_05]: No and it has a tone to it

[01:25:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Already in the trailer this film has a tone to it

[01:25:55] [SPEAKER_05]: And so really excited

[01:25:57] [SPEAKER_05]: To see where they go with this

[01:25:58] [SPEAKER_05]: It's going to be fun

[01:25:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we watched Suicide Squad 2

[01:26:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Well this will be Suicide Squad 3

[01:26:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah yeah

[01:26:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Marvel's the Suicide Squad

[01:26:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Marvel's Thunderbolts with an asterisk

[01:26:11] [SPEAKER_03]: At the end of it

[01:26:12] [SPEAKER_03]: And the asterisk does mean something

[01:26:14] [SPEAKER_03]: And we don't know what yet

[01:26:15] [SPEAKER_03]: But it will be apparently revealed at some point

[01:26:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Some of the theories are it is

[01:26:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Going to change to Dark Avengers

[01:26:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah that's certainly a possibility

[01:26:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I think the best guess is that

[01:26:26] [SPEAKER_03]: It will change to some kind of Avengers

[01:26:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Live, die, repeat, Avengers

[01:26:29] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah this is Marvel's Thunderbolts

[01:26:32] [SPEAKER_03]: And it is basically taking

[01:26:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Some of the rag tag

[01:26:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Misfits that who were villains

[01:26:38] [SPEAKER_03]: In previous movies and bringing them together

[01:26:40] [SPEAKER_03]: As Marvel's own version of Suicide Squad

[01:26:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Put together

[01:26:44] [SPEAKER_03]: By Valentina, the character played by

[01:26:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Julie Louis-Dreyfus in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

[01:26:48] [SPEAKER_03]: And Black Panther will come to forever

[01:26:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I miss her as a character

[01:26:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Glad that she's back

[01:26:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Sounds sarcastic

[01:26:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not joking about it

[01:26:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I really do like her

[01:26:58] [SPEAKER_03]: So you have Wyatt Russell

[01:27:01] [SPEAKER_03]: As US agent or John Walker

[01:27:04] [SPEAKER_03]: You have Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova

[01:27:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Who is Black Widow's

[01:27:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Adoptive sister

[01:27:09] [SPEAKER_03]: You have David Harbour as Red Guardian

[01:27:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Russian version of Captain America

[01:27:13] [SPEAKER_05]: But also a bloated older version of Captain America

[01:27:17] [SPEAKER_05]: And the reason I'm seeing this film

[01:27:19] [SPEAKER_03]: You have Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes

[01:27:21] [SPEAKER_03]: You have, I forget who played

[01:27:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Taskmaster in Black Widow

[01:27:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Because don't give a fuck about that movie

[01:27:27] [SPEAKER_03]: But Taskmaster is back

[01:27:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Olga Kurlingko

[01:27:30] [SPEAKER_03]: There you go, Olga Kurlingko

[01:27:31] [SPEAKER_03]: From James Bond, the Dan and Craig movies

[01:27:33] [SPEAKER_03]: And then who's the name of

[01:27:35] [SPEAKER_03]: The Woman Playing Ghost again from Ant-Man on the Wasp

[01:27:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Hannah John-Camin

[01:27:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Those are the Thunderbolts

[01:27:41] [SPEAKER_03]: And I will say

[01:27:43] [SPEAKER_03]: That I was not particularly excited about this movie

[01:27:45] [SPEAKER_03]: But this trailer is pretty good

[01:27:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Marvel's very good at putting together trailers

[01:27:49] [SPEAKER_03]: So sometimes they can trick you

[01:27:51] [SPEAKER_03]: But

[01:27:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I like what I'm seeing so far

[01:27:54] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm still not sold on this certain assembly

[01:27:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Of characters being the Thunderbolts

[01:27:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Because I could give two shits about Ghost

[01:28:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Or Taskmaster

[01:28:02] [SPEAKER_03]: But clearly the driving force of this movie

[01:28:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Is Florence Pugh as Elena

[01:28:06] [SPEAKER_03]: And Sebastian Stan

[01:28:08] [SPEAKER_03]: As Bucky Barnes with a little bit of

[01:28:10] [SPEAKER_03]: White Russell as John Walker

[01:28:11] [SPEAKER_03]: The same thing could be said though

[01:28:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I wasn't necessarily watching the Suicide Squad

[01:28:16] [SPEAKER_04]: For Captain Boomerang

[01:28:18] [SPEAKER_04]: You're gonna have these

[01:28:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Periphery characters that fill out the team

[01:28:22] [SPEAKER_04]: That aren't the core of it

[01:28:23] [SPEAKER_03]: But at least the Suicide Squad cast had

[01:28:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Fun names in those roles

[01:28:27] [SPEAKER_03]: And the characters were meant to be

[01:28:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Disposable in a humorous fashion

[01:28:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Like the Suicide Squad was intended

[01:28:34] [SPEAKER_03]: To be dispatched with

[01:28:35] [SPEAKER_03]: And they weren't all gonna make it

[01:28:36] [SPEAKER_05]: It's gonna be interesting to see if they

[01:28:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Because there's a lot of these characters

[01:28:40] [SPEAKER_05]: That we only know through very small roles

[01:28:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Like Taskmaster

[01:28:44] [SPEAKER_05]: We know a little bit about her

[01:28:47] [SPEAKER_05]: But like in the comic books

[01:28:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Apparently Taskmaster

[01:28:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Taskmaster is a great character

[01:28:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Is funny

[01:28:54] [SPEAKER_05]: They are almost like Deadpool

[01:28:55] [SPEAKER_05]: They're irreverent

[01:28:57] [SPEAKER_05]: And so are they gonna bring that out

[01:28:59] [SPEAKER_05]: In this film so you're gonna see that part of them

[01:29:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I doubt it honestly

[01:29:04] [SPEAKER_05]: But it'd be fun if they do

[01:29:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Not breaking the fourth wall

[01:29:06] [SPEAKER_03]: But even giving that character

[01:29:08] [SPEAKER_03]: It just doesn't make sense in the context of

[01:29:11] [SPEAKER_03]: What they've defined for that character

[01:29:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Like it would be weird that a character

[01:29:14] [SPEAKER_05]: They've already kind of put her in a corner

[01:29:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah like if all of a sudden

[01:29:19] [SPEAKER_03]: That character did have those vibes

[01:29:21] [SPEAKER_03]: It would be very weird because of that

[01:29:23] [SPEAKER_03]: That tragic past

[01:29:24] [SPEAKER_03]: And what they were in the Black Widow movie

[01:29:27] [SPEAKER_05]: And then Bill Pullman's son

[01:29:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Lewis Pullman is playing Century

[01:29:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes that's Bob in the trailer

[01:29:32] [SPEAKER_03]: They're kind of holding that back

[01:29:34] [SPEAKER_03]: But he is supposed to be the villain of the movie

[01:29:37] [SPEAKER_05]: So it'll be interesting to see how

[01:29:39] [SPEAKER_05]: They do that

[01:29:39] [SPEAKER_05]: There could be some humor there as well

[01:29:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Or some just...

[01:29:43] [SPEAKER_05]: It's a very good trailer

[01:29:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's all that I know so far

[01:29:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah

[01:29:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Tonality will be in a lot

[01:29:52] [SPEAKER_05]: It's one of the first Marvel films that

[01:29:53] [SPEAKER_05]: The trailer got me kind of excited about it

[01:29:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Honestly and it's...

[01:29:57] [SPEAKER_04]: There's enough, I think for me

[01:29:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Also besides the fact that it's a good trailer

[01:30:00] [SPEAKER_04]: You also have, for me it's enough familiar faces

[01:30:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Right? David Harbour

[01:30:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Was a standout in Black Widow

[01:30:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Right? Bucky Barnes as a character

[01:30:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Is a mainstay in the MCU

[01:30:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Enough where I'm like okay

[01:30:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I really love Florence Pugh in the Hawkeye series

[01:30:15] [SPEAKER_04]: There's three characters right there

[01:30:16] [SPEAKER_04]: That I trust enough to kind of

[01:30:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Carry that brand moving forward

[01:30:20] [SPEAKER_04]: That I'm definitely going to see the movie

[01:30:21] [SPEAKER_05]: But Brad I think you're right though

[01:30:22] [SPEAKER_05]: I think the secret is

[01:30:25] [SPEAKER_05]: We already know, right

[01:30:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Those characters you just mentioned

[01:30:28] [SPEAKER_05]: We know what they're going to do

[01:30:29] [SPEAKER_05]: They've had more prominent roles

[01:30:31] [SPEAKER_05]: In the films that they were in

[01:30:33] [SPEAKER_05]: What are they going to do with the ghost character?

[01:30:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Right? What are they going to do?

[01:30:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Filling me around the edges

[01:30:38] [SPEAKER_05]: What are they going to do with the Taskmaster character

[01:30:40] [SPEAKER_05]: What are they going to do with John Walker?

[01:30:43] [SPEAKER_05]: That's going to actually fill that out a little bit

[01:30:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Because that's going to be the secret

[01:30:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Of the success of the movie

[01:30:49] [SPEAKER_05]: We hate it, John

[01:30:51] [SPEAKER_04]: John Walker's character is a scum

[01:30:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I fucking hated that guy

[01:30:54] [SPEAKER_05]: But you could do something with that

[01:30:56] [SPEAKER_05]: You could write that in a way that I think

[01:30:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if I would say John Walker's character was a scum

[01:31:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Because he was somebody who was like

[01:31:02] [SPEAKER_03]: He was looking for an opportunity to prove himself

[01:31:05] [SPEAKER_03]: It just unfortunately turned into a situation

[01:31:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Where he was the asshole

[01:31:08] [SPEAKER_03]: In his vulnerabilities

[01:31:10] [SPEAKER_04]: But he also was

[01:31:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Out and out a bad guy

[01:31:15] [SPEAKER_04]: He was just trying to kill people

[01:31:17] [SPEAKER_05]: I always took that as

[01:31:19] [SPEAKER_05]: His vulnerabilities and his insecurities

[01:31:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Made him do horrible things

[01:31:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, essentially

[01:31:25] [SPEAKER_05]: And his feelings of not being enough

[01:31:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Because he was in Captain America

[01:31:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen, I have those feelings every day

[01:31:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And you don't see me trying to kill people

[01:31:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Say that now, but wait until you kill somebody

[01:31:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay

[01:31:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's easy to say that

[01:31:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Until you cross the bridge

[01:31:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Trailer's on vacation

[01:31:42] [SPEAKER_03]: But no, I think that one of my favorite things

[01:31:46] [SPEAKER_03]: About this trailer is

[01:31:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Having these characters

[01:31:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Feel some sense of insecurity

[01:31:52] [SPEAKER_03]: And feeling lost

[01:31:53] [SPEAKER_03]: They've all tried to tap into what they're apparently good at

[01:31:56] [SPEAKER_03]: And it's not enough

[01:31:57] [SPEAKER_03]: And so what is it going to be

[01:32:00] [SPEAKER_03]: That gives them purpose

[01:32:01] [SPEAKER_03]: That gives them something to step up towards

[01:32:03] [SPEAKER_03]: And feel like they have something

[01:32:05] [SPEAKER_03]: To live for

[01:32:07] [SPEAKER_03]: That's driving their ambition

[01:32:09] [SPEAKER_04]: The first 20 seconds of the trailer though

[01:32:11] [SPEAKER_04]: When Florence Pugh's character goes to the Red Guardian

[01:32:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's like

[01:32:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything's fine, I'm so busy

[01:32:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm so sorry, this is crazy

[01:32:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Let me move some things around for a while

[01:32:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I've just been so busy

[01:32:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Clearly nothing going on in his life

[01:32:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that so much

[01:32:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Where she asks him, are you fulfilled

[01:32:28] [SPEAKER_03]: He says, oh yes, so full

[01:32:30] [SPEAKER_03]: So full

[01:32:33] [SPEAKER_05]: It'll be interesting to see

[01:32:35] [SPEAKER_05]: As those other characters who mentioned

[01:32:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Those secondary characters

[01:32:38] [SPEAKER_05]: If they can become primary characters

[01:32:40] [SPEAKER_05]: But also

[01:32:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Can

[01:32:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Florence Pugh and David Harbour

[01:32:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Sebastian Stan

[01:32:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Become the new Tony Stark

[01:32:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Can they lead

[01:32:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't really think that's the intention

[01:32:55] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know, I feel like

[01:32:56] [SPEAKER_05]: They're wanting to reboot Avengers in some way

[01:32:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, they're not going to reboot Avengers

[01:33:01] [SPEAKER_03]: In a big way in that way

[01:33:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Because what they're leading towards with the upcoming

[01:33:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Avengers movies is on a whole

[01:33:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Is on a whole other level

[01:33:08] [SPEAKER_03]: It will regress somewhat and it will allow them

[01:33:10] [SPEAKER_03]: To bring back other characters

[01:33:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Who aren't necessarily active right now

[01:33:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Because Hawkeye is still out there

[01:33:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Hulk is still out there

[01:33:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Thor is still out there

[01:33:19] [SPEAKER_03]: You still have pretty much half of the original Avengers

[01:33:22] [SPEAKER_05]: I think they announced Hawkeye Season 2

[01:33:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Didn't they recently?

[01:33:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't think so

[01:33:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Unless I happen to miss it

[01:33:28] [SPEAKER_03]: You read it on Wikipedia

[01:33:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I probably did

[01:33:31] [SPEAKER_03]: It's one of those things where

[01:33:34] [SPEAKER_03]: There's room to have another

[01:33:36] [SPEAKER_03]: A sub-level of Avengers

[01:33:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Where they're not like the Avengers

[01:33:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Because we also had the tees from the end of the Marvels

[01:33:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Where Eman Vellani as Ms. Marvel

[01:33:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Was putting together her own

[01:33:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Young Avengers by going out to Kate Bishop

[01:33:49] [SPEAKER_03]: And trying to recruit her

[01:33:50] [SPEAKER_03]: In that very funny Nick Fury kind of way

[01:33:53] [SPEAKER_03]: And so I think that what we'll end up getting

[01:33:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Is kind of like an amalgamation

[01:33:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Of a variety of different Avengers teams

[01:34:00] [SPEAKER_03]: That will come together in the main Avengers movies

[01:34:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Rather than Thunderbolts being

[01:34:04] [SPEAKER_03]: A proper Avengers reboot

[01:34:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Only because I don't think that those characters

[01:34:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Have the

[01:34:09] [SPEAKER_03]: The presence or

[01:34:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Or the

[01:34:12] [SPEAKER_03]: The love from fans

[01:34:16] [SPEAKER_03]: To really fit that moniker

[01:34:18] [SPEAKER_03]: And have people feel satisfied by that

[01:34:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Fair enough

[01:34:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Are you more excited about this

[01:34:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Than you are the Captain America Brave New World film?

[01:34:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Right now I think

[01:34:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Thunderbolts looks more promising

[01:34:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Than the new Captain America movie

[01:34:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Thunderbolts looks more interesting for sure

[01:34:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I am excited to see if

[01:34:34] [SPEAKER_04]: If Brave New World doesn't

[01:34:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Shit the bed and is a great movie let's say

[01:34:38] [SPEAKER_04]: It can really do a lot of good

[01:34:40] [SPEAKER_04]: For the MCU

[01:34:41] [SPEAKER_04]: If the Thunderbolts is a great movie

[01:34:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It's gonna be a good thing

[01:34:44] [SPEAKER_04]: But if Brave New World is really bad

[01:34:48] [SPEAKER_04]: It's gonna really throw things off course

[01:34:50] [SPEAKER_04]: If this movie is really bad

[01:34:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know that it's gonna really do anything

[01:34:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I think there's more at stake with

[01:34:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Brave New World that's all. Maybe

[01:34:57] [SPEAKER_03]: You could be right there at least when it comes to

[01:34:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Just the future of Captain America. Well I'll take it

[01:35:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Just like my dad you could be right there

[01:35:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I just don't want you to get your hopes up

[01:35:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay Tim

[01:35:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Are you excited about the Fantastic Four?

[01:35:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I would say that I am cautiously optimistic

[01:35:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not that excited about it yet

[01:35:12] [SPEAKER_03]: All I've seen so far is the

[01:35:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Leaked concept trailer

[01:35:16] [SPEAKER_03]: That they played at Comic Con and D23

[01:35:18] [SPEAKER_03]: And it has an interesting

[01:35:21] [SPEAKER_03]: 1960s aesthetic

[01:35:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I like the approach that they're going for

[01:35:23] [SPEAKER_03]: It's this kind of classic comic book vibe

[01:35:25] [SPEAKER_03]: And I really dig the cast

[01:35:27] [SPEAKER_03]: But I haven't seen anything that

[01:35:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Has been like oh yeah I can't wait for Fantastic Four

[01:35:32] [SPEAKER_03]: But I know how much Kevin Feige likes

[01:35:34] [SPEAKER_03]: And respects Fantastic Four

[01:35:35] [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm curious to see what they can do with it

[01:35:38] [SPEAKER_03]: In the MCU

[01:35:39] [SPEAKER_03]: So maybe we'll see

[01:35:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Alright

[01:35:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Anything else, buddies? Pals?

[01:35:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Brad

[01:35:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Brad just wrapped his uncircumcised

[01:35:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Cock around the head of the microphone

[01:35:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Could you imagine if I could stretch my foreskin

[01:35:59] [SPEAKER_03]: So that I could fit around the size of this mic

[01:36:01] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I want to do? Disturb the

[01:36:02] [SPEAKER_03]: The size of this mic is like

[01:36:03] [SPEAKER_03]: The size of a baseball roughly

[01:36:06] [SPEAKER_04]: It looks like an anaconda swallowing it to prey

[01:36:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Gosh it's impressive

[01:36:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It is ladies

[01:36:11] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like girthy paper

[01:36:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Girthy Gertrude

[01:36:15] [SPEAKER_04]: What does paytho... I'm going to look that up

[01:36:17] [SPEAKER_05]: I know it's... By the way you keep on saying paythos

[01:36:19] [SPEAKER_05]: It's pathos

[01:36:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what either one of them mean

[01:36:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Pathos is about

[01:36:28] [SPEAKER_04]: The

[01:36:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Judgment Day? Feelings

[01:36:30] [SPEAKER_05]: No it's about emotions I think

[01:36:32] [SPEAKER_04]: No

[01:36:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Pathos is a

[01:36:36] [SPEAKER_04]: French dessert

[01:36:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Pathos is a quality that evokes pity or sadness

[01:36:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Yep

[01:36:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh

[01:36:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I actually didn't know what that meant

[01:36:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I really thought it was a

[01:36:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Placelolder

[01:36:49] [SPEAKER_03]: It's pathos

[01:36:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Go ahead and look it up and you'll see

[01:36:52] [SPEAKER_03]: The line above the A is signifying a long

[01:36:55] [SPEAKER_03]: A and it's pathos

[01:36:56] [SPEAKER_05]: According to Wikipedia

[01:37:00] [SPEAKER_05]: It's pathos

[01:37:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Love this debate

[01:37:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I really did think it was... It's right though

[01:37:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought it was a place for something like

[01:37:08] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like guys where it's in the ether

[01:37:09] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the pathos of the world

[01:37:12] [SPEAKER_03]: It's usually...

[01:37:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Sad though, right?

[01:37:16] [SPEAKER_03]: It's usually like swelling with emotion

[01:37:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Like full of...

[01:37:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Sad emotion

[01:37:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Alright well learn something new every day

[01:37:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Sometimes

[01:37:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Pathos is a thick tree bark

[01:37:29] [SPEAKER_04]: On a palm tree

[01:37:31] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what a pathos is

[01:37:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for listening to the podcast

[01:37:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I know it's rough sometimes

[01:37:36] [SPEAKER_05]: I know it's a sludge to get to the end here

[01:37:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah you know

[01:37:40] [SPEAKER_03]: And we try to watch the movies

[01:37:42] [SPEAKER_03]: That were supposed to watch

[01:37:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I know I do my damnedest

[01:37:47] [SPEAKER_03]: And...

[01:37:48] [SPEAKER_03]: I try, Ben doesn't

[01:37:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Like you actually do the assignment

[01:37:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I try, Ben doesn't

[01:37:54] [SPEAKER_03]: I did two assignments this week

[01:37:55] [SPEAKER_03]: And I went to the theater four times

[01:37:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Brad brought the come part of a treat

[01:38:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Tonight and I think that we just glossed over that

[01:38:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry are you being ungrateful

[01:38:04] [SPEAKER_03]: That I've supplied your mouth?

[01:38:06] [SPEAKER_03]: With cum?

[01:38:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I'm being very ungrateful

[01:38:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay well maybe don't kink shame

[01:38:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't well

[01:38:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah

[01:38:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Forgot it's 2024 and all this woke bullshit around us

[01:38:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Here we go, here comes

[01:38:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Red Ben

[01:38:22] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a brave new world

[01:38:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Red Hulk, Red Ben's over here

[01:38:25] [SPEAKER_04]: The revenge

[01:38:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh

[01:38:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Very quickly before we end

[01:38:31] [SPEAKER_04]: In Orion and the Dark

[01:38:33] [SPEAKER_04]: There is a very

[01:38:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Subtle joke

[01:38:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Where

[01:38:39] [SPEAKER_04]: They pull out a book for nighttime

[01:38:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Story reading because Orion's scared of the dark

[01:38:42] [SPEAKER_04]: So he grabs a book off his shelf

[01:38:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's Infinite Jest

[01:38:47] [SPEAKER_04]: By David Foster Wallace

[01:38:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And it doesn't say Infinite Jest

[01:38:50] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just a crown on it

[01:38:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And it says why don't we just read this by David Foster Wallace

[01:38:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Just a real quick read

[01:38:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And I paused it and I was like boys

[01:38:57] [SPEAKER_04]: You'll never really

[01:38:58] [SPEAKER_04]: In college you won't understand this

[01:39:01] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a very adult joke about

[01:39:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Because Infinite Jest is one of the hardest books

[01:39:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I told Rune and said you're older than

[01:39:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Ender, if you

[01:39:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Read Infinite Jest

[01:39:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I will give you a million dollars

[01:39:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god

[01:39:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And he wants to know where he can find it

[01:39:17] [SPEAKER_04]: So on that note

[01:39:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I do that too

[01:39:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for listening guys

[01:39:22] [SPEAKER_03]: We love that you tune in to listen to our bullshit

[01:39:25] [SPEAKER_03]: We're going to keep this going on the regular

[01:39:27] [SPEAKER_03]: For a while hopefully

[01:39:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Unless Ben screws up again

[01:39:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll probably be gone next week

[01:39:32] [SPEAKER_05]: And we're coming back soon on the 10 to 1 pod

[01:39:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah Saturday Night Live returns

[01:39:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Next weekend so we'll be back with a new

[01:39:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Episode of the 10 to 1

[01:39:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Recapping the episode and reviewing how good

[01:39:42] [SPEAKER_03]: The sketches were

[01:39:44] [SPEAKER_04]: If you haven't seen the lineup

[01:39:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Go on our Facebook page

[01:39:47] [SPEAKER_04]: The 10 to 1 and you can see the first 5

[01:39:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Hosts they've announced

[01:39:51] [SPEAKER_03]: And for the first time

[01:39:53] [SPEAKER_03]: In a long time they're doing 4

[01:39:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Back to back episodes that is very rare

[01:39:57] [SPEAKER_03]: That they do that many in a row

[01:39:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Pretty hardcore we're excited about it

[01:40:01] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a big deal we'll be doing

[01:40:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Plenty of SNL stuff over the 10 to 1

[01:40:05] [SPEAKER_03]: And we'll be sticking with goflix yourself

[01:40:07] [SPEAKER_03]: As often as we can

[01:40:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Assuming Ben doesn't mess it up

[01:40:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I can't wait to fuck it up everybody

[01:40:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Bye everybody bye

[01:40:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Nah cheats ain't no
