Ben, Brad, and Nate are back together, and they have watched movies or películas. Ben stopped his vagabonding just long enough to watch the masterpiece Cat in the Hat and record a new episode. Nate has been spending some time watching Mùsica, which might not make sense at first, but you'll understand. Meanwhile, Brad is finally on the Sydney Sweeney bandwagon after seeing Immaculate and remembering that she was in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. Plus, we watch the trailers for Unfrosted (HEAT'EM UP, EAT'EM UPS!) and Bad Boys: Ride or Die (JOEY PANTS!). We hope you like cheeseburgers too! Sit down and crank it up!

[00:00:00] Hey everybody, Go Flix Yourself, Hey Everybody, Hey Everybody, Go Flix Yourself
[00:00:17] Hey everybody, it's another episode of Go Flix Yourself. My name is Ben Conowitz and with me as always is the
[00:00:23] Scott's tissue to my Kleenex Bradford Oman. Hey, that's me. I'll tear your ass
[00:00:28] And you know what? The puffs tissue to my Kleenex. Nate Lauchs
[00:00:35] I'm light and fluffy. You are light and fluffy. I make a lot more dingle berries though.
[00:00:40] You know that I'm talking about tissue for your face, right? Because it's Kleenex.
[00:00:44] Oh, I thought I was thinking about Scott's toilet paper. And I don't know why. Which is awful.
[00:00:48] Because I said Kleenex and then you still thought do you think that's you said Scott's
[00:00:52] tissue. Yeah. And then I said to my Kleenex. Scott's tissue is the name of the toilet
[00:00:56] paper too. Okay, so the word is really, really should have given you Scott's issue is terrible.
[00:01:02] It is like single ply like finger through the toilet paper like just trash toilet. That's what I buy
[00:01:08] though. You don't buy single ply. Do you know there are lots upstairs right now, but this
[00:01:13] scouts is not single ply that is not single ply. It's very thin. It's very thin double
[00:01:19] I think it's two ply, but it's still very thin. It's very thin. It's single ply. I know
[00:01:23] it's all it's finger through. I get it. Yeah, seriously. You got to do like so much where
[00:01:29] you use the whole role. Yeah, otherwise I'm getting shit all over these fingers.
[00:01:32] Oh, well welcome to go. All shit edition. Brad speaking of all shit. What do you have
[00:01:39] for the sponsor this week? Well that's rude. Yeah. When have I ever brought something
[00:01:45] on? There's been some times one. I could name a thousand. I'm waiting. Anything
[00:01:52] Brox that you've ever brought? Yeah, Brox are all bad. I'm pretty sure we never did the
[00:01:56] disgusting Brock step on go flicks yourself. Okay, but the brach stuff you did bring
[00:02:01] wasn't good. No, we did on the radio show, but we've also done it here. I don't think
[00:02:05] we have. What's the sponsor super gross? What do you like on a good show?
[00:02:14] Cheeseburger. See this is what I'm talking about. Hey, Ben, do you like egg on a cheeseburger?
[00:02:19] Yeah, I do. Do you like bacon? Oh yeah. Come on. Are you going to cheddar or American?
[00:02:26] Gouda if they have it. Who's a fancy boy? I like Gouda. It's a Gouda burger. Who's
[00:02:31] about no fancy? What are you doing for kindness? Hey, Brad. You're doing lettuce?
[00:02:39] Do you like lettuce? I do. What about pickle? Nope. Manage or ketchup? Both. You're kidding.
[00:02:46] Mustard? Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Shut up, Nate! Better than I were talking. Are you doing
[00:02:51] onions? Sauteed, yes. Sauteed? I don't like if they're crispy and fresh. Oh. Wait, you
[00:02:57] like raw, crispy white onions? Yeah. Oh, no way. Raw onions? Well, I mean not like
[00:03:02] raw, but not like soggy onions either. No, like sauteed. No, no, but like they
[00:03:07] still get soggy though. I like them when they're still, they still got some crisp to them. Do
[00:03:11] you like them cooked or just like, just like cut up a slice and put them on there? I can
[00:03:15] have it raw. I don't mind raw onions on a burger. Well, I need a... But I don't put a
[00:03:21] lot. You know, just a little bit, just for a little kick. What about barbecue sauce?
[00:03:25] Do you like barbecue sauce? Love. Depends on the burger, but like, I'll put it on
[00:03:29] like a barbecue cheddar, or a cheddar bacon burger. Barbecue sauce on that? Yum. Peanut
[00:03:34] butter is good on a burger. I love peanut butter burger. Yeah, I know. I like it good also.
[00:03:39] Have you ever had like a tomato jam on a burger? Ketchup? No, it's not ketchup. Like a tomato
[00:03:45] jam. It's red. It's just jazzed in there. Jesus. It's just jazzed in there. Really.
[00:03:50] I like any, like a garlic aioli. Oh yeah, I'll do that. No fucking tomato though.
[00:03:55] No, no, no, no. Why did we... Hey, Slimer took a shit in my mouth and it turned
[00:04:01] it red. Yeah. It's just like Joe Biden. Jesus. Gosh, it's ruined. You know, trying to have
[00:04:09] a nice conversation about cheeseburgers and you got to make it all political.
[00:04:12] You're all, let's go Brandon over here. As always, Nate, Republican, Lausges. So anyway,
[00:04:18] is there anything other than tomatoes you guys don't like on your burgers? Mustard.
[00:04:22] Hate mustard. Can't stand mustard. What about a Dijon? No, I don't want any fucking mustard.
[00:04:26] What about mushrooms? Oh, no. No, no. Fucking what am I an asshole? Yeah, also these are not,
[00:04:31] that to me is not a burger topper. You know, I don't really look at it. There are certain
[00:04:35] here. How about black olives? No, no, of course. No, but some people like a good,
[00:04:38] like Swiss mushroom burger. It's a pretty popular burger. Yeah. No, it's not. It is.
[00:04:43] Not for you. I agree with you. It's awful. I don't want it. Yeah. Also, that's more
[00:04:48] of a patty melt. Not necessarily a burger. If you got the right bread for it. Yeah,
[00:04:53] but they make burger. What the fuck are we doing? Well, then I want to talk about
[00:04:57] burgers because I know you love good meat sandwich and he likes meat. He loves
[00:05:01] meat. He loves meat. You like putting meat between bread and you like the flavor. Okay.
[00:05:05] Yeah. And so hot dog of sandwich. Oh my God. So today I have a treat. I have a treat.
[00:05:12] You can hear it. Yeah, I can hear it. We can all hear it. Got a new treat. Now, don't
[00:05:17] look at the fucking bag. Don't show us the bag. You hear the exasperation in my voice
[00:05:22] when I talk to you. Well, it's just because you're tired and you're out of shape.
[00:05:27] Don't you ruin this? Don't you fucking ruin this, Nate? You get a chip and you don't ruin it.
[00:05:35] Don't you look at that. Don't you even stare one little... I'm looking at you in the eyes.
[00:05:40] You look me right in the eyes and you put that chip in your mouth and you stare at
[00:05:43] me directly. I thought you said you didn't like mustard. Don't...
[00:05:49] I'm sorry, everybody. Oh, this is disappointing. It tastes like a mustard burger. Yeah, there
[00:05:55] is way too much mustard on this fake ass burger. Why'd they do that? Why'd they do that?
[00:06:03] So this is a Doritos late night sizzling cheeseburger. Nate, that is something
[00:06:08] that one of my girlfriend's kids would say. Why'd they do that? Late night
[00:06:13] sizzling cheeseburger. You do get the meat flavor. Actually, the more I eat it,
[00:06:16] the more I like them. The meat flavor there is solid. There is a mustard flavor.
[00:06:20] That's really upsetting. Late night. Have a couple more and you're going to get it.
[00:06:27] That's always my biggest problem whenever they do a cheeseburger flavor thing is
[00:06:30] they always have to get a little bit of mustard in there. I'm just like,
[00:06:33] come on guys, what are we doing here? This is America. No burger needs mustard
[00:06:37] by default. Make better choices. That's all I ask of you is make better
[00:06:42] choices Doritos. Yeah, so Doritos of Frito Lake Company. Doritos is a
[00:06:46] Frito Lake Company. Well, thank you for your lay for sponsoring the show and
[00:06:49] sending us a $1,000 check. Yeah, you can get these at Kroger's right now.
[00:06:53] I think that's where I don't go to Kroger anymore. Not after rat feces.
[00:06:56] They fixed it. It's fine. Yeah, they were close for a day. All the rats are
[00:07:01] gone. Honestly though, this is our local Kroger got closed down by
[00:07:06] the health department because of a mouse and rat infestation and Brad went
[00:07:11] to the hospital. They said, I'm going to go back to the next day. No, I did
[00:07:15] not. They said close indefinitely and evidently in La Porte, Indiana,
[00:07:19] indefinitely means 12 hours. Apparently though, they really did like once
[00:07:24] they heard what was going on, they sent a small army of people. That's
[00:07:28] what I would say to you. Completely overhaul everything. You mean once
[00:07:32] Kroger found out what was going on? The main company? Yeah. Not just like
[00:07:36] fucking overhaul everything. Yeah, I'm still not going back ever.
[00:07:40] You know what? L's value land. That's where I've been going. That's where
[00:07:44] I've been going. I would love overpaying for groceries. Yeah, because you support local
[00:07:48] Brad. And I don't like mouse dropping. Yeah, I don't like mouse shit. Have you ever
[00:07:52] tried it? Yes, because I used to go to Kroger. Okay. So there was no
[00:07:57] difference. Yeah, pretty bad. Because I have this feeling that Kroger's not
[00:08:00] going to sponsor our podcast in the future. That's okay. I don't know
[00:08:03] anybody that works here. Doritos. Late night sizzling cheese. I know a lot of people
[00:08:07] and I'm sorry. Like I said, it grew on me. By the third chip, I wasn't
[00:08:11] hating it. I'm not a fan. Just the mustard ruin everything. I think it was
[00:08:15] terrible. Hey, what's the last movie you saw, Nate? The last movie I saw
[00:08:20] was a movie called Musica. It is a new movie on Prime. And it
[00:08:27] is about a guy that essentially is constantly obsessed with, there's
[00:08:35] a condition that exists. I don't know what it's called, but he hears music
[00:08:39] all the time. And so it's kind of a romcom, but also a movie kind of
[00:08:48] coming of age story as well. And it was really good. It has Camilla Mendez
[00:08:54] maybe as her name. I don't know. You saw the movie. Yeah, it has like, do you
[00:09:00] know there's some movies that have casts where you're like, I don't know
[00:09:05] these people fully, but I've seen them in other things. It's one of those
[00:09:09] movies. Okay, Rudy Mancuso is the one that directed and starred in it
[00:09:16] and wrote it. But I'm going to say this. I actually really like this
[00:09:20] film. I like the way it was directed. It's creative. The music is really
[00:09:24] good. It's almost like a musical in some ways, not always with lyrics, but
[00:09:30] just it has a very, very theatrical musical element to it. And it's hard
[00:09:36] to explain it until you maybe if you see the trailer you can understand it,
[00:09:39] but really got to watch the film. Camilla Mendez is in it, J.B.
[00:09:42] Smooth. A lot of fun. I really like this film. What made you want to
[00:09:47] do this? It was on, so it's on Prime right now. So when we opened our
[00:09:53] Amazon Fire stick, it was the first thing that came up. And Finn and I were
[00:09:58] looking for a movie. The trailer came on. It was just one of those
[00:10:01] things. You have autoplay on? Yeah, I do. I know. You're a psychopath.
[00:10:05] And so we went to that and said let's just watch this. What exactly is
[00:10:09] autoplay? I mean, I understand the term but like... You know how in apps
[00:10:13] if you're scrolling through and you stop on something it'll start
[00:10:15] playing the trailer? Oh, sure. Got you. Yeah, that drives me fucking insane.
[00:10:18] So you had that with movies? No, he had it on. So when he goes in the
[00:10:21] Prime... I see the trailers. Yeah, so it happens. Just the trailer. The
[00:10:24] movie doesn't start. No, no, the trailer. Oh, and I'm fine with that.
[00:10:27] I hate it. But it has a like a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. It is only
[00:10:33] 91 minutes, so it's the perfect length. I really enjoyed it. I would
[00:10:38] highly recommend it if you have Amazon Prime and you're looking
[00:10:42] for a fun movie to watch. No, I've heard it's good. I've seen some critics
[00:10:47] talk about it that it's a very good movie so I'm curious. Yeah, and it's
[00:10:51] also... The subplot is to... He's Brazilian American. His father's
[00:10:58] not in the story but his mother is Brazilian and there's also a
[00:11:02] lot of kind of immigrant undertones as well about... It's really
[00:11:06] interesting where kids that are born in America to immigrant
[00:11:11] parents feel very torn between the nation of their parents and the
[00:11:16] nation they're born in. They feel very fully American but their
[00:11:21] parents don't. So there's that tension there and it does a good
[00:11:24] job of telling that story because it's kind of autobiographical
[00:11:28] for the director and main actor Rudy Mincuso. So again, fun
[00:11:33] movie if you can see it. Another one I watched was Dune Part
[00:11:37] 2. Have you seen that one? I have. We all liked it, right? Do
[00:11:42] I have to say anything more about that? I'm not sure that... I think
[00:11:44] I'm the only one who talked about Dune 2 because I don't think Ben
[00:11:46] had seen it when we last time we were on the pod. I liked it
[00:11:50] better than Dune 1. So I really wish that I would have
[00:11:54] watched the first one. We watched it like the day
[00:11:58] we watched it before. I watched it when it came out and then
[00:12:01] I watched Dune 2 and I was really lost for half the
[00:12:03] movie. Dune 2 is significantly better than Dune 1.
[00:12:06] It's very good. The performances are way better in my
[00:12:10] opinion but also I really do wish that I would have just
[00:12:14] rewatched the first one because I was a little bit... I mean I caught
[00:12:18] up eventually but there was a lot, you know? It's a heavy
[00:12:21] movie. There's a lot going on. Yeah. A lot of characters, a
[00:12:24] lot of planets. A lot of political intrigue. Timothy
[00:12:27] Shalame is just fantastic. He's great. And it's the first
[00:12:30] film. It was the one time where I was like... Alright. I think
[00:12:32] Brad, you mentioned this but it's one of the first films
[00:12:34] I've seen where he actually does something different than
[00:12:37] Boyish Charm, Timothy Shalame. I felt like he actually
[00:12:41] was acting in this. Yeah. Right. And did a really good
[00:12:44] job. Zendaya is always good. You know who? I thought
[00:12:47] it was really good. Rebecca Ferguson was really
[00:12:49] good in this as well. Well she's always good in
[00:12:51] everything. Yeah. But I mean she's just... She's just...
[00:12:53] Yeah. I agree. Is that the mom? Yeah. Yeah. She
[00:12:55] just does really good. Yeah. I really like this.
[00:12:58] Awesome Butler. You said this in your review. Such a
[00:13:02] good villain. Oh. Surprised me. Yeah. Surprised me.
[00:13:05] I would have... Madman. How much I disdained him in this.
[00:13:09] I would like to see him as a villain in a lot more.
[00:13:11] Mm-hmm. You know honestly like MCU stuff or Mad Max
[00:13:14] type stuff. Yeah. He clearly lends himself to
[00:13:18] the wild man crazy shit. Yeah. I wouldn't be
[00:13:21] surprised if that happened at some point. That's
[00:13:22] awesome. Yeah. The final movie I watched of
[00:13:25] Finn and I are watching war movies. He wants to
[00:13:30] watch some war movies. What's the impetus for this?
[00:13:33] He just is a genre of film. He said he hasn't
[00:13:35] watched many of them so... Okay. So Predator
[00:13:38] 1987. You're going to want to watch that.
[00:13:41] We will... General Hopper goes into the jungle
[00:13:44] and they send a rescue team in. Is this
[00:13:47] a true story? That's the plot of Predator.
[00:13:50] I know. I'm just saying... Yeah. So tell him
[00:13:52] that's what the movie is about. It's a war movie.
[00:13:55] We watched... The first one we watched...
[00:13:58] Well, we've seen a couple over the last month
[00:14:00] but our month and a half. But the latest one
[00:14:02] we watched was a film called We Were Soldiers.
[00:14:05] Do you remember that one? Yeah. With Mel Gibson.
[00:14:07] Yeah. Ben Ziedel.
[00:14:22] You
[00:14:53] So yeah. It was a... I actually
[00:14:56] loved this film when it came out. It's not the
[00:14:58] best film but it was always fun. I love...
[00:15:01] It's Vietnam, right? Yeah. But I loved that
[00:15:04] there's some complexity to this because they
[00:15:07] also show the Vietnamese side as a soldier
[00:15:10] in a general who is also trying to what
[00:15:13] they perceive to do with the right thing.
[00:15:15] And so they're showing both sides a little
[00:15:17] bit in this. It's not as nuanced as I
[00:15:19] thought. It's better than some. So I was
[00:15:21] just on vacation with my buddy Zach
[00:15:23] Kenny and he's a firefighter here in
[00:15:26] our town. One of his fellow firefighters
[00:15:28] gave him a book to read and it's... I don't
[00:15:30] remember the name of it but he was reading
[00:15:32] it on vacation and it's the... It was a...
[00:15:35] It's a story of the sold...
[00:15:38] The German soldiers in 1940, whatever.
[00:15:41] A guy interviewed them right after
[00:15:44] the war. And then I believe the guy's
[00:15:46] son went back and interviewed the same
[00:15:48] guy's ten years later to see what had
[00:15:51] changed about what they knew.
[00:15:53] Oh, are we the bad guys type thing?
[00:15:55] And so he's reading me excerpts from this
[00:15:57] book in a very similar fashion where we
[00:16:00] were told that we were defending Europe.
[00:16:02] We were told that the American invaders
[00:16:05] were going to take over the world and we
[00:16:07] were the last people to stop them. So
[00:16:09] they were fighting for what they truly
[00:16:10] believed in and of course we're
[00:16:11] fighting them saying you guys are
[00:16:13] trying to take over the world. But there
[00:16:15] is another side always and they're not
[00:16:17] all bad people. A lot of them just believe
[00:16:19] the propaganda. That's the craziest
[00:16:22] thing in the world. This wasn't the
[00:16:25] nuanced thing that you would have
[00:16:26] necessarily loved but it's not a terrible
[00:16:27] movie, right? I don't remember it being
[00:16:29] bad. No, there's actually some fun
[00:16:32] performances in it. There's some emotional
[00:16:34] elements and it was fun to see some of
[00:16:36] the cast, right? So you have Greg
[00:16:38] Keneer in there as like... I don't see
[00:16:40] Greg Keneer much. Did he get cancelled
[00:16:41] or anything or what? No.
[00:16:43] As far as we know Greg Keneer is not
[00:16:45] cancelled. Chris Klein, you know, because
[00:16:47] he was very successful at that point. He
[00:16:49] was kind of an up-and-coming actor.
[00:16:51] Kerry Russell obviously still doing
[00:16:53] something. You know who I haven't seen in a
[00:16:55] while? Barry Pepper. What happened to Barry
[00:16:57] Pepper? He's still around. He didn't
[00:16:59] necessarily take the Cavizel route but
[00:17:01] it's close. Is that... I don't think so.
[00:17:03] Is he doing kind of more alt-right stuff?
[00:17:05] No, I don't think so. I'm pretty sure he's not.
[00:17:07] Okay, okay, okay. He was in crawl.
[00:17:09] He wasn't crawl. You know who I
[00:17:11] love? Great movie. That doesn't get
[00:17:13] that much attention. Mel Gibson. No, Ryan
[00:17:15] Hurst. I like Ryan Hurst a lot.
[00:17:17] I don't know who that is. I'm not trying to
[00:17:19] know who that is either. Ryan Hurst was in
[00:17:21] Remember the Titans. That's probably the
[00:17:23] first film you've seen him in. He's
[00:17:25] the white linebacker in there, right?
[00:17:27] The main... Per tier? Okay.
[00:17:29] And then if you've ever seen
[00:17:31] Sons of Anarchy. No.
[00:17:33] He is a character in Sons of
[00:17:35] Anarchy which was on for
[00:17:37] five or six seasons. I mean I know
[00:17:39] what it is. And he does so
[00:17:41] well in that role that he's just
[00:17:43] fantastic. I didn't even know he was on Sons of
[00:17:45] Anarchy. Yeah, he's one of the main
[00:17:47] guys and I guess
[00:17:49] I'll spoil it. His death scene in
[00:17:51] that... Whoa! I'm going to spoil it because
[00:17:53] it was over in 2012.
[00:17:55] Shows a different shelf life, buddy.
[00:17:57] But is
[00:17:59] absolutely fantastic and he
[00:18:01] acts his butt off in it and he's so
[00:18:03] good. And I think he wanted to
[00:18:05] satellite. Yeah, he did. He wanted to
[00:18:07] satellite a word for that performance but
[00:18:09] he's the whole satellite.
[00:18:11] Nate's saying that like he's not just looking at the Wikipedia. No, that's what I said.
[00:18:13] I think... Nate, why is the satellite award so
[00:18:15] important? Well for me
[00:18:17] it's like better than the BAFTAs.
[00:18:19] Why?
[00:18:21] Well I think it's self-evident
[00:18:23] because it's the International Press Academy that does it.
[00:18:25] So it's not just like the British...
[00:18:27] Kind of like comparing the Hollywood Foreign Press to the Academy.
[00:18:29] Yeah. Yeah, because the Hollywood Foreign Press
[00:18:31] sucks, Nate.
[00:18:33] Do you really like the satellite awards better? No.
[00:18:35] Okay. That's why I was
[00:18:37] asking you. Let me
[00:18:39] the satellite awards are better because you don't have to be there to get it.
[00:18:41] Yeah.
[00:18:43] Such a tough...
[00:18:45] But you know what else is in this that I saw?
[00:18:47] John Hamm in a small role. Really?
[00:18:49] Yep. Hamming it up.
[00:18:51] Clark Gregg is in it as well.
[00:18:53] That's fun to see. Just like I said, I like watching movies...
[00:18:55] That's Agent Colson, Ben. Yeah, I like watching
[00:18:57] movies from early 2000s
[00:18:59] or late 90s
[00:19:01] where
[00:19:03] these guys are just cutting their teeth. Yeah, you see them now and you're like, holy
[00:19:05] shit. They had 10 lines in that film, right?
[00:19:07] They had a scene or two and now they're big deals.
[00:19:09] But you know, I
[00:19:11] bet that was just the biggest deal, right?
[00:19:13] For John Hamm to get a role
[00:19:15] in a film with Mel Gibson. Yeah, for sure.
[00:19:17] I want to talk as well about Sam Elliott.
[00:19:19] Sam Elliott's in this and I love Sam Elliott.
[00:19:21] And like, I just...
[00:19:23] Sam Elliott reminds me of my grandfather a lot
[00:19:25] and he probably reminds a lot of people of their grandfathers. Sure.
[00:19:27] Yeah, he definitely reminds me a lot
[00:19:29] of my Mexican grandfather.
[00:19:31] You also have an American grandfather.
[00:19:33] What?
[00:19:37] I need you to pull from
[00:19:39] within on that one, right?
[00:19:41] Do you guys have a favorite role from Sam Elliott?
[00:19:43] Is it the big Lebowski? No.
[00:19:45] For me it's Tombstone. For me it's Prancer.
[00:19:47] Is it really? No.
[00:19:49] I mean, I watch Prancer.
[00:19:51] Is it
[00:19:53] The Good Dinosaur? He plays the voice of Butch.
[00:19:55] Yeah, that was definitely my favorite role of him.
[00:19:57] I love Sam Elliott.
[00:19:59] My favorite performance is Wild West.
[00:20:03] Does that know what that is? Nope.
[00:20:05] Is it the prequel to Wild Wild West?
[00:20:07] No, he's the voice of Adam West's brother
[00:20:09] and family guy who took over as mayor.
[00:20:11] Oh, that's funny.
[00:20:13] It's a pretty good way to do that.
[00:20:15] I like Sam Elliott though. He does a good job.
[00:20:17] My mom got a kiss from Sam Elliott on her cheek.
[00:20:19] Oh.
[00:20:21] Yeah.
[00:20:23] When he was in town shooting Prancer.
[00:20:25] Yeah, for those of our international viewers,
[00:20:27] Prancer was shot
[00:20:29] in La Porte, Indiana.
[00:20:31] And if you don't know what Prancer is, it's a Christmas movie.
[00:20:33] One of the greatest.
[00:20:35] So, well...
[00:20:37] It's pretty good.
[00:20:39] I think we talked about this before.
[00:20:41] It's like a Sundance Christmas movie basically.
[00:20:43] Yeah, I mean, it definitely has more
[00:20:45] of an independent movie vibe to it obviously.
[00:20:47] But they shot that here in our town of La Porte.
[00:20:49] A lot of people met Sam Elliott
[00:20:51] and said he was a very nice guy.
[00:20:53] Yes.
[00:20:55] And also very handsome.
[00:20:57] That's what I'm saying. He's just an age as well.
[00:20:59] He's been old for 40 years now.
[00:21:01] I think he just went gray at like 32.
[00:21:03] Well, he's got the Christopher Lloyd condition.
[00:21:05] Yeah.
[00:21:07] He's got white hair at 41.
[00:21:09] Well, that is all I've seen
[00:21:11] that I can think of
[00:21:13] right now anyway.
[00:21:15] We'll go think of some more later.
[00:21:17] Ben, what did you see, buddy?
[00:21:19] So, I think the last time we recorded...
[00:21:21] I've been on a Marvel kick again.
[00:21:23] Okay.
[00:21:25] So, I've been rewatching a lot of the MCU.
[00:21:27] And I don't remember if I've already talked about all this,
[00:21:29] but I've watched quite a few of those
[00:21:31] like Age of Ultron and Avengers
[00:21:33] and Winter Soldier.
[00:21:35] And
[00:21:37] Guardians 1 and 2
[00:21:39] and
[00:21:41] the original Iron Man.
[00:21:43] Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3.
[00:21:45] Yeah.
[00:21:47] I'm just kind of going through...
[00:21:49] You know, I've seen the Thor's a lot,
[00:21:51] so I didn't rewatch those.
[00:21:53] But I watched all the...
[00:21:55] I think Thor 1 has a...
[00:21:57] There's a Fish Out of Water charm there.
[00:21:59] And 3 is one of the best ones in the MCU
[00:22:01] by far.
[00:22:03] But yeah,
[00:22:05] watching them all again
[00:22:07] Winter Soldier sticks out.
[00:22:09] Winter Soldier is the perfect thing.
[00:22:11] It is a great film.
[00:22:13] It's still...
[00:22:15] I mean, the CGI and everything,
[00:22:17] some of the stuff in the Avengers
[00:22:19] has aged a bit and this and that,
[00:22:21] but still in Winter Soldier,
[00:22:23] the way that they shoot scenes and stuff,
[00:22:25] it's so practical.
[00:22:27] They really look great still.
[00:22:29] And of course there's so many, you know,
[00:22:31] mic drops in that movie as far as like
[00:22:33] building what is the MCU's going to become, right?
[00:22:35] Just really fucking good.
[00:22:37] So that was tremendous.
[00:22:39] It's 10 years old this year.
[00:22:41] Winter Soldier?
[00:22:43] Yeah. So good though.
[00:22:45] And finally Smoke in France.
[00:22:47] Anyway,
[00:22:49] I also watched...
[00:22:51] Halfway through Ricky Stinecky.
[00:22:53] Oh, halfway? That's not that long of a movie.
[00:22:55] Yeah, what are you doing?
[00:22:57] Just wanna put that out there.
[00:22:59] It's not just all those used up movies.
[00:23:01] Like you watch whole movies though.
[00:23:03] And don't bring them up unless you've watched a whole movie.
[00:23:05] Alright, well I watched The Cat in the Hat last night with my dumb friend Brad.
[00:23:07] Fuck yeah, you did.
[00:23:11] Yeah, we did!
[00:23:13] Did you guys really?
[00:23:15] Brad was like, I have a nettle.
[00:23:17] And I would like to watch The Cat in the Hat.
[00:23:19] He hasn't seen it since it came out.
[00:23:21] I haven't seen it since it came out.
[00:23:23] This movie came out in 2003.
[00:23:25] So we're talking about a 21 year old movie.
[00:23:27] Yeah, I have not seen that movie in forever.
[00:23:29] It's an hour 20 with credits.
[00:23:31] So it's an hour 15.
[00:23:33] Maybe an hour 12.
[00:23:35] And why are you gonna turn that down?
[00:23:37] Like that's a breeze.
[00:23:39] That's a breeze!
[00:23:41] And also he was like, you gotta watch this movie because Mike Myers commits.
[00:23:43] He goes for it.
[00:23:45] I couldn't believe how many different accents he was doing in this film.
[00:23:47] Like doing a full on Barbara Streisand.
[00:23:49] His default is basically Coffee Talk.
[00:23:51] It's Coffee Talk.
[00:23:53] 100%.
[00:23:55] It's just crazy.
[00:23:57] But then also, when he says oh yeah,
[00:23:59] he'll do it.
[00:24:01] And I'll lean away from the mic here.
[00:24:03] Oh yeah!
[00:24:05] So he'll do this really, really Jewish setup
[00:24:07] where he's like, I don't know, what are you thinking?
[00:24:09] Oh yeah!
[00:24:11] He's like the Kool-Aid man.
[00:24:13] He's thinking a little more Snaggle Puss than it is in the movie.
[00:24:15] I said he was doing Snaggle Puss.
[00:24:17] No, no, he has a Snaggle Puss attitude but the voice you're doing is
[00:24:19] it's too Snaggle Puss.
[00:24:21] He's not like that in the movie.
[00:24:23] Yeah he is!
[00:24:25] No, he's doing more of this.
[00:24:27] This is how he talks.
[00:24:29] But then also exit stage right even.
[00:24:31] He's doing that too.
[00:24:33] He doesn't do that exact voice.
[00:24:35] It's better when Mike Myers says it.
[00:24:37] Oh is it?
[00:24:39] It's better than what we are doing right now on the couch.
[00:24:41] The movie is bad.
[00:24:43] It's absolutely nonsense.
[00:24:45] But I think Mike Myers is so genuinely funny in this movie
[00:24:49] because there are so many insane things that he can do as the cat in the hat
[00:24:53] because the character has no limits.
[00:24:55] He uses all these imaginary magical things.
[00:24:59] And back in 2003 they gave him a $200 million budget or whatever.
[00:25:03] It's $109 million.
[00:25:05] But these days it's probably $500 million.
[00:25:07] They gave him practical effects, practical sets.
[00:25:10] It's all real!
[00:25:12] And it was like $500 million on the background at Universal
[00:25:14] on fucking shit up.
[00:25:16] They had a scene of a car crash and it was like a 10 second scene.
[00:25:18] And it was like how much money was that?
[00:25:20] It's incredible.
[00:25:22] And Alec Baldwin is going ham as the villain.
[00:25:26] I have not seen this film in so long
[00:25:28] and you guys are actually kind of intriguing me right now.
[00:25:32] Yeah it's worth a watch just to be like what the fuck am I watching?
[00:25:34] I really enjoy watching the cat in the hat because of Mike Myers.
[00:25:38] There are parts that they genuinely make me laugh because they're so silly.
[00:25:42] Did you enjoy watching it Ben?
[00:25:44] Of course I did.
[00:25:46] There's a lot of sexual innuendo.
[00:25:48] There's a lot of jokes that are just for adults for sure.
[00:25:51] Where there's a literal wink at the camera and he breaks the fourth wall.
[00:25:54] And then they move on.
[00:25:56] He reacts a lot like an old timey comedian would too.
[00:26:00] Almost like he's doing a vaudeville show in a way.
[00:26:02] One of my favorite parts that makes me laugh every single time
[00:26:05] is when they say well there's two options.
[00:26:08] We can go through a large variety of shots
[00:26:13] or we can do a fantastic musical number
[00:26:16] and Dakota Fanny goes how many shots?
[00:26:18] And he goes how many shots?
[00:26:20] You know?
[00:26:22] He's just having a lot of fun.
[00:26:24] He's having a lot of fun.
[00:26:25] And I have fun watching it.
[00:26:26] And I hope Nate, I hope you have fun watching it.
[00:26:28] I do need to re-see this.
[00:26:29] You should sit down and watch it with the kids.
[00:26:31] I would be fascinated to hear.
[00:26:33] Honestly, after you watch it, we should have Finn back on the show
[00:26:36] and talk to him.
[00:26:37] I would love to hear what he's going to say.
[00:26:38] I honestly want to hear how many frames per second the movie is.
[00:26:41] He will tell us.
[00:26:43] It's always 24.
[00:26:45] Unless it's Peter Jackson.
[00:26:47] No, it's a lot.
[00:26:48] I'm just saying, if he knows more about movies than I do,
[00:26:50] I'm embarrassed.
[00:26:51] It's okay.
[00:26:52] He knows a lot more than I do.
[00:26:54] Plus he sits down and watches them in entire chunks too.
[00:26:57] Yeah, he does.
[00:26:58] By the way, Ricky's and Nikki's funny.
[00:27:00] You should watch that.
[00:27:01] No, it is funny.
[00:27:02] I'm halfway through.
[00:27:04] I had to go do something.
[00:27:06] To be fair, it gets worse.
[00:27:08] But it's fine.
[00:27:09] It's like the film's a funny film.
[00:27:11] It's fun.
[00:27:12] Vacation Friends was better than what I've seen out of Ricky's
[00:27:17] two.
[00:27:18] What about Vacation Friends 2?
[00:27:19] Terrible.
[00:27:20] It's literally dog shit.
[00:27:21] I haven't watched any of them.
[00:27:23] Watch Vacation Friends do not watch Vacation Friends 2.
[00:27:25] Vacation Friends 2 adds Steve with shaming.
[00:27:27] You're like, oh good.
[00:27:28] And then you start watching it like, oh no.
[00:27:30] Why?
[00:27:31] Don't do that.
[00:27:32] Have you watched anything else?
[00:27:34] I mean, I just listed like the 17 movies I watched.
[00:27:38] Well, I was happy that you reminded us all the movies that are in the MCU
[00:27:41] because I'd forgotten since last time we talked about it.
[00:27:43] You know, what about you?
[00:27:45] There's some weeks that I owe you to watch a movie.
[00:27:48] I made some time to do a rewatch.
[00:27:50] And now I'm getting shit about that too.
[00:27:52] What about you?
[00:27:53] So what lesson did you learn?
[00:27:55] That you're a bad person.
[00:27:58] Oh yeah!
[00:28:00] And I thought it was ADR.
[00:28:02] It's the same inflection, the same delivery, the same intonation,
[00:28:05] the same volume.
[00:28:06] He's very good at telling.
[00:28:08] Oh yeah!
[00:28:09] It's that and it's like, he says it seven times in the film,
[00:28:12] but it's exactly the same.
[00:28:14] I'm like, that's just they're looping it.
[00:28:16] And Brzezzy, no, he's saying it every time.
[00:28:17] I'm like, I disagree.
[00:28:18] It can't be that perfect every time.
[00:28:20] Do it three times.
[00:28:21] I'll tell you if you could do it.
[00:28:22] Oh yeah!
[00:28:23] Oh yeah!
[00:28:24] Oh yeah!
[00:28:25] That's three times.
[00:28:26] Yeah, you can do it.
[00:28:27] Was that the exact same movie?
[00:28:28] Yeah, it really was.
[00:28:29] It really was.
[00:28:30] Okay, well I'm just really talented so...
[00:28:36] Yes you are, yes you are,
[00:28:38] but you're a talented little boy.
[00:28:40] I need to hear that this week boys, thank you.
[00:28:42] You're very talented.
[00:28:43] Yeah, very talented.
[00:28:45] And you do remind me of my parents, you know what?
[00:28:47] Because you were saying that, you both weren't looking at me.
[00:28:50] You were, Brad's on his phone and Nate was looking away.
[00:28:52] Yeah buddy, you're real talented.
[00:28:53] Are you looking at the movies you watch buddy?
[00:28:54] No, I'm just checking out porn.
[00:28:58] See what new uploads we got.
[00:29:00] Is that why the Dune Popcorn bucket is here?
[00:29:02] Yeah, I'm sorry, I just got to...
[00:29:04] He brings it everywhere.
[00:29:05] I find it weird that he does.
[00:29:06] He brings it everywhere.
[00:29:07] Hey guys, this is my Dune Popcorn bucket.
[00:29:09] Oh sorry, you don't take things that comfort you when you go places?
[00:29:12] You don't got a nice blanket you take with you?
[00:29:14] I'm sorry that I'm taking the Dune Popcorn bucket with me.
[00:29:16] That's something that comforts you, that's something you come for.
[00:29:19] Yeah, I wish I was the same difference.
[00:29:21] Same difference.
[00:29:22] I wish I was just gonna see you right now that you are actually under a blanket
[00:29:25] and like cuddled up right now.
[00:29:27] Well, cause we're in Ben's chilly basement and since it's the Midwest spring here
[00:29:32] it's chilly fucking cold.
[00:29:33] This is very comfortable.
[00:29:35] But it's practically taking off clothes already.
[00:29:37] Yeah, I'm in shorts and a t-shirt, I feel great.
[00:29:39] I feel like you just chugged half a bottle of Jack so his body's cold.
[00:29:41] I know, I'm just a big fan of you.
[00:29:43] Oh wait, his body's jacked.
[00:29:44] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:29:46] Check out these cum gutters.
[00:29:50] So hey, before this...
[00:29:51] Those are just mock gutters he has from the function of shots that he jizzes into.
[00:29:57] Yeah, the scrap yard will not take them.
[00:30:00] They're just stuck to each other like we can't tear them apart.
[00:30:03] No, what kind of cock did you use?
[00:30:05] I was like mine.
[00:30:07] There we go.
[00:30:08] We're got full circle.
[00:30:09] Instruction and wieners, I love it.
[00:30:13] Oh, like a hot dog at the break site.
[00:30:16] What are we doing here?
[00:30:18] Oh, you guys.
[00:30:21] I watched some things.
[00:30:22] What'd you watch?
[00:30:23] I watched Lisa Frankenstein.
[00:30:25] Oh, how was it?
[00:30:26] You haven't seen this yet?
[00:30:27] No, I haven't seen it yet.
[00:30:28] It's on Peacock so if you haven't watched it, it's conveniently available.
[00:30:30] I think it's called Peacock.
[00:30:32] Peacock!
[00:30:33] Lisa Frankenstein.
[00:30:34] It's great.
[00:30:35] This movie really...
[00:30:36] Is it really great?
[00:30:37] No, it really is.
[00:30:38] Why didn't you see it in theater then?
[00:30:39] I kept putting it off.
[00:30:40] I did want to go see it in theaters and then by the time I was feeling...
[00:30:43] And the reviews weren't perfect either, right?
[00:30:45] No, no, and I don't really understand why necessarily because I do...
[00:30:50] This is a kind of comedy that they don't make much anymore.
[00:30:54] It really does feel straight out of the 80s.
[00:30:57] It feels like it has the vibe of a Beetlejuice or a Drop Dead Fred, something kind of like that.
[00:31:06] And it's just...
[00:31:07] It's Catherine Newton's Fantastic.
[00:31:09] It has a nice tinge of dark comedy to it.
[00:31:13] It's got some nice romance.
[00:31:15] It has some great 1980s visual style.
[00:31:18] It's just really enjoyable.
[00:31:19] I like the soundtrack.
[00:31:21] I love the performances.
[00:31:23] It's just like, you know, bloody enough to be a little bit, you know, suspenseful in a way.
[00:31:30] But it's very much an 80s dark comedy.
[00:31:34] And I really liked that a lot.
[00:31:35] I dug it.
[00:31:37] I would recommend...
[00:31:38] I can't wait to see it.
[00:31:39] I would recommend you see it out.
[00:31:40] Some of the reviews kind of didn't scare me away, but it made me think,
[00:31:42] I'm just going to wait till this comes out on...
[00:31:44] No, if you...
[00:31:45] It's one of those movies where like just go along, you know, just with it and enjoy the ride that it has.
[00:31:50] Because it's a lot of fun.
[00:31:51] All right, what else do you see?
[00:31:53] I also saw...
[00:31:55] I've only watched one part of this, but there's two parts.
[00:31:58] And I watched Steve Martin.
[00:32:02] Oh yeah, the Martin documentary.
[00:32:03] Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:32:04] Dacabatari.
[00:32:05] That's out now.
[00:32:06] Where did you watch it?
[00:32:07] It's on Apple TV Plus.
[00:32:08] And I watched the first one, which was the then chapter,
[00:32:10] which is about his early stand-up career and how he became a comedian
[00:32:14] and all that jazz.
[00:32:15] Does it cover him being a magician?
[00:32:17] It does, yeah.
[00:32:18] Because Steve Martin really was a magician at Disneyland for a while.
[00:32:23] And he used to work in the magic shop, and that's kind of where he cut his teeth
[00:32:26] and like figured out certain old school showbiz things before he got into stand-up and whatnot.
[00:32:30] And it's interesting.
[00:32:31] It's not quite as good as I wanted it to be, and it's not that it's bad.
[00:32:35] It's just like...
[00:32:37] Is it not really unearthing anything that you don't already know?
[00:32:41] Well, is Steve Martin pretty boring?
[00:32:44] I mean honestly...
[00:32:45] Honestly, there is a little bit of an aspect to it because I like it because I'm into Steve Martin.
[00:32:52] Yeah, we host the SNL podcast as well.
[00:32:54] And there's a little bit of what Ben says because I read Born Standing Up, his book,
[00:32:58] and so they do talk about a lot of what he talks about in the book.
[00:33:02] So it's like, oh yeah, I know this.
[00:33:03] I read it as well.
[00:33:04] Yeah.
[00:33:05] But there's cool archival footage or something like that.
[00:33:07] I think my big problem honestly comes down to style the way that director Morgan Neville did it
[00:33:12] because I do like Morgan Neville.
[00:33:14] He did 20 feet from Stardom.
[00:33:15] He did the Mr. Rogers documentary.
[00:33:17] He's a good documentary filmmaker.
[00:33:19] But for this one, the style that he opted at least for this chapter,
[00:33:23] and I wonder if it's different for the now one that talks about Steve Martin's career
[00:33:27] and his movie career and what he's doing these days,
[00:33:29] is it's the kind of documentary where he is editing together a lot of archival snippets
[00:33:36] that aren't of Steve Martin.
[00:33:38] The style is where they take a lot of old school vintage footage and photos and stuff like that
[00:33:46] and use them and repurpose them to create a vibe of the 60s or the 70s.
[00:33:52] And so there is real footage of Steve Martin,
[00:33:54] but they're not using any actual talking heads.
[00:33:57] It's all voiceover.
[00:33:58] And so they identify who the voice is in the lower left-hand corner
[00:34:01] when it's Jerry Seinfeld or one of Steve Martin's girlfriends
[00:34:05] or his parents or something like that.
[00:34:07] But it kind of feels kind of frenetic and makes it a little harder to connect
[00:34:13] when it's just a lot of general cutting around at random bullshit
[00:34:16] that I would much rather see the talking head honestly.
[00:34:19] No, because there's a lot that's lost on facial expression
[00:34:23] and intonation when you're not watching.
[00:34:26] You're just hearing it?
[00:34:27] Yeah.
[00:34:28] Because some people aren't great at storytelling just in audio media.
[00:34:35] But some people have very expressive faces that you want to see.
[00:34:38] I want to see that.
[00:34:39] And there's something that kind of takes me out of it
[00:34:42] because it's the kind of thing where they'll use a real clip of Steve Martin
[00:34:48] doing his stand-up act,
[00:34:51] but it's a show where they didn't have a camera on the audience or something
[00:34:55] and so they splice in a footage of an audience from wherever.
[00:35:00] And just really just takes me out of it.
[00:35:03] It wasn't very exciting.
[00:35:05] And there's aspects of it that weren't particularly interesting.
[00:35:08] And some of it, I will say that some of it is also because aspects of Steve Martin's
[00:35:13] early stand-up career haven't aged in a way where it's still as funny as it was.
[00:35:19] There's some stuff that Steve Martin did when he was younger
[00:35:21] that is still brilliant.
[00:35:23] But there's other things...
[00:35:24] 1967?
[00:35:25] Yeah, but there's other things where I'm just like, okay.
[00:35:28] Of course.
[00:35:29] Like anything.
[00:35:30] Yeah.
[00:35:31] And so it has trouble getting momentum in a way.
[00:35:34] But there's still interesting stuff that I like hearing about
[00:35:39] and just there's cool stories of him talking about people that he opened for
[00:35:45] and things like that.
[00:35:47] So it's worth watching, but it was a little bit of a slog every now and then.
[00:35:51] I opened for a 32-year-old Milton Burl.
[00:35:54] And...
[00:35:55] But yeah.
[00:35:57] So I'm interested to watch this second chapter.
[00:35:58] Milton Burl is very old, Nate.
[00:36:00] That's not...
[00:36:01] No, that's Wilfer Brimley I was thinking of.
[00:36:04] Also very old.
[00:36:05] I got the Betis.
[00:36:06] I got the Betis.
[00:36:07] No, it's Diabetes.
[00:36:08] Diabetes.
[00:36:09] I got the Betis.
[00:36:10] It's not the Betis.
[00:36:11] It's not like he's not fucking up the word the.
[00:36:13] The Bulls.
[00:36:14] Diabetes.
[00:36:15] Diabetes.
[00:36:16] I got the Betis.
[00:36:17] That's not okay.
[00:36:18] That's not working out.
[00:36:19] But I got the Betis.
[00:36:20] That's fine.
[00:36:21] We're done.
[00:36:22] I got it.
[00:36:23] I also saw a movie called Immaculate.
[00:36:27] Oh, is that the one with Ben's crush?
[00:36:30] I'm not sure if it's Ben's crush.
[00:36:32] Kurt Cameron?
[00:36:33] Well, no, you said you didn't like her at all.
[00:36:34] You didn't find her very attractive and Ben did.
[00:36:37] No one ever said that.
[00:36:39] Not only anyone's.
[00:36:40] Sydney Sweeney?
[00:36:41] Right.
[00:36:42] I remember Ben saying...
[00:36:43] Oh, yeah, big fan.
[00:36:44] And then Brad was like...
[00:36:45] She's fine.
[00:36:46] She's fine.
[00:36:47] And I was like, wow, I'm in love.
[00:36:48] And you're like...
[00:36:49] Yeah, but I remember specifically in this studio, Ben was saying, I think she's very
[00:36:55] pretty.
[00:36:56] I would want to bring home and introduce to my mother.
[00:36:59] And you're like, she literally makes me want to vomit when I see her face.
[00:37:02] That does sound more familiar actually.
[00:37:04] Yeah.
[00:37:05] Now that's...
[00:37:06] All coming back, all coming back to me now.
[00:37:10] What are you doing?
[00:37:12] Are you Mark Wahlberg's fear yourself?
[00:37:16] No, Celine Dion punches her thing when she sings.
[00:37:19] You look like you're doing the thing that Mark Wahlberg doesn't fear where he's
[00:37:22] like beating his chest before he goes fucking crazy.
[00:37:24] He was doing the Matthew McConaughey thing from Wolf of Wall Street.
[00:37:28] Oh, that's a better one.
[00:37:29] I was like...
[00:37:30] No, because he was like...
[00:37:32] He was like reaching up hard.
[00:37:34] Like McConaughey keeps it close to the chest, but Mark Wahlberg was like...
[00:37:38] And Nate Lester's just punishing himself right now.
[00:37:40] Seriously?
[00:37:41] What are you doing?
[00:37:42] I've been in a lot of pain.
[00:37:43] No, it's called self-injurious behavior.
[00:37:46] We've got to talk to you about this.
[00:37:47] I feel like you've been reading about this.
[00:37:49] No, I did.
[00:37:50] I might see your thesis in college on it.
[00:37:52] I do recall that really quickly, by the way.
[00:37:54] Are you doing like a Da Vinci code thing where you're punishing yourself?
[00:37:57] I mean, maybe...
[00:37:59] Is that called self-flagilation?
[00:38:02] Yeah, flagulation.
[00:38:03] Do you also have a tricotillomania?
[00:38:05] Do you pull your own hair out?
[00:38:06] Is that really what that's called?
[00:38:08] No, but I'm really impressed that you remember it.
[00:38:10] I got a C minus in tricotillomania in high school.
[00:38:12] I have a degree in psychology and sometimes I pay attention.
[00:38:15] Did you?
[00:38:16] Do you know what tricotillomania is?
[00:38:19] I don't even know if that's true, but it sounds like it could be true.
[00:38:22] Like it sounds enough true.
[00:38:24] I hate you so much right now.
[00:38:26] I mean, jury's still out if that's a real word or not.
[00:38:29] I saw Immaculate.
[00:38:31] Conception?
[00:38:32] With Sydney Sweeney and it is great.
[00:38:37] You said that really sexually.
[00:38:39] No, no, it's a really good horror movie.
[00:38:41] It's a Rosemary's Baby Riff where Sydney Sweeney plays a nun
[00:38:45] who has just traveled overseas to Italy to take her vows,
[00:38:51] her convent shut down in America.
[00:38:53] She had a place to go until they offered her a space there.
[00:38:56] And she gets there, but this one takes a turn.
[00:39:01] But this one takes a turn.
[00:39:06] So I haven't really seen much of Sydney Sweeney's work.
[00:39:11] I haven't watched Euphoria.
[00:39:13] I haven't watched White Lotus.
[00:39:15] I haven't watched Madam Web Ball into You.
[00:39:17] Is that the new one?
[00:39:18] Anyone but you.
[00:39:19] I haven't seen that yet.
[00:39:20] I haven't seen Handmaid's Tale.
[00:39:22] So you only saw Madam Web?
[00:39:24] What have you seen?
[00:39:25] What have you seen?
[00:39:26] Madam Web and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
[00:39:28] That's it?
[00:39:29] As far as I remember anyway.
[00:39:30] And then her on SNL.
[00:39:31] Yeah, SNL.
[00:39:32] Oh, wow.
[00:39:33] Why?
[00:39:34] There's some good films in there.
[00:39:36] I haven't been actively avoiding it, necessarily.
[00:39:39] I just haven't seen them.
[00:39:40] And TV stuff, there's so much TV.
[00:39:42] I can't keep up with all the fucking TV.
[00:39:45] But so I've recognized that obviously she's very big right now.
[00:39:49] But I haven't seen anything where I've been like,
[00:39:51] oh yeah, she's a great actress.
[00:39:52] I saw this and I'm like, okay, now I get the Sydney Sweeney.
[00:39:55] Because she's awesome in this.
[00:39:56] And apparently she can just turn it the fuck on too.
[00:40:00] There were some stories.
[00:40:01] Or she can turn me on.
[00:40:02] I think that one.
[00:40:04] There were some stories about how she doesn't have
[00:40:07] like a big extensive prep, even for some of the crazy scenes
[00:40:11] that happened in this movie where she's screaming
[00:40:14] and terrified and everything.
[00:40:16] It really is just a thing where just before action,
[00:40:19] she's like, oh, yeah.
[00:40:20] And then all of a sudden she's just in it.
[00:40:23] And so she has some really great moments in this movie
[00:40:25] where she's just fantastic.
[00:40:27] I've dated women like that though.
[00:40:32] You see any other films?
[00:40:35] Such an asshole.
[00:40:37] Sometimes she's got to let Ben hang himself.
[00:40:41] He learns a lesson and we move on.
[00:40:43] No, but no, immaculate it was really good.
[00:40:47] I was really impressed by it.
[00:40:50] Her and her husband produced this film too, right?
[00:40:52] Oh, she's married?
[00:40:55] Yeah, her partner and her husband.
[00:40:57] It's producer.
[00:40:58] Also anyone but you.
[00:40:59] Oh really?
[00:41:00] Yeah.
[00:41:01] She even said throwing a little bit of shade on Madam Web
[00:41:03] that she wasn't necessarily fully invested in Madam Web
[00:41:08] but she used it as an opportunity to set up deals
[00:41:11] to make anyone but you
[00:41:13] and to be able to do stuff like immaculate.
[00:41:15] You should see anybody but you because I think you're like...
[00:41:18] Anyone but you.
[00:41:19] But yes, I do want to see it.
[00:41:20] I have heard that it's funny and entertaining.
[00:41:22] It's a nice run come.
[00:41:24] Yeah, that's what I've heard.
[00:41:25] So I will check it out at some point to be sure.
[00:41:29] All right.
[00:41:30] Yes, but those are all the movies
[00:41:32] that I've seen actually.
[00:41:35] Is there anything good coming out?
[00:41:37] Actually, I did rewatch Once Upon a Time in Hollywood recently
[00:41:40] because there was some online discussion that was happening.
[00:41:42] I was like, you know, I actually haven't seen that since I saw it in theaters
[00:41:45] and I decided to check it out again.
[00:41:47] Can you say a debate that Ben and I have had many, many, many times?
[00:41:52] This is not true.
[00:41:55] I just know it's not true no matter what you say right now.
[00:41:58] It's not true.
[00:41:59] Ben says that with two arms tied behind his back.
[00:42:04] He can beat Bruce Lee?
[00:42:06] No, no he wouldn't go that far.
[00:42:08] But that he could beat up Brad Pitt in that film
[00:42:13] with all the abs and like not even very much trying.
[00:42:18] Do you think Brad Pitt would have a chance to beat Ben in a fight?
[00:42:24] Does Ben... Does Brad have his arms tied behind his back?
[00:42:28] No, no, no because Ben wants to give him an advantage
[00:42:31] because again this isn't that hard for Ben.
[00:42:34] According to Ben, I think it's going to be a little harder but Ben's like...
[00:42:37] Is this on the heels of him directly, drunkly threatening his children?
[00:42:42] Because if so, I could beat that man's ass with my hand tied behind my back.
[00:42:46] I would just be so rageful that...
[00:42:48] I'm 330 pounds he's like a buck 50 soaking wet.
[00:42:51] I just sit on his ass.
[00:42:52] I wonder if he's one of those guys where you get to him in person
[00:42:55] and he's like 5'4".
[00:42:57] I would fuck him up.
[00:42:59] Even though he looks good for his age, he's getting up there in the U.S.
[00:43:03] And honestly, I feel like Ben's got enough inertia on his side.
[00:43:07] Even if Ben has his arms tied behind him, he throws his body at Brad Pitt
[00:43:12] and Brad Pitt's just broken.
[00:43:14] He's going to meet Joe Black and it's like...
[00:43:16] I mean that's exactly what Ben told me when we argued this point.
[00:43:19] So you're starting with him.
[00:43:21] Thanks buddy.
[00:43:22] I actually don't know how much of a compliment any of that was
[00:43:24] but I do appreciate it.
[00:43:26] I think it's one of those ones from that boulder.
[00:43:28] Yeah.
[00:43:30] I watched this film again about six months ago
[00:43:33] and I forgot that Austin Butler's in it until I watched it again.
[00:43:36] Yeah, there's a bunch of people who...
[00:43:38] For some reason I just forgot that he's in it.
[00:43:40] I mean Cindy Sweeney has like a blink and you miss it role in it.
[00:43:42] I forgot that Dakota Fanning was in this.
[00:43:44] Dakota Fanning has a pretty big role.
[00:43:46] Yeah.
[00:43:47] And that was a big part of the reason why I watched it
[00:43:50] is because I remembered a lot of the key moments of the movie
[00:43:54] especially involving DeCaprio and Brad Pitt
[00:43:56] but I had forgotten some of the side stuff and things that happened.
[00:43:59] A lot of people at that ranch though,
[00:44:01] like the women at the ranch are fairly substantial actors.
[00:44:07] Yeah, they're young up-and-coming actors.
[00:44:09] Yeah, like...
[00:44:10] Well, Alina Dunham's on an up-and-comer
[00:44:12] but she's one of them.
[00:44:14] Kevin Smith's daughter, Harley Quinn Smith
[00:44:16] is one of the people that's in there as well.
[00:44:19] But yeah, it's just...
[00:44:22] It's a great film.
[00:44:23] I mean, I think it's like Tarantino movies.
[00:44:25] I dig what he puts out there and it's a great movie.
[00:44:29] And Leo is just so good in that film.
[00:44:31] He really is.
[00:44:32] He's just so good.
[00:44:33] He's probably got a pretty good future ahead of him.
[00:44:35] I mean, let's wait for some more films.
[00:44:37] Okay.
[00:44:38] I'm willing to entertain that part, yes.
[00:44:40] At the very least, he has a new girlfriend probably soon.
[00:44:42] Hey guys, hey, I'm going to give you...
[00:44:44] Who do you think is a better actor?
[00:44:46] Tom Cruise or Leonardo DiCaprio?
[00:44:48] DeCaprio by far.
[00:44:49] DeCaprio has more versatility.
[00:44:51] Good.
[00:44:52] I just wanted to make sure you guys were on the same page.
[00:44:53] I think Tom Cruise is more dedicated though.
[00:44:55] Up to what? To Scientology?
[00:44:57] No, to like the craft.
[00:45:01] Why?
[00:45:02] Sorry, I'm glad...
[00:45:03] No, he's not.
[00:45:04] I mean, like really?
[00:45:05] No, no, I think there is stuff that Tom Cruise...
[00:45:08] Because he jumps on a plane?
[00:45:09] Yeah, because he does his own stuff.
[00:45:11] So like...
[00:45:12] No, no, no, no.
[00:45:13] That's a false dichotomy because they're not doing the same thing at all.
[00:45:15] I'm not talking about just the stunts, first of all.
[00:45:19] Yeah, well if you take the stunts away, then that's absolutely not true to DeCaprio.
[00:45:23] 100% is more involved in acting than Tom Cruise is.
[00:45:27] First of all, there's a lot more to it than that.
[00:45:31] I don't mean just the craft of acting.
[00:45:34] I mean the craft of just being a cinematic legend.
[00:45:38] Oh my God, you've been yourself into a corner and you just can't get out.
[00:45:42] When you've lost Ben on this Tom Cruise train,
[00:45:47] you've went too far.
[00:45:48] No, I think...
[00:45:49] So the thing with Cruise though is Cruise,
[00:45:51] so Cruise when it comes to being involved as a producer and stuff like that,
[00:45:57] the guy is like a fucking workhorse.
[00:45:59] He's involved in every facet of film making when he's a producer.
[00:46:04] I don't remember but I don't think I said which one's the better producer.
[00:46:10] Nate, that's a fair point and I want to come back and just tell you I don't give a shit.
[00:46:15] So you take that, you fold it up and put it in your wallet and just keep it there for a rainy day.
[00:46:23] I'm saying though if you look at the amount of films that Leonardo DeCaprio has produced as well,
[00:46:29] pretty impressive list.
[00:46:30] No, DeCaprio's a great producer too.
[00:46:32] But he also sits around a lot.
[00:46:35] What is... I don't even know what's happening right now.
[00:46:37] I have no idea where this is coming from.
[00:46:39] Like why is your need so strong to depend?
[00:46:42] Tom Cruise is the man and Zeno isn't a volcano because of him.
[00:46:49] He's to keep people safe.
[00:46:52] Alright, are we done?
[00:46:54] I think we've got some trailers.
[00:46:56] Oh yeah.
[00:46:57] Yeah Ben do you want to give us a little intro to the trailer part of the podcast?
[00:47:00] I don't know much but I know trailers.
[00:47:05] And that may be all I need to see.
[00:47:09] That was pretty good.
[00:47:10] I gotta give it to him.
[00:47:12] He went for the voice.
[00:47:13] You know he only did a little part of the song but I appreciate it.
[00:47:16] That's fine.
[00:47:17] Yeah, I'll go with it.
[00:47:18] I like it.
[00:47:19] Oh yeah!
[00:47:22] So we watched a couple trailers.
[00:47:24] One of them is for a new Netflix movie that's coming out.
[00:47:27] By the way when you talk about your Ben's trailer, it's trailer type.
[00:47:33] It plays in my head every time we do it.
[00:47:35] And I hate you for it because it's trailer time and it's gonna be great.
[00:47:40] Every time it still comes through my head.
[00:47:45] We watched the trailer for a new...
[00:47:51] A new Netflix movie coming on May 3rd.
[00:47:54] It's called Unfrosted.
[00:47:56] It's directed by Jerry Seinfeld and it stars everybody.
[00:47:59] Not age.
[00:48:00] No he's doing good.
[00:48:01] He turned 52 and just stayed 52.
[00:48:05] He's almost 70 years old.
[00:48:07] Are you serious?
[00:48:08] April 29th.
[00:48:09] Really?
[00:48:10] April 29th he'll be 70.
[00:48:11] Oh wow, he looks incredible.
[00:48:13] So this movie stars so many people.
[00:48:16] Let me read some names for you.
[00:48:17] Please do.
[00:48:18] We got Jay Seinfeld, Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gavigan, Hugh Grant, Amy Schumer, Max Greenfield, Peter Dinklage, Christian Slater, Bill Burr, Dan Levy, James Marsden,
[00:48:29] Jack Mubriar, Thomas Lennon, Bobby Moynihan, Mikey Day, Kyle Mooney, Tony Hale.
[00:48:37] Okay that's it.
[00:48:38] There's lots more.
[00:48:39] Beck Bennett.
[00:48:40] You can look at the cast list that shows up at the end of this.
[00:48:43] John Hale.
[00:48:44] Shut the fuck up Nate.
[00:48:45] Cedric Yarbaugh.
[00:48:46] Look at the list at the end of the trailer and you'll see it is insane how many people are in this movie.
[00:48:51] Just a who's who of big stars, day players.
[00:48:54] Just a fun cast of comedians and they're not doing the dramatic telling of how Pop Tarts came to be, which is what this movie's about in case you didn't know.
[00:49:04] It's very much a heightened comedic borderline parody depiction of how the Pop Tart was invented during a time when Kellogg's and Post were fighting for breakfast supremacy.
[00:49:18] Almost with an homage I felt to some Wes Anderson stuff a little bit in some of the...
[00:49:24] I can see that.
[00:49:25] Did you feel it?
[00:49:26] Yeah, just a little bit of like the feel.
[00:49:28] Because he's going for a specific aesthetic in this movie.
[00:49:33] Has a very glossy 1960s, pristine kind of depiction.
[00:49:38] But it looks like a lot of fun.
[00:49:40] It's the opposite of gritty, whatever that is.
[00:49:42] It's everything's clean and polished.
[00:49:44] Everything's astroturfed that they're walking on.
[00:49:47] And that does become very Wes Anderson-y.
[00:49:49] Yep, yep.
[00:49:50] You have a lot of people who are playing like the real life embodiment of like food mascots.
[00:49:56] Like Bobby Moynihan is Chef Boy R.D.
[00:49:59] You can see snap crackle and pop in there.
[00:50:01] Apparently Hugh Grant is playing the person who was like the original Tony the Tiger.
[00:50:07] Even though that person was not British.
[00:50:10] And Jerry San was like, hey, you know what?
[00:50:12] I don't care.
[00:50:15] This looks great.
[00:50:16] This looks great, isn't it?
[00:50:19] Instead of what Tony the Tiger normally says.
[00:50:22] That does sound a lot like Hugh Grant.
[00:50:27] Bad Boys 4.
[00:50:29] Are you going to see this in theaters?
[00:50:32] It's not coming to theaters.
[00:50:34] It's a Netflix douchebag.
[00:50:36] Maybe it's not in theaters.
[00:50:37] Yeah anyway, Bad Boys 4.
[00:50:39] What's it called?
[00:50:40] Bad Boys Rider Die.
[00:50:42] Oh by the way, Unfrosted comes out May 3rd so it's coming out in like...
[00:50:45] A month and a half.
[00:50:47] Less than a month.
[00:50:48] Oh yeah, it's April.
[00:50:50] April showers bring May flowers.
[00:50:54] Alright, Bad Boys Ride or Die.
[00:50:58] Very stylish trailer.
[00:50:59] Would you ride or would you die?
[00:51:01] I'd ride with this one.
[00:51:02] No, you'd die.
[00:51:03] You couldn't keep up with them.
[00:51:05] Oh no, you're right.
[00:51:06] They're older than me and I could not keep up with them.
[00:51:08] You know who's in this?
[00:51:10] Will Smith.
[00:51:11] DJ Khaled.
[00:51:13] And another one.
[00:51:14] Thank you.
[00:51:16] And another one.
[00:51:17] And Martin Lawrence who looks fat and then not fat?
[00:51:21] His body doesn't look as puffy as his face with the cake.
[00:51:24] His face looks so swollen.
[00:51:26] He's got chipmunk cheeks.
[00:51:27] Like he got stung by something.
[00:51:28] But then his body, it's like fine.
[00:51:30] So he's like a lollipop.
[00:51:31] Next week though, he turns 59.
[00:51:33] That's fine.
[00:51:34] Like that's not an excuse in Hollywood.
[00:51:36] Will Smith turns 56 this year.
[00:51:38] Will Smith's face looks like AI.
[00:51:40] Yeah.
[00:51:45] So yeah, what do you guys think about this latest chapter of Bad Boys?
[00:51:48] What do you guys think of Bad Boys for Life?
[00:51:50] I liked it.
[00:51:51] I didn't love it, but I liked it.
[00:51:52] I thought it was fine.
[00:51:53] I thought it was enjoyable.
[00:51:54] Yeah.
[00:51:55] It was kind of like that.
[00:51:56] When it came out, it was Slim Pickens.
[00:51:57] So I was very happy.
[00:51:58] That was a COVID film right?
[00:52:00] Actually I went to go see that in the theater.
[00:52:01] Yeah.
[00:52:02] It's no Bad Boys 2.
[00:52:05] Bad Boys 2 is phenomenal.
[00:52:06] Yeah.
[00:52:07] That is so over the top.
[00:52:08] They literally blow up a mansion for real.
[00:52:10] That's great.
[00:52:11] It's an all-time action movie.
[00:52:13] It really is.
[00:52:14] It's a truly a Michael Bay achievement.
[00:52:16] Yeah, it really is.
[00:52:17] And it sounds like we're being facetious,
[00:52:19] but I mean it's a really good action.
[00:52:21] No, no, it is.
[00:52:22] It is good shit.
[00:52:23] Yeah, Bad Boys for Life, I was fine with.
[00:52:25] I thought it was good.
[00:52:26] Do you remember that scene in Bad Boys 2
[00:52:27] where they take the car from Dan Marino?
[00:52:29] Yeah.
[00:52:30] And then they say,
[00:52:31] oh, Dan Marino should buy this car.
[00:52:33] Not this one because I'm going to fuck this one up.
[00:52:35] But Dan Marino should definitely get one of these cars.
[00:52:38] I think about that line like once a month.
[00:52:40] It's just a fun movie.
[00:52:42] It is.
[00:52:43] It is.
[00:52:44] It's good.
[00:52:45] And this looks like it'll carry over more of the style
[00:52:47] from the third movie, which it's fine.
[00:52:49] Pretty good stuff.
[00:52:50] Just stylistic action.
[00:52:53] A lot of bombastic things happening,
[00:52:55] but it's a lot of just slow-motion,
[00:52:57] tire squealing and whatever.
[00:52:59] I don't know how much substance there will be.
[00:53:01] Some of the comedic beats were good.
[00:53:04] Other comedic beats were fine.
[00:53:06] It's pretty hitter.
[00:53:08] But it does seem like this takes a little bit
[00:53:10] of like Fast & Furious where the action's getting
[00:53:13] more and more for regular cops, right?
[00:53:15] It's like they're writing in helicopters.
[00:53:18] Every film kind of increases some of the action,
[00:53:20] which I'm here for.
[00:53:21] I mean, to be fair, Bad Boys II kind of like...
[00:53:23] Yeah.
[00:53:24] I mean, for regular cops, they're also military.
[00:53:27] But it's Miami.
[00:53:28] So...
[00:53:29] Welcome to Miami.
[00:53:30] Bienvenidos.
[00:53:31] Yeah, you ever been to Miami?
[00:53:32] I'm a homie.
[00:53:33] Yeah.
[00:53:35] Drugs and explosions and car chases every day down there.
[00:53:39] That's why they...
[00:53:40] Did you just do a little bit of an accent there?
[00:53:42] No.
[00:53:43] It really sounded like it did.
[00:53:44] It's leaning into his...
[00:53:45] No, that's why they set Grand Theft Auto in Vice City.
[00:53:48] It's probably just like drogas y películas.
[00:53:51] Las drogas y música y toznadas.
[00:53:59] Y bibliotecas.
[00:54:02] Fondo Julido.
[00:54:06] It's also good to see John Salley back at work.
[00:54:08] Was John Salley in this?
[00:54:09] Yeah, he's...
[00:54:10] I didn't see that in the trailer.
[00:54:12] Miami Heats John Salley?
[00:54:14] Yeah.
[00:54:15] Where was he?
[00:54:16] Detroit.
[00:54:17] I mean, you know something about the distance.
[00:54:18] Where was he?
[00:54:19] I don't know.
[00:54:20] He's in this according to Wikipedia.
[00:54:21] Oh, he didn't see him in the trailer.
[00:54:22] No, I didn't see him in the trailer.
[00:54:23] Gotcha.
[00:54:24] You know who is in this trailer though?
[00:54:25] Joey Pants.
[00:54:26] Joey Pantaliano.
[00:54:27] Oh, Joe Pantaliano is back even though his character is dead.
[00:54:31] That doesn't stop him from making a movie that doesn't stop him
[00:54:35] from making a movie, that video and sending it to the boys
[00:54:39] and letting them know if something's going down.
[00:54:41] Because they are his bad boys.
[00:54:43] Did you hear him?
[00:54:44] I told you that story, right?
[00:54:46] That I have a tangential connection to Joey Pants?
[00:54:49] I think so, but I don't know if you ever mentioned it on the podcast.
[00:54:52] So feel free to refresh everybody.
[00:54:53] A buddy of mine dated a girl for many years
[00:54:56] and that girl was Joey Pants' daughter.
[00:54:59] Judy Pants.
[00:55:01] And so my friend told me that he had hung out with Joey Pants
[00:55:07] quite a few times, but just as like, he's a father
[00:55:10] and we're just going out on his boat and like we're just hanging out
[00:55:13] and it's not Hollywood actor Joey Pantaliano.
[00:55:16] I can't even imagine what that is.
[00:55:17] You know?
[00:55:18] And so I was like, what was he like?
[00:55:19] And he goes, just a real short temper on that guy.
[00:55:22] And then he also told me like, you know how like you go to a premiere of a movie
[00:55:28] and the celebrities get stuff for free that you would have to buy.
[00:55:32] So all the gift bags have like Cartier watches.
[00:55:35] I mean, they used to back in the day.
[00:55:36] I don't know what it's like anymore, but he's like,
[00:55:38] so then they went into Joey Pants' basement
[00:55:42] and in the basement, it's just like unopened,
[00:55:45] like five sets of TVs.
[00:55:47] I'm sure.
[00:55:48] Just all of this stuff that he gets his swag.
[00:55:49] It's just down there.
[00:55:50] And he was like, are you going to sell this as an ad?
[00:55:53] You just collected it as a celebrity.
[00:55:55] He's just got it all in his basement.
[00:55:56] It's insane to me.
[00:55:57] You keep it for a rainy day.
[00:55:58] Evidently.
[00:55:59] There you go.
[00:56:00] Whenever Joey Pants is in Catch Page,
[00:56:01] he's going to sell that Sony Viome.
[00:56:03] That Sony Viome?
[00:56:04] From 2008.
[00:56:08] New in the box.
[00:56:09] It's still going to be good.
[00:56:10] Got that iPad 4.
[00:56:14] That's awesome.
[00:56:15] Rounded corners and everything.
[00:56:16] That Tamaguchi is dead.
[00:56:18] Oh man, long time ago.
[00:56:20] Oh, Joey Pants, we love you.
[00:56:22] We love you.
[00:56:23] RIP.
[00:56:24] Thanks for listening.
[00:56:25] That's it.
[00:56:26] They just closed the show.
[00:56:27] Joey Pants, Joey Pants, Joey Pants,
[00:56:30] JP.
[00:56:31] JP.
[00:56:34] We did it.
[00:56:35] Two trailers.
[00:56:36] Two trailers for the price of one.
[00:56:38] Is anything coming out this weekend?
[00:56:39] Anything fun?
[00:56:43] No.
[00:56:44] It's April.
[00:56:45] Is this a bad month for...
[00:56:47] It's not a great one.
[00:56:48] May is normally the kickoff.
[00:56:49] Like there's usually a fast-furious...
[00:56:50] A summer box.
[00:56:51] ...tipically comes out in May.
[00:56:53] Monkey Man and the first Omen just came out.
[00:56:56] Apparently first Omen is very good.
[00:56:58] I'm excited to see it.
[00:56:59] Is Monkey Man getting good reviews?
[00:57:00] Monkey Man has been getting mostly good reviews.
[00:57:02] Is it like 65% around Tomatoes type of tune?
[00:57:04] I haven't seen the Rotten Tomatoes score,
[00:57:06] but I've heard a lot of good things.
[00:57:07] Apparently it sounds like it might bite a little more
[00:57:10] and it can chew off,
[00:57:11] but the action's very good.
[00:57:12] Deft Patel's great in that.
[00:57:13] It still hits some good points even from the mixed reviews.
[00:57:17] I will totally still watch it.
[00:57:18] Yeah, I absolutely want to see that in theaters.
[00:57:21] Hey, what's the last movie you saw, buddy?
[00:57:23] I saw Wishbone.
[00:57:25] What is that?
[00:57:26] You know Wishbone from PBS?
[00:57:28] Well, that's been fun.
[00:57:30] That was a nice little diatribe.
[00:57:32] You know Wishbone, don't you?
[00:57:34] No.
[00:57:35] Dog Storybooks?
[00:57:36] Nope.
[00:57:37] Okay, well...
[00:57:38] Huh.
[00:57:39] I just watched PBS for the Tidy Desk Concerts.
[00:57:41] You know what my current obsession is right now, actually?
[00:57:44] You're going to tell us.
[00:57:46] I'm going to guess the very thing you were just looking at earlier.
[00:57:49] Sydney Sweeney.
[00:57:50] Porn.
[00:57:51] Oh.
[00:57:52] I said new obsessions.
[00:57:54] So I've learned that there are some YouTube channels out there that have compilations of
[00:58:02] Saturday morning cartoons with the commercials intent.
[00:58:06] Oh, you're loving that.
[00:58:07] Are you?
[00:58:08] Oh my gosh.
[00:58:09] Like I put on a little block while I was having breakfast on Saturday and so many of these
[00:58:15] like media memories came flooding back to me of like commercials that like I still
[00:58:21] remember.
[00:58:22] And just it's wild.
[00:58:23] Just all the things that I remember watching when I was a kid and like there's also cartoons
[00:58:28] that like I just totally forgot about like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes had its own fucking
[00:58:32] cartoon.
[00:58:33] There's some cartoon that I didn't remember but it's like called like Pigsburg or something
[00:58:39] where it's like these pigs, like it's like a city.
[00:58:42] These pigs that live in Pennsylvania?
[00:58:44] It's like a city of that's like all it's just all pigs, you know, and they live
[00:58:47] like normal people and stuff like that.
[00:58:50] Yeah, it's just there's so much fun.
[00:58:53] It's a lot of fun.
[00:58:54] So yeah, go if you haven't discovered this, just go on YouTube and type in Saturday morning
[00:58:59] cartoon compilation with commercials and you'll find a bunch of streams of like three, four
[00:59:04] hour blocks and stuff like that.
[00:59:05] And there's it's it is just a treasure trove.
[00:59:08] I love it.
[00:59:09] Treasure trove.
[00:59:11] Treasure trove nostalgia cartoons.
[00:59:14] All right.
[00:59:15] Guys, we did another wonderful episode.
[00:59:18] It's good to be back by the way.
[00:59:19] It is.
[00:59:20] Yeah.
[00:59:21] Thankfully Ben didn't have to go on vacation this weekend.
[00:59:23] I was in Vegas, I lost a lot of money.
[00:59:24] I shot a lot of cool things.
[00:59:27] Is that you Ben?
[00:59:28] I lost some money.
[00:59:30] We went on some of the trips this past month.
[00:59:33] So many things to do next week.
[00:59:35] I'm going to go to Nebraska.
[00:59:37] Then maybe I'll go to South Dakota.
[00:59:40] Maybe we'll go North Dakota.
[00:59:42] That's not what I sound like at all.
[00:59:45] It's not what I sound like at all.
[00:59:47] Nate?
[00:59:48] I mean, there's a little bit of your tone.
[00:59:51] Hey guys, it's not like the poor thing was gonna,
[00:59:53] or what are you gonna need?
[00:59:55] It's a little homestar runner, but like if it's a homestar runner and you made it,
[00:59:58] which I know there's a fantasy.
[01:00:00] Which is actually talking about Sydney Sweeney move over.
[01:00:02] Yeah.
[01:00:03] Homestar runner what's up.
[01:00:04] Yeah, I wish I did make it.
[01:00:05] That porcelain skin little fuck.
[01:00:07] Oh my God.
[01:00:08] Whoa, that got aggressive.
[01:00:10] Geez.
[01:00:11] All right.
[01:00:12] Hey.
[01:00:13] I gotta go home my kids.
[01:00:14] Go flick yourself pod.com, find us on there,
[01:00:16] rate us review it, send us a message.
[01:00:18] You can send us an audio message and have some fun with that as well.
[01:00:21] Hey Brad, where can people find you online?
[01:00:23] I hear you're reviewing films online.
[01:00:26] Slashfilm.com is where I write about movies and TV shows
[01:00:29] even though I'm not necessarily always reviewing them.
[01:00:32] You can also find me on Twitter at Ethan underscore anderton
[01:00:35] where I'm offering up fun little things.
[01:00:39] Why not just own and just go move that T to an S?
[01:00:44] I don't know what that means.
[01:00:46] Ethan Anderson.
[01:00:47] Anderson.
[01:00:48] Yeah, Anderson.
[01:00:49] Oh, because I'm the rest of the Swedes.
[01:00:51] It's slightly less waspy.
[01:00:55] All right, what about you, Benny?
[01:00:57] Where can people find you?
[01:00:58] Oh my God, so many places but basically full tilt LP.com
[01:01:03] for all of your Northwest Indian arcade needs.
[01:01:07] You have a hooters a lot, right?
[01:01:09] Yep.
[01:01:10] In the parking lot they're not allowing me in anymore.
[01:01:15] All right.
[01:01:16] Well, this has been a good show.
[01:01:18] Nate, where are people going to find you online?
[01:01:20] Yeah, I'm on places.
[01:01:21] Bye everybody.
[01:01:22] Bye.
[01:01:28] Nah, cheat site guy.
